When a snowstorm strands sports agent Brian Klein in a charming Pittsburgh bookshop, he fears his holiday is ruined.
But curvy store owner Noa Bishop has a smile brighter than any blackout, a spare fuzzy sweater, and a soft spot for silver-haired strangers with too many phone notifications.
The blizzard knocks out the power, so Noa shares her tea, her traditions, and her sticky-sweet ideas for fun with jelly donuts.
Their incredible night lights up the dark, but when the skies clear, Brian has to get back to his nomadic life repping the world’s hottest sports stars.
He’s just passing through. She’s firmly planted. But when fate brings them together again, they’re in a real the man who never stays still and the woman rooted in place have sparked feelings that will not fade…
Witty, warm, and delightfully steamy, this holiday novella is perfect for fans of Tessa Bailey, Meghan Quinn, and Helena Hunting.
So glad the world’s best sports agent finally got his own love interest! Noa is a bookshop owner who is in the middle of story time when the hunky professional steps into her store, in search of a Hanukkah gift for his mother. The pair flirt a bit, and Brian makes his exit. As Noa is settling in to her upstairs apartment for the night to light the first night’s shamash and candle, she spies an agitated Brian on the street below, at the broken EV charging station, gesturing wildly while on his cellphone. Understanding dawns and she invites him in to shelter with her while the snowstorm rages outside.
After a very passionate night, Brian continues on to his mother’s home where he can’t get the gorgeous brunette out of his mind. He has an idea which will keep him I. Pittsburgh more often, but will Noa be on board for the long term?
As ever, Lainey Davis has the knack for making the reader care about the MCs - prior knowledge of Brian and the Stag family aren’t necessary to enjoy this book, however! - and Pittsburgh itself is a living, breathing character. This is a perfect Chrismukkah/cozy season read that can be enjoyed in just a few hours.
I was generously furnished an advance reader copy from the author, and I’m sharing my honest review.
This is a review of the audiobook performed by Carly Robins and William DeMeritt.
This is a sexy Hanukkah novella about a bookstore owner (Noa ) and a sports agent (Brian). There is a bit of an age gap (she is early 30s and he is 45).
They meet during a snowstorm. They definitely both fall fast. But it’s still a cute fun story.
I loved that it takes place over Hanukkah. This is my first listening to these audiobook readers. I liked William Merritt. He did a good job. And his female voices did not annoy me. Carly Robins was okay. Although she didn’t totally fit the character to me.
But overall this is a quick very sexy listen. Perfect for this time of year.
Lit for Him: Snowed In and Falling Hard by Lainey Davis Narrated by Carly Robins & William Demeritt affiliate links
Oh how I wish this were a full-length romance. I really loved Lit for Him by Lainey Davis, and I think it’s the perfect book to introduce Hanukkah to her current non-Jewish readers, while also appealing to Jewish readers like me who are always on the hunt for the rare Hanukkah romance.
This was my first time reading Lainey Davis, so I didn’t know any of the backstory going in. I don’t think it was necessary, but I imagine fans of her series would especially love Lit for Him. Brian Klein has apparently been a side character in two of her series as the sports agent for the Stag family. He lives out of a suitcase, making deals nonstop, with no time for anything meaningful in his personal life.
When he stops into a bookstore to buy his mom a Hanukkah gift on his way out of town, a snowstorm hits and his electric rental car dies. Luckily, Noa, the beautiful young bookstore owner, is closing up for the night and getting ready to light the Hanukkah candles. She invites him in, and the chemistry is instant, despite the age gap. He’s 45, and she’s 32.
Lit for Him was quick, and I wanted more. I loved it exactly as it was, but it was so good it deserved to be longer. I especially loved Brian’s relationship with his mother and sister, as well as his connection to the Stag family. I also loved Noa’s family. It was refreshing to see healthy family dynamics when so many books lean heavily into parental trauma.
