Secrets. Lies. A legacy of violence.
Ashleigh has been living in fear for too long. She has one chance at Play along. Strike Back. And finish what she started.
I literally could not stop reading. I was hooked straight from the beginning, and nearly finished it in one sitting. Some aspects reminded me of the Dark Verse series by RunyX, but this story is an entirely different universe and I'm so happy I got to be absorbed in Ashleigh's story.
I loved the different POVs, and the plot twists had me staring at the ceiling, questioning everything I thought I knew. The mental health aspect was really fun to read and clever. The ending was awesome, and it leaves room for another book, which I would be happy to devour once again. Also, some characters deserve a special place in Hell. I can't wait to read more of this author's writing!
I had the pleasure of receiving an arc copy of this book.
I must say, it was a great book. The plot alone is intriguing, intense but also sweet at moments. The characters are complex and deep, the relationship’s Ashleigh cultivated throughout are all so different but so important later on.
Just when you think you know how the story is going to unfold, the author throws a spanner in the works and a whole new situation needs to be solved.
Overall the book is incredible and I highly recommend reading it if you love dark and twisted stories.
Usually not a thriller fan but this one was good and I got hooked from the very beginning! It is suspenseful, with a well led plot and a thousand questions that keep us on the edge of our seat until the very end.
