I've spent my career putting out fires. Then I met the woman who sets them—and everything inside me burns.
Cora blows glass like an artist and lives like a hurricane. Equipment fires, minor explosions, accidents that should terrify her but just make her laugh— I respond professionally every time, even when those green eyes test every ounce of my control.
Then I find her passed out from forgetting to eat. Again. "You're going to let me take care of you," I growl against her ear, backing her against the kitchen counter until she gasps.
The crew thinks it's hilarious that I've gone full caveman over our favorite frequent caller. But they don't know how she looks at me like I'm her salvation. Or how her chaos makes me want to be the steady thing she can lean on.
When galleries start calling and her career explodes, I'll have to decide if I'm strong enough to let her fly.
Because Cora doesn't just create with fire—she is fire, and I'm already burned.
I read the first chapter of this book and decided to give it a chance. I regret that. While everything started out fine it soon got confusing. After a week of dating Trevor and Cora are already discussing whether or not they want kids. And then, a little while later, Trevor is visiting Cora and is surprised to learn she doesn’t want kids. What? They are dating for a little while and Trevor takes food to Cora. At her place he meets a man, Brad, and assumes she is dating him. He’s disappointed she has a boyfriend. Huh? It felt like the author cobbled together the story and forgot to copy and paste the chapters in order. Incidents happened more than once and/or out of order. There was also so much repetition of things, and it seemed the author tried to toss everything into the story she could. I ended up skimming the last few chapters just to finish the book. I figured since everything kept getting repeated I wouldn’t miss much. Skip this one. I wish I had.

Trevor meets Cora on a fire call and throws the stubborn woman over his shoulder and it’s the start of a beautiful connection. Both scared where it will lead in their own way. Trevor is a control freak who has a plan for everything. Cora is a walking disaster who lives through her work where she forgets the rest of the world exists. An unexpected connection and one they need to work at to beat the odds. A beautiful mess.

“Hot Disaster: Small Town, Firefighter Romance” by Jenna Jax
-A heartfelt, realistic romance that burns with passion and humor. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Cora, the talented glassblower, meets Trevor, the brave firefighter, in sparks and chaos. Their misunderstandings feel real, their banter delightfully genuine.
A small-town love story that’s warm, emotional, and full of heart.
Good story that kept my interest from beginning to ending. While reading it actually comes across as the true life story of Cora and Trevor. The situations and the bantering which are some times serious and some times funny seem real. Good characters and both well developed.

This book is so much fun to read. A cast of real people finding their way with real emotions. Another winner from Jax! I can't wait to start reading her next book.