Carly Robins and William DeMeritt were perfect narrators for this story, and I’m so glad I chose to listen rather than read it.
Now I wish I had the time to start the Stag Brothers series from the beginning. One thing’s for sure, I’ll absolutely be watching for new releases from this author because I really enjoyed her storytelling.
Sweet and cute novella with Brian, every Stag’s sport’s agent, and Noa, a charming and compassionate book store owner. They fall hard and fast but soo deep. Love the cast: William DeMeritt as Brian and Carly Robbins as Noa really brought the age gap between them to life; DeMeritt with his deep timber and Robbins with her youthful voice were the perfect cast.
💬 I really enjoyed this heartwarming, Hanukkah-y romance novella! It's sweet, with just the right amount of spice. And it has such a great cosy, holiday vibe.
Despite being a novella, it didn't feel rushed, and I got caught up in their whirlwind romance.
The narrators did a great job bringing them to life, and I think Robbins especially did an excellent job acting out Noa's emotions. I definitely teared up at the end.
Definitely need to add this to your holiday TBR list!
A big thank you to @homecookedbookspromo for a free ALC of this book. All opinions are my own.
Very cute and genuine! 4.5 Star rating easily rounded to 5!!
Lit for Him is a short novella that pucks a punch and I loved it. I loved the air of romance the story held from the very beginning. It wasn’t a “bang” kind of story which is what often happens when an author tries to make a novella more than it should be. This truly was a developed romance. I believed it. I felt it. And it happened overnight. Literally! LOL That’s wizard magic plotting and writing right there and I am here for it!
I’ve always associated “novellas” as either sexual driven moments in time that are “explored” or secondary characters getting their ❤️sweet spot❤️ on paper but we’ve known it all along because they’ve been in the background of stories before theirs. Feel me? So before I started listening to Lit for Him, I did my due diligence stalking but came up with nothing, so I prepared for one of those stories *wink*lol but what I got was way more! This story was romantic, feel-good, kismet, sweet, sexy and it warmed my heart! There are no plot-point to give you or circumstances to explain because it honestly is a short story and any one thing you learn beforehand would render you experiencing this story useless. So go forth enjoy this heartfelt genuine holiday romance! And don’t forget to believe in the magic of the holidays!
🎧 As for the narration … 👏👏😍😘😀👏👏!! 🎤William DeMeritt and Carly Robins🎤 made a lovely team! They were completely tuned into one another, and their performance came from the heart. They are both excellent narrators that make you feel the experience of the audio and not just merely listening.
Sidebar: I have a “thing” about the ILY moment in romance fiction, and this does not just pertain to shorter stories such as this one but to any and all stories where it’s thrown in at the very end like a “step in solving a formula”. Listen, romances have a HEA. Obviously. That’s not even close to an arguable point. However, ILYs do not always have to be spelled out. Trust your readers to understand the assignment. There is nothing that makes me twitchier than twitchy, than an “ILY scene” in a story just for the sake of doing it. It takes the feel of that circumstance and shreds it to pieces. One might even go as far as saying it could ruin a reading/listening experience. It happened with this story, and I wish it hadn’t. It was unnecessary and honestly felt forced.
Well, those are all the pennies I have. Don’t spend them all at once. I hear there’s a shortage! 🤷♀️
Another great story from author Lainey Davis! Lit for Him is the perfect short holiday story to get you in the romantic, holiday spirit.
Set in a small town within Pittsburgh, Noa owns a bookstore in that small town. Brian is a sports agent who is in town and comes into the bookstore to grab a gift for his mum. Due to a storm, he gets stranded, and so Noa offfers him a place for the night. They have such great chemistry from the get go, and when they part and go their separate ways, they can’t help but keep thinking about each other. But with Noa’s whole life dedicated to her bookstore, and for Brian, his sports agent career is everything, and he also feels he can only really thrive in the big city. Can they make things work? Or was one night all they’ll ever have?
