As Cold As You was an enjoyable, easy-to-read hockey romance that works well as a palate cleanser between heavier books. The pacing kept me engaged, and I found myself turning the pages pretty quickly.

That said, I struggled quite a bit with Sierra. While she wasn't the source of every problem in the story, I felt she was a major contributor to much of the relationship conflict. Her choices and behaviour often came across as toxic, which made it difficult for me to fully connect with her as a heroine.

The male characters aren't exactly models of healthy communication or relationships either. One of the MMCs definitely has his own toxic moments, although I could at least understand where some of his reactions were coming from given the circumstances. Understanding the behaviour didn't necessarily make the way he handled things any easier to read, though.

I also found it odd how casually everyone seemed to accept certain outcomes. The parent-child dynamic felt more like a peer relationship at times, and the ending relied a little too heavily on convenience for my liking.

Despite those criticisms, I still enjoyed the book overall. It's a quick, entertaining hockey romance with plenty of drama, and while the characters occasionally frustrated me, I was invested enough to keep reading. If you're looking for a light, bingeable sports romance and don't mind messy, imperfect characters, this one is worth picking up.
