Love wasn’t on the itinerary. Maddie Parker is not here for meet-cutes or midair flirtation—she’s here for a bachelorette weekend, a speech that won’t make her cry, and an aisle seat as far from chaos as possible. What she didn’t plan for? Reed Jones. Charming. Infuriatingly unbothered. And seated directly beside her at 30,000 feet. When they reconnect on the flight home and agree to help each other with their wedding speeches, what starts as reluctant teamwork turns into long texts, inside jokes, and slow-burning sparks she’s not equipped to handle. But Maddie doesn’t do messy. She does calendars, contingency plans, and emotional distance. And Reed? He might be the one person who makes her want to throw it all out the emergency exit. Flight Risk is a flirty, heartfelt romance about letting go, taking chances, and finding the right person through the turbulence.
This book was super cute!! Super grateful to have been gifted a copy 🥹 Flight Risk is fast paced and easy to fly through (no pun intended haha). Super enjoyable and I would recommend if you're looking for something quick, funny, and feel-good 🫶🏼 Definitely early 2000's romcom vibes ✨ LOVE a good meet-cute
Maggie's writing was chef's kiss 🤌🏼 Genuinely had me laughing out loud. The cadence of the humor was priceless– the jokes landed every time. Also, loved her descriptions of emotions because capturing that without "telling" can be so tricky.
Maddie's anxious/overthinking tendencies and need to plan ahead was so real and easy to relate to. Sometimes in books, this kind of arc can be overdone but Maddie was portrayed in a way that felt so authentic. Loved her and was super proud of her growth. Reed was also super lovable and so patient. Love me an emotionally intelligent mmc who isn't unrealistic. I mean, they gotta have at least one red flag, right?? Reed was giving me Miles from Funny Story flashbacks (in all the good ways and the lone triggering one LOL).
Also– I really loved the girlhood that was captured in this story. Liv was such a real friend and I appreciated that that form of love was explored & celebrated too. Genuine friendship is such a beautiful, pure form of love 💕
Definitely pick this one up!! Especially if you need a palette cleanser!!
Maggie Carucci’s debut novel! Romance fans read it! Perfect for cozing up with as a hectic year starts to winds down. I loved spending time with all of the characters and loved that i was able to submerge into the story so easily that i’d be laughing one minute and in the next have a tear in my damn eye.
easy 5 star read omg!!! Maggie your writing is just so beautiful I mean seriously! These characters are so relatable and real. I adored Maddie and relate to her so much. I loved how Reed and her made each other better. Such a sweet and wholesome read! The female friendships in this book were also so beautiful. I loved how supportive they were to eachother
heartfelt, relatable, funny, clever and entertaining from start to finish. a testament to figuring out love and life in your 20s. maggie knows how to convey complex emotions/characters in such a funny and endearing way!! feel honored to have my name attached to this 😘
as an anxious girl, i totally related with maddie. it was nice to read about how reed loved her overthinking self. it was very cute that he understood her.
Wow!! Never did I think a cute romance would move me to tears on multiple occasions! Maggie’s book is truly a story for the girls who feel like they’re always chosen last. A testament to love being messy, but how waiting for the right one is worth it!💕
Really 3.5 stars rounded up. Maddie really reminds me of myself. An overthinker and a definitely a little neurotic. Reed definitely gives the vibe of too good to be true. I guess is faux pas communication balances him out. Overall, Flight Risk was cute and exactly what I was looking for. And Liv is a real one. Get a friend like Liv