This book was great! I had fun and really enjoyed it. Noa and Brian were great characters. And I also loved seeing appearances from some other great characters from the Stag/Lainey Davis universe. 😊
Carly Robins and William DeMeritt did fantastic with the narration. Their voices and narration choices for this fit perfectly, with all the emotions coming through their performances. They really helped to bring the story and the characters to life!
Thanks to the author, Lainey Davis, and the team at HomeCooked Books for providing me with an advanced audio review copy of this book. All opinions provided in this review are entirely my own.
Lit for Him is another delightful story to add to your holiday reading and listening. A medium-length audiobook, three hours, it’s just right to put you in a festive mood and satisfy your craving for romance – and humor. Don’t ever forget the humor with author Lainey Davis. But fair warning: this book will draw you in and make it impossible for you to take the earbuds out of your ears, so be prepared to listen straight through. You’ll be so glad you did.
Brian Klein is agent to the Stags. He goes way back with them, to the previous generation. And if you’ve read any of Davis’s Forging Series starring the younger Stag brothers and cousins, Brian has often been front and center. He’s all business; no nonsense, impatient, wants to get things done and get them done right now. All about protecting his player clients – their finances, their reputations, their careers. He’s an excellent agent and employer, well-liked and well-respected. And that pretty much sums up Brian’s life: work, work, work. Always on the road, always with a phone to his ear. Close to his mother and sister and the rest of his family even though he can’t always visit, but Brian has no romantic relationships, no entanglements, no wife, no children. He may have wanted that at one time but it just seems like it’s too late now.
Until that night he is stranded in a snowstorm in Pittsburg. What he thinks of later as that magical night.
Like Brian, Noa Bishop is a hard worker, dedicated to making her business thrive. But unlike Brian, Noa is all about being surrounded by family and friends, content to stay forever in her little corner of Pittsburg in the bookstore she loves. Burned once, she’s skittish about giving her heart away again. Until the snowstorm and what she also comes to think of as that magical night.
I love the Stag family. They’re loud, rowdy, boisterous, exuberant and best of all, loving, welcoming, protective, caring and sincere. Once you are brought into the fold by them there is no leaving. And I love Brian and Noa. Brian has been brought into the fold although he doesn’t quite realize it yet. In Lit for Him we get to experience once again the joy of being with the Stags as well as meeting new characters we instantly love. And the connections – let’s just say that Brian and Noa are already connected by six degrees of separation.
There’s a little spark the moment Noa and Brian meet in her bookstore, but they don’t know each other and don’t expect to see each other again. But here comes the snow and the blackout and the close, close, close proximity. What starts out as a gracious offer from a stranger suddenly practically explodes with the potential of so much more.
I received an advance listening copy of Lit for Him from the author. It was wonderful. Romantic, sexy, spicy, funny, ironic, just a great read with great characters and a very satisfying ending. You couldn’t ask for better narrators than Carly Robbins and William DeMeritt. Their voices just fit and they both bring their characters to life. Perfect pitch, pace, emotion, tenderness, shock and sadness and lots of heat. I recommend it without hesitation. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.
Lit for Him by Lainey Davis, masterfully narrated by Carly Robins and William DeMeritt, is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy, delivering a delightful and steamy Hanukkah romance that is a must-read for the holidays. It tells the story of Brian Klein, a high-powered, perpetually traveling sports agent, whose nomadic life is suddenly put on hold.
A harsh snowstorm strands Brian in Pittsburgh, leading him to take refuge in a charming local bookstore. He finds himself instantly captivated by the owner, Noa Bishop. She's curvy, brightly smiling, and completely rooted in her small-town life—the exact opposite of Brian.
The blizzard knocks out the power, creating the perfect cozy setting. Noa spontaneously offers Brian warmth and a place to stay. She shares her traditions, her tea, and sticky-sweet jelly donuts, quickly transforming a dreaded holiday delay into an incredible, low-angst night of passion.
