I was rejected and exiled by the Alpha King, All while carrying his secret baby inside my belly.
Kieran Blackthorne is not just my fated mate. He is the Alpha King of the Northlands. Ruthless, cruel, and sexy as ever. When our fated bond snapped, we spent an amazing night together- only for him to banish me the next day for a crime I didn't even commit.
I fled into exile, broken and pregnant. Built a life in the shadows. Raised a son with golden eyes and the mark of his bloodline.
Until the night Kieran went hunting at the border. And found a feral boy in the woods. Our son. His heir.
Now the truth is out. I've been hiding the Alpha king's heir- And Kieran's words burn hotter than his mark ever
“I will burn kingdoms before I lose you again.”
He wants to grovel and beg for us- but do I surrender to the mate who shattered me? Or run again, knowing this time it is not only my heart on the line, but our son’s life as well?

The book started okay, then it took a drastic 180 left turn and crashed and BURNED. (Possible spoilers ahead)
The biggest issue with this book is it turned extremely long winded and VERY political.
So…the book opens where H and h have been fated mates for 3 years. They are “married” and very much in love. They have a wild night of body tango, then the next day, h is accused of treason. She has some magical chains around herself, so she can’t even defend herself. H rips the mate bond away, then exiles her into the rogue territory. Sweeeeet. :/s h never got to tell him she was pregnant. 🙃 You know immediately Marcus is the bad guy.
I’d say within an hour of H rejecting h, he knows he made a huge mistake. 🤦♀️ He then decides to investigate more.
5 years later, h has a 4 year old son. H has been looking for her all this time. The son is 4, but he doesn’t act 4 at all. He’s more like an 18 year old. He always has these “wise” sayings. 😏
Anyway, H and h reunite. She’s angry. He keeps apologizing. The 4 year old is named Jasper, but sometimes he’s called Jason. So confusing.
I’ll skip all the groveling H attempts because eventually they go back to H’s pack. They keep getting attacked by the same person- Marcus. There’s a whole lot of political stuff that happens. Basically, the good guys want to merge all the supernaturals together. Unity and peace. The bad guys don’t. They believe in the old ways. Prejudice
The little kid keeps being wise with his simple sayings “being nice is easier” or “ love is simple” 😏😏 which makes all the adults stare in shock at his wisdom.
The last 45% of this book is all political. Bad guys keep showing up. Once Marcus is finally dealt with, another bad guy shows up.
h becomes some type of iconic leader type of figure.
H and h’s discussions became super flowery with each other. Super strange.
This whole book was just…..no I’d have to say this is the worst shifter book I’ve read this year
