I defied him before the court—now he’s determined to own my fate.

Born without Aether in a realm carved by it, I was never meant to matter. While others rose as Hunters, binding Telmoria’s Aether-born creatures to their will, I scrubbed their halls and learned that hope was its own cruelty.

Until the Trial.

When a royal showcase of power spirals into chaos, a beast no Hunter can command turns on the crowd—and chooses me. To survive, I do the impossible: I defy the Heir of Atlassian himself.

My defiance should have ended in death. Instead, it binds me to Damien Azarios—the Realm’s coldest blade, a sovereign-in-waiting who bows to no one. He should despise me. He should destroy me.

But he cannot stop wanting me.

As ancient beasts rise and Atlassian power trembles, our forbidden bond may become the spark that burns the world—or remakes it.

If you love Carissa Broadbent’s high-stakes tournaments (The Serpent and the Wings of Night), Danielle L. Jensen’s ruthless royals (The Bridge Kingdom), and the lyrical magic of Margaret Rogerson (An Enchantment of Ravens), you’ll be swept away by Aether & Ash, the first book in the Reigns of Telmoria series.

Fabins is a fantasy romance author with a weakness for slow burns and a fierce love of character-driven stories. A software engineer by day and a storyteller by obsession, she balances logic and longing with the precision of someone who has probably overthought both.

When she isn't drafting, she is likely halfway across the world (wandering somewhere unfamiliar), arguing passionately about things that don't pay bills or reading (either swooning over fictional characters or hurling the book at the nearest cushion after a terrible twist).

She (thinks she) has a knack for sketches and paintings, but singing is the one thing she's fairly sure she does better. She's also a devoted PC gamer, especially fond of first-person shooters, where she can aggressively defend her honor against random gamers who steal her kills, camp shamelessly or somehow blame her for the team losing. (the audacity!)

This book had a lot of themes I really enjoyed and was super hard to put down. Once I started, flipping pages felt effortless!

The initial chapters are simple and easy to get into, but the story then builds into unique magic systems, complex politics and twists that lead to a truly unexpected ending! 👀

There's our devoted MMC, Damien Azarios (swoon) and a fierce FMC- Mirabelle, set in a colourful yet dark fantasy world. Mirabelle starts off as a commoner and pretty clueless. But that makes total sense. She’s an orphan who spent her life doing chores for rich people until she was 19 (with no real exposure to the world). Given her background and age, her inexperience felt very realistic. Watching her grow after finally getting an opportunity (both as a person and in her relationship with the MMC) was one of my favorite parts. She’s inexperienced in everything, including relationships and the story actually explores that in a way that feels natural.

Still, she’s fierce and doesn’t tolerate disrespect when it comes to her dignity (Oohh I loved that about her ❤️‍🔥). Her insecurity in the beginning makes sense too. If someone with her past just showed up fully confident, it would've felt weird and unrealistic.
The MMC is protective and possessive (I love a few good jealous moments, sue me 😌). And he's hot. 🖤 And matured. 🖤 And did I say hot? 🖤 And the way he handles her breakdowns, emotions and insecurities. 🖤❤️

Watching a cold, emotionally closed-off man slowly start to feel (and feel deeply) was sooooo satisfying. Some of their moments made me melt.🫠

The story has just the right amount of emotional pain, political drama, shocking twists and a really interesting magic system with creatures, hunting, and world-building that kept things exciting.

It's a slow burn( from attraction to love), even though they’re attracted to each other from the start. The slow burn was done really well because you can clearly see how they go from attraction to genuinely falling in love. 🥺❤️

The way the MMC falls (🤌) had me swooning over some lines and inner thoughts.

I’m not spoiling anything, even though I really want to rant about a few scenes. I just need part two already...my hands are itching to start it.

I thought the plot of this book was pretty solid, and the story got more interesting toward the end of the book. The beginning was a bit confusing at times. I think I would have enjoyed a little more world building to better grasp the different regions and their inhabitants.

I enjoyed quite a few of the secondary characters, but unfortunately I did not care for the FMC or the MMC very much. I liked Mirabelle at times, especially when she was connecting to the creatures, but I did not enjoy her over the top jealousy. I really did not like the MMC, Damien. He came off as jealous, controlling, extremely possessive and prone to anger. If you enjoy the touch her/him and die trope then you will probably like them more than I did.

Overall, the storytelling was pretty great and the twists at the end made the plot much more interesting. I think I would have rated this higher if I had connected with the main characters more.

I received an eARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.

4.5⭐️- I love that Mirabelle (the FMC) is hard-headed and strong. I love that Damien (the MMC) is also strong, but soft at the right times. Great characters!

The magic was great. The creatures were a great addition. The secrets, lies, and betrayals were exactly what I like in most of the books I read! The ending tore me apart! If you enjoy romantasy, I recommend this one!