While the night is unforgettable, their realities clash once the skies clear. Brian has to get back to his fast-paced life, while Noa is firmly planted. However, the connection they forged is too strong to ignore.
This sparks a journey where Brian must commit to significant personal change to prove his feelings are real. Noa, in turn, must believe that their impulsive connection has a future.
Davis beautifully integrates authentic Hanukkah traditions, such as lighting the Menorah and baking Challah bread, which add a sweet, cultural depth to their evolving relationship.
Brian becomes the ultimate book boyfriend, determined to grovel for his past mistakes. He uses Noa's heavily annotated romance novels as his guide, leading to deliciously spicy scenes—especially involving a book ladder and some cherry swirl candies.
If you love the witty, warm, and highly enjoyable style of authors like Tessa Bailey and Meghan Quinn, this novella is for you. The audiobook experience, enhanced by the brilliant performances of Carly Robins and William DeMeritt, makes this charming second-chance romance an even more compelling listen.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brian is the man who makes things happen and as the publicist for the infamous Stagg family, its no surprise. Its the first night of Hannukah and he is trying to grab a last minute gift before he heads to the airport, but didn't expect Noa, the beautiful curvy woman who owns the bookshop to knock him completely off kilter. When he gets stuck because of a winter storm, Noa takes him in for the night and the tension between them is THICK. But Brian likes the thickness so no one in this candlelit apartment is complaining! Feels emboldened by the circumstance, Noa makes her move and when these two fall into each other its delicious! After the storm passes and they have to part, they both feel lost. The never expected to develop feelings so strong so quickly for a stranger but when it feels right, it cant be ignored. Brian makes moves to try and have a chance with Noa and finally finds something and someone worth settling down for. Noa allows the whirlwind to whisk her away and have faith that Brian is all in, so she will be too. They are so head over heels for each other and its just perfect! This story was so sweet and romantic. It was swoony and the perfect example of when you know, you know! This story would honestly be an incredible Hallmark movie! Even if you had to remove the spice (which was so good btw!) it would translate into a beautiful story about two people finding each other in the must unorthodox of ways and sharing in traditions for the season that only made it that much easier for them to fall for each other. Its the epitome of an HEA and I absolutely loved it! Carly Robins and William DeMeritt were wonderful on this title. Carly is one of my favorite narrators and this performance was just another stunning example of her work. William is new to me but he did a fantastic job delivering a wonderful performance!
Brian Klein has been a sports agent for more than half his life. It’s nearly Hanukkah, and he needs to pick up a book his mother has been not-so-subtly hinting about. (The Unauthorized Biography of Noah Wylie? Really?) He manages to find the last copy at Bishop Books, where he’s also nearly struck dumb by the owner of the bookstore, a woman named Noa. As luck (or fate) would have it, his electric rental car is out of juice, a bad storm is approaching, and his flight is canceled, leaving him stranded at said bookstore.
Noa asks if he’d like to light the first night candle of her menorah, and invites him to her apartment above the shop. Their chemistry is clear, and they…enjoy each other throughout the night. He even makes challah bread for her. While shirtless.
Parting is such sweet sorrow, as Brian feels like Noa is someone special. But getting back to her isn’t an easy thing.
I’m really glad we finally get a Brian-centric story; the man has been the Stags’ sports agent for at least two generations of Stags, and has clients all over the country. There has never been enough exposition for him, and it’s great that the author has given us this lovely story. I haven’t always liked Brian, but I know he has always had his clients’ best interests as his first priority. But living out of a suitcase and staying in hotels isn’t satisfying.
I love that Noa gets him, and that’s something that’s established before they even get to the hot lovin’. It seems like Brian had never felt that before, and it broke my little heart.
I was rooting for this couple from the start, and though I’m not a religious person, I love that this is a Hanukkah romance. I think we need more of those, to represent different beliefs and balance out just how many Christmas romances come out in one year. So grab this book, eat some homemade jelly donuts, and enjoy.
