Pierre Gripari

He served in the airborne troops, from 1946 to 1949.Eldar Idrizovic From 1950 to 1957, he was employed by Mobil Oil, and was delegate of CGT trade union.
He took up writing at an early age but did not consider his works fit for publishing until the late 1950s.
In 1959, he published his autobiography, Pierrot-la-lune, which was a critical success. He gained notoriety with his 1962 play Lieutenant Tenant, but his later works were commercially unsuccessful. Pierre Gripari kept publishing his books thanks to the support of publisher L'Age d'Homme, but only gained real fame and success in the late 1970s, thanks to the publishing of his children's book Contes de la rue Broca. Until his death, he was more known to French audiences as a children's author.
He was also theater critic for the newspaper Écrits de Paris.
He died December 23, 1990 at St. Joseph hospital in Paris.

I have read a few of these stories before and I loved them, so I decided to give it a try to the full version. I had fun, I already have my favourites, but I did not remember they were so religious at times. This does not affect them in the least, of course, just reminded me they were older than I thought.
My favourite stories still remain 'The good little devil' and the one based on a Russian folktale. There's so much to be had, I think I hadn't read the story of the little star-stealing pig before and it made me laugh a lot. I love Gripari's stories and I'm glad there's still two more books.

The book looked bigger on the outside, with big easy to read tales and some beautiful illustrations all over the place. The histories included some old moral guidance, as beatings and such “nice” things to bad children who misbehave, the characters are found of marring unknown people and the fairy realm collides with the Catholic one, all of these characters have bent the knee of faced imprisonment when defiant to the church. Having said that, I loved them! This is the first of 3 books that collects the Pierre Gripari’s tales that were used in the TV series; the other two are “Les contes de la Folie Méricourt” and “Contes d'ailleurs et d'autre part”. This book includes:

Book Review;
I like like a lot “Conte De La Rue Broca” because it was very rare but it was funny so I liked a lot. I start to read this book because I wanted to practice my french, and it really helping me. “Conte De La Rue Broca” is a really good book to practice french because it had a lot of words challenging for me, but it had the basics of french. I gave this book 5 stars because how I said before is really fun and interesting because had a lot of stories, but they change a little bit the stories so, for me it had like they own switch, and uniqueness. These book, is like to be in an adventure, and you learn new things that you will remember for the rest of your life, so for me this book is a big adventure, a big big adventure.
I will recommend this book to someone that like to read, and that know how to talk french because is in french. I think that this book is a book for very interesting persons, because there are persons that dosen’t like so much, that traditional stories, have a switch or have something rare, and I not saying that is bad I’m just saying that there are people that like more traditional stories with a switch, and there are not so much of that people like switch on traditional stories. These book was very interesting because had a lot of medieval stories, and there was some stories that were invented by them, and I think that is because they need to have something unique, that was created by them, I mean is okay to have a switch on traditional stories but I mean is important to to have your own stories. If you read this book you will have a lot of fun trust me.
My favorite part of the book is in the story of “Histoire de Lustucru” because at the beginning there was these teacher that: what is the name of the Roman general who conquered Gaul.
And Bachire, that is a kid, respond to the teacher that is Lustucru, but the teacher said no, and it was very disappointed of him because his answer was wrong. And that was my favorite part because it was very funny, because who believe that Lustucru was the Roman general who conquered Gaul, I mean it was very funny but rare, but at the end Pierre, that is the person that count the story, like the narrative of the story, tell to the teacher and Bachire that he was right and start to count the rest of the story.
My major takeaway of these book, is that dosen’t matter if you switch a little bit the stories and that you can be rare. I think that these is a big takeaway because I learn a lot that be rare is not wrong and dosen’t matter what other people said of you and I think that is something really important, and to learn or give example of why you should to that is really hard, so I think, to learn these is really hard so I will and I have to appreciate. I think that these takeaway will help me in my Hero’s Journey because, if I apply these to my future and my Hero’s Journey, I will do whatever I want and I will no care of what other people said to me, that I can’t do that or you're to small to do that, I will not care, and I think, to said “no I can do these” is something really hard that I will learn to do.

Amé el libro así como amé la mini serie animada cuando era niña.
Como ya no recordaba todas las historias, las reviví con la misma inocencia que si fuera una niña.
Mis cuentos favoritos sin duda son:

J'adorais la série télé des Contes de la rue Broca quand j'étais petite, j'ai toujours la chanson en tête et j'y repense souvent avec nostalgie. Malheureusement, j'aurais dû me contenter de mes souvenirs plutôt que de lire ces contes qui sont assez inconstants sur leur représentation - parfois étonnamment misogynes ou racistes, mais d'autres fois très ouverts et inclusifs. Globalement, beaucoup de ces contes m'ont dérangée pour une raison ou une autre et je n'aurais pas envie de les lire à des enfants.

Un buen libro, me recordó mi niñez porque en la tele pasaban la caricatura. Realmente desconocía que las historias que pasaban eran parte de un libro. Para mi, es un tesoro.

Contes de la rue Broca est un recueil de 13 contes de fées pour enfants (et adultes) écrit avec beaucoup d'humour et absurdité par Pierre Gripari, et publié pour la première fois en 1967.
La particularité très charmante de ces contes c'est qu'ils ont été écrits collectivement par Pierre Gripari et les enfants de la rue Broca, car, étant à court d'histoires à raconter, Gripari leur propose d'imaginer leurs propres récits, et c'est ainsi que les contes de la rue Broca ont vu le jour.
Les contes de la rue Broca ont bercé mon enfance, je ne les avais jamais lus auparavant mais je regardais le dessin animé (Oui, j'ai revu les épisodes tout en lisant le livre. Oui, je suis une gamine 🙂). Ça m'a fait tellement chaud au cœur de les lire et de me remémorer le temps heureux de l'enfance, et surtout de constater que mon âme d'enfant est toujours bien vivante car je les apprécie toujours autant. ❤

IDK if these stories were socially appropriate when they were originally written, but reading them in 2023, some of them come across as a bit sexist.
Also, one story is definitely super racist. There’s really no need to “ching-chong,” ever, even if you’re trying to poke fun at the protagonist for not speaking a language. There are smarter ways to achieve that.