Lainey Davis NEVER disappoints. This was such a sweet novella. I listened to this in one sitting and had so much fun listening to it. These characters were lovable and you can't help but fall in LOVE with them.
The narrators Carly Robins & William DeMeritt did a fantastic job telling Brian & Noa's story. They will keep you entertained and will hold your attention throughout the entire book.
When a snow storm strands a sports agent Brian in a charming bookstore, he thinks his holiday is ruined, But then he sees the beautiful curvy store owner Noa. When the blizzard knocks the power out these two will spend the evening sharing her traditions. Brian & Noa have a wonderful evening together but as soon as the roads clear he has to go back to his sports stars and she has no plans to ever leave here. So there is no way this could become something more.
But these two can't stop thinking about each other. As Brian is trying to work with non other then the STAGS he realizes he's missing more in life. He just wants to get back to Noa. Will these two be able to find away to make it work?!
I LOVED having the Stags be a part of this story. Brian will have you smiling and swooning like crazy. Noa is just the sweetest and deserves nothing but happiness. As these two figure things out you will have a blast listening to everything unfold. This story will have you falling in LOVE and you won't want this to be over so fast. I HIGHLY recommend this audiobook.
Thank you Lainey Davis & Home Cooked Books for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.
This book was absolutely adorable! I loved every cozy moment of it.
On his way to the airport, sports agent Brian stops at a local bookshop to pick up a book for his mother. It’s the first night of Hanukkah — a night he’s never missed — but a growing snowstorm might derail everything. Inside the store, he spots Noa reading to a group of children, and he’s instantly captivated. After her reading, she helps him find the perfect book, and they part ways… both feeling like they shared a moment that wasn’t meant to be more.
Until it is.
As Noa closes up shop, she finds Brian stranded outside — his electric car dead, the tow truck delayed for hours, and flights grounded. She offers him shelter and tea, and the spark between them becomes undeniable. Carly Robins and William DeMeritt bring these characters to life so beautifully in the audio that you can feel every bit of that electric pull.
Brian ends up staying the night, and what unfolds is magical and heartfelt. When he leaves the next morning, you can’t help but mourn what might have been — but Brian isn’t ready to let the night become just a memory. He’s determined to return to Pittsburgh, find Noa again, and discover whether their connection is once-in-a-lifetime or truly meant to last.
A warm, romantic Hanukkah story that will leave you smiling long after you finish. 🕯️💙
Tropes: Hanukkah Novella ONS Sports Agent/Bookstore Owner Age Gap- (45/32)
A sweet novella - one unexpected night stand turns to more in a Hanukkah story, when our main character is trapped by a snowstorm on the first night, saved by the kindness of a stranger.
I’m a major fan of Lainey Davis and especially her Stag family books (I’ve read many of her non-Stag books, too!), so to find out their beloved sports agent was getting his own sweet Hanukkah story was great news!
Brian and Noa’s story was just unexpected in the best ways - basically a confirmed bachelor living a nomadic lifestyle falling hard for a very settled, introverted bookstore owner, who just happens to have a connection to the Stag family herself. It’s like their romance was fated before the snowstorm forced them together!
I only rated this one 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Yes, I realize it’s a novella and intentionally short, but it truly felt like there was so much more story to be told, and more relationship building to be done (felt like a lot was missing or left out), and also because I was not a big fan of the male narrator. I absolutely love Carly Robins and she’s always a fantastic performer, but he left much to be desired (was a name I didn’t recognize and I’m pretty sure a voice I haven’t heard before) - I will leave it at that.
Thank you to the author and Home Cooked Books PR for the early listen copy. This is my honest feedback.
Lit for Him is a great holiday novella that really hits the spot, and gives us a chance to visit with the Staggs.
Brian is a busy sports agent who is totally taken by surprise by his instant connection with Noa, a bookshop owner that comes to his rescue when he's stranded during a snowstorm. The fact that he's missing his family Hanukkah celebration hits him hard, but Noa is ready to lite the candles, and they have an unforgettable night together. This has Brian reconsidering EVERYTHING that he's working for and doing with his light. Running from town to town, no real solid roots other than the Stagg family as his clients and friends. He's at a crossroads, and he knows it, realizes it, and goes for it!
Noa and Brian not only have amazing chemistry, but they are kindred spirits in what they want to do and what they want their life to be. While this is a novella, so it's short, Lainey Davis really does deliver on the feelings and emotions. The narration, by Carly Robins and William DeMeritt, enhances the writing and really helps deliver the gut punch that we know Brian experienced, and the spark that Noa felt.
Thank you Home Cooked Books and Lainey Davis for the ALC of this sweet Hanukkah Romance. 🎧 Narrated by Carly Robins and William DeMeritt
As a Jewish person, I really appreciated seeing Jewish characters and traditions represented so naturally in a romance. The inclusion of Hanukkah details, family warmth, and cultural identity added a layer of authenticity I don’t often see in holiday romances and that alone made me smile.
That said, while I loved the premise (snowed-in strangers, cozy bookstore, instant chemistry), the pacing felt a little too fast for my taste. I usually enjoy quick novellas, but here it almost rushed through the emotional development and resolution, leaving me wanting a bit more depth and tension between Brian and Noa.
Still, it’s a witty, warm, and undeniably steamy read that’s perfect if you’re looking for something festive, fun, and feel-good with meaningful cultural representation. Carly Robins and William DeMeritt did a lovely job bringing the story to life and the narration felt intimate and full of heart.
A sweet holiday escape with silver fox charm, bookish vibes, and deliciously cozy Hanukkah energy.
Lit for Him Snowed In and Falling Hard By: Lainey Davis Narrated by: Carly Robins, William DeMeritt
A book store in a snowstorm. Right then I was hooked to this novella! Disappointed he can't make it home for the first night of Hanukkah, Brian is stuck in a bookstore in Pittsburgh with owner Noa. She offers to have him enjoy her traditions and the two have a night of celebrations in more than one way. He finally makes it home, but he can't get her off his mind. Luckily, a lot of his work takes him to Pittsburgh where he can see her again. But does she feel the same? This is an instalove, holiday, Stagg filled story that just made me feel that excitement and love. Visiting with the Stagg family is just the bow on the present for me, and the love Brian and Noa nurture won my heart.
Carly Robins and WIlliam DeMeritt are a fabulous team and bringing this listen to life was just a treat for my ears. Together they give all the feels of that romantic snowstorm feel and they each fell into their characters creating a wonderful world. Bringing the holidays a little early, they are raising my excitement and made this an amazing listen.
What a delightful way to start off my holiday reads. This book is clearly a spin-off of her Stag Brothers series. Even though I have not read those books, I still loved this insta-love Hanukkah romance. Brian Klein is a workaholic, a nomadic sports agent of the Stag Brothers. When he ends up stranded at a bookstore in a snowstorm, his chemistry with book store owner Noa Bishop is off the charts.
The pacing of this novella was fast, but not forced. Lainey hit that perfect combination of to-the-point romance, without missing details or the relationship feeling fake or forced. The steamy parts were authentic and you fell in love with Brian and Noa together immediately.
The audio was awesome. Carly Robins knocked it out of the park as Noa, giving us the perfect bookstore owner. William DeMeritt was a new-to-me narrator, and I really enjoyed him as Brian. This narration was dual, which I think really highlights the gifts of both narrators. I really loved that this was a Jewish-centered story, narrated by Jewish narrators. Thank you to Home Cooked Books for the opportunity to listen and give my honest opinion.
This is the story of MMC Brian and FMC Noa. Brian meets Noa when he finds his way into her bookstore looking for a Hanukkah gift for his mom on the first night of Hanukkah. He finds what he needs, has his meet cute with Noa, and then when he tries to leave snow is falling and his electric vehicle is dead. Noa invites him into her home to celebrate with her. One thing leads to another… This was a novella so I did feel like the spice hit quickly, but that was to be expected when you’ve only got 120 pages to tell the story! I enjoyed that this one was a quick read, but I think I would have equally enjoyed it being a full length novel. This was unique that it was a Hanukkah story. I spent meany December’s reading Christmas novels, so this was a refreshing change. Carly Robins and William DeMerritt narrated the audiobook and I thought they did a great job. I thought their voices were appropriate for the characters and brought both of the MC’s to life. MMC Brian is a side character as the sports agent for some of the other characters written by this author. I didn’t feel like I missed out not having previously read any of those stories.
Charming Hanukkah festive romance - delicious! We know Brian, the bombastic and nomadic sports agent from Lainey Davis' Stag family universe but this stands alone. Brian has lived out of his suitcase negotiating and travelling with his clients, who are primarily professional sports people for years, and hasn't had a problem with the lifestyle. This all changes when he gets stranded in wintry Pittsburgh and meets Noa in her wonderful bookstore. They get it on in a blackout when Noa impulsively offers Brian a place to stay.
They are both single and it's relatively low-angst as they get together. Brian has to make a lot of change to make it happen while Noa has to believe that this impulsive thing has legs, and that she is worth it.
All the faith (?) aspects were new to me, so the traditions of family dinner and lighting Menorah candles and baking Challah bread were so interesting – traditions that Lainey incorporated as sweet detail, and not instruction.
I read an e-copy of Lit for Him. Thank you Lainey Davis for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
🕎Hanukkah ❄️Over 30s MCs 🕎Snowed in ❄️One night 🕎Novella ❄️Fall hard and fast 🌶️2
🎧Dual narration by Carly Robins & William DeMerrit 🎧Audio performance: 5/5
This was so cute! A quick, happy listen is something that I will never say no to. I love seeing older MCs get their happily ever afters and this was exactly what I needed. I’m not Jewish, but I loved the representation this had! You see mostly Christmas novels this time of year, so it was a nice change to read about other traditions families have, and I always love to expand my knowledge and consumption.
The narrators were great too! I thought William was the perfect voice for Brian, our silver fox business only man. He had that lovely growl in his voice that I love to hear from older men ;) and Carly was great as Noa! She felt like a real person that I could’ve met in a bookstore, and I love when I’m pulled into the story like that.
You’ll like this novella if you want a quick, low-stakes, holiday romance with a little spice.
Thank you Lainey and Home Cooked Books for this ALC! 🩷
Lit for Him: Snowed In and Falling Hard is a spicy holiday novella from Lainey Davis. Brian Klein is the sports agent for the many Stag athletes we have loved from Ms. Davis. He spends more time in hotels on the road than at home. Noa left the business world to take over her grandmother's bookshop and loves every minute of it. It's amazing to me how authors can put SO much emotion and passion into these short bits of enjoyment (novellas). He's a nomad, she's a homebody, but their chemistry is heating up the sheets! Loved, loved, loved this. It's funny, heartwarming, steamy, and definitely will put you in the holiday spirit. Can't tell you how excited I was when I found out I'd be hearing more from the Stag family!!
The dual narration was fantastic! Carly Robins is a favorite narrator of mine. William Demeritt is a new to me narrator and man, he is so good! These two made this story a Hallmark-after-dark movie in my head!! So, so good. 5/5 magical stars! 🌟
Brian is a successful sports agent who is driven to succeed and has earned the loyalty of his clients by always being where he is needed. He is close to his family but as a result of his career love and relationships have never been part of her life. When a snowstorm and car trouble leaves him stranded he spends a night with Noa will have him reassessing his life.
Noa is the owner of the bookstore and meets Brian when he comes in to buy a book for his mother. She lives above the bookstore so when she realizes that Brian is stranded she invites him in not expecting more than one night with him as he doesn’t even live in town however they both realize that one night is not enough.
I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Brian and Noa develop as they both realized they were destined to be together and catching up with the Stag family is always entertaining. Carly Robbins does a great job in giving us insight into Noa while William DeMerritt showed the evolution of Brian’s character as he realized the future he wanted.
A quick, novella sized romance read / listened. Well written and narrated, this holiday themed romance is just the right balance of sweet and steam. Our main characters are bookshop owner Noa Bishop and sports agent Brian Klein. When a snowstorm traps these two together a night of passion that neither can forget ensues. I love that Brian flips his normal nonstop life on its head for the chance of being with Noa and while throughout the book / listen both realize the speed at which their courtship is progressing is crazy, neither care enough to slow the roll. While I really liked the characters and storyline, I did feel it was rushed and would have liked more but overall, I found this to be a sweet and steamy, feel-good romance with Hanukkah holiday celebrations to really light the way...

This was such a good holiday romance. I don't think I've ever read a book set around Hanukkah instead of Christmas before, and it was a refreshing change from the norm.
I haven't read an insta lust/love book in a while, and this story made me realize how much I've missed reading that trope. Brian and Noa came together by chance during the first day of Hanukkah, and their connection was instant and so intense that Brian changed his whole lifestyle to be able to have a relationship with Noa.
The story was fast-paced, steamy, and heartwarming, and the narrators were absolutely fantastic.
Quote: “I may have wandered the world for decades, but I was always heading here. To this quiet moment, this soft shelter, this woman who became my home.”
Audio Review: Lit For Him is sports agent Brian Klein and bookstore owner Noa Bishop’s sweet and spicy Hanukkah romance. I loved this story and I loved the characters and it didn’t take me long to become invested in their journey. A snowstorm has left Brian stranded in Pittsburgh where he takes refuge in a local bookstore. From the moment he meets Noa sparks fly and what was meant to be one night soon turns into so much more……. The power goes out and the fun begins. This is a well written, entertaining listen that drew me in Cand didn’t let me go until I had listened to the final line. Carly Robins and William DeMeritt did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the banter, the passion and the humour but more importantly they were easy to listen to.
Brian Klein is due home for Hanukkah but his electric car battery has died. He stops into a book store to pick up a book desired by his mother but when the power goes out, he knows he's stranded. The bookstore owner, Noa, lets him stay. They are attracted to each other and find the attraction incredibly strong. So much so that they can't stop thinking about each other.
Luckily, as a sports agent with many clients in Pittsburgh, Brian finds a way to come back to conduct business and see Noa again. The tug is so strong that he wants to see more and more of her.
This is a wonderful holiday novella about finding love, and previously undiscovered life desires. I enjoyed reading a holiday story with a different slant.
Seriously you had me at steamy Hanukkah romance… This book was so fun! Brian Klein (workaholic sports agent) gets stranded in a bookshop during a snowstorm with the curvy and fun Noa Bishop (bookshop owner). From there things get pretty hot and heavy. What starts as a one night fling turns into something more. I loved seeing some of the Jewish traditions and the family moments. Carly Robins and William DeMeritt did an excellent job with the audio. I don't think I’ve listened to anything by them before but I will definitely keep them on my radar. Overall, this was a fun short novella perfect for the holiday season! 3.5⭐ I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
What a delightful treat - a steamy Hanukkah novella with all my favorite Pittsburgh characters! Not that you need to have read any of the other stories with the Stags, but it's about time the overworked Brian got something for himself! It IS a novella, so there's not a lot of time before you get into the action, but that's A-OK with me! You still get to know each character, probably better than they get to know each other, and get swept up in their immediate connection. So if your looking for a different kind of holiday treat, treat yourself to this book!
I received an advanced copy of the book and am leaving an honest review.