Thank you Fabins and Netgalley for this advance copy 🔥 My rating is 4.5/5 🌟
This book was an amazing fantasy adventure! It was funny, dark, intriguing, spicy, with magical world-building and a plotline full of mysteries and political intrigue.
In a world where wielding Aether came with status, Mirabelle was born powerless, a commoner bound to scrub linens. I really liked her character; she was so straightforward, and her thoughts and responses were always a bit childish, but so fun to read! She wasn't all that naive for a 19-year-old.
Damien, on the other hand, was more complex, being the Young Sovereign Heir and older. I also enjoyed his POV, but the almost insta-love could’ve been maybe a "little less" insta 😅 Still, their relationship was really interesting to read nonetheless! They had a lot of ups and downs, too many secrets and half-truths, but that was mostly because they had a really hard time trusting each other, not because they wanted to be deceptive ❣️
Fabin’s descriptions of the Realms and the creatures were truly amazing. I absolutely enjoyed them and was completely immersed in this fantastic world. The magic system was just as fascinating; although I’d love to know more about it, about all the powers they can wield, about every Clan and their differences, and about the Tameable and Untameable creatures.
And the ending! We knew something was coming… but that was brutal! And I loved it! Obviously, I was left craving more ❤️‍🔥 I spent my whole Sunday reading this book! I couldn’t put it down, and I wish there was more of it! So now I'll be "patiently" waiting for the sequel 👀

These are the Tropes you'll find inside this story:
🖤 Dark Fantasy Story
🍃 Elemental Magic
⚔️ Deadly Trials
🔥 Intense Romance
❤️‍🔥 Devoted MMC
💀 Fierce FMC
🐲 Terrifying Otherworldly Creatures
💔 Secrets & Deceptions
🗡️ Torture & Lots of Gore

Quotes that I loved:

"Look at me, problem solver, tactical genius." 😅

"The vines look.. exceptionally green today." 🍃🔥

"Highs have a cruel way of masking the inevitable fall, lulling you into a fleeting sense of security, making you believe, even if only for a moment, that you can hold onto them forever. But the crash always comes. And when it does, it doesn't simply pull you back down, it RIPS you from the sky, slamming you into the ground so hard, you forget you ever believed in flight.
I should have seen it coming." 💔

I am such a glutton for romances like this.

Let's start with Damien Azarios. I fell so hard for him. I mean.. I cannot resist a jealous/possessive MMC who would burn the world for his woman. I loved every "OMG" thing about him.

The plot, worldbuilding and storyline: stunning. I could literally picture everything in my head. Plus, there were tons of fresh ideas I haven't seen/read before, so flipping the pages felt like riding a rollercoaster of excitement.

Drama? Oh yeahh, plenty.
Did I love it? Ofc I did.

There is a better version of "Who did this to you"
There is "touch her and die"
He falls first..
He falls hard..
Give me these and I am down bad for a man who doesn't exist.

Plus point: he is stoic but turns soft only for her and She. Is. Sassy.

The FMC's POV was so real.. she didn't magically snap out of her insecurities and become a queen in a day. Nope. She took her time, found her guts and watching her journey was absolutely delicious.

Safety for readers like me: No cheating, no sharing, no love triangles. There's a bit of OW/OM drama, but it's mild and just enough to make you feel a bit of jealousy, but it never actually threatens the their relationship. Chef's kiss for safe angst.

Spicy scenes: Not too many, but the way they were written made my toes curl in a wholesome way.

But the ending… bruhhh. Come on! Now I need book two like.. rn. There's literally a whole door opened in it for more drama and I am HERE for it.

No complaints from me. (Yeah i love good dramas).

Overall? Easily my best read of 2026 so far.
Ending: cliffhanger.

Aether & Ash is a beautifully atmospheric and immersive read, blending dark fantasy elements with intricate worldbuilding and emotionally resonant characters. Fabins has a talent for crafting a story that feels both expansive and intimate, drawing the reader into a world that is rich in detail and full of subtle wonder.

One of the book’s strongest features is its worldbuilding and magic system. The setting feels vivid and lived-in, with rules and lore that are carefully constructed without overwhelming the reader. The imagery throughout is evocative, from shadowed landscapes to flickering candlelit interiors, giving the story a moody, immersive tone.

The characters are complex and relatable, each carrying secrets, motivations, and vulnerabilities that make them compelling. The protagonist’s journey is layered with both internal and external conflict, and the relationships throughout the story add depth, tension, and emotional resonance.

The pacing is generally strong, balancing action and introspection, though at times certain passages lingered a bit on description, slightly slowing the momentum. Additionally, while the plot is engaging and inventive, some twists could have landed with more impact.

Overall, Aether & Ash is a captivating dark fantasy read, rich in atmosphere, character depth, and imaginative storytelling. It’s a strong four-star book for readers who enjoy moody, immersive worlds and stories that blend adventure with emotional complexity.

Rating: 3/5 ⭐️

The story follows Mirabelle, a commoner who catches the attention of Damien, the kingdom’s heir. He brings her into his inner circle to help train his soldiers, an unusual role for someone of her status. As they work together, it becomes clear Damien’s interest goes beyond strategy and that Mariebelle is more than she appears. When the looming war arrives sooner than expected, they’re forced to fight for their kingdom and confront what’s growing between them.

I was torn on how to rate this. Until about 30% in, I struggled to understand what was happening. The world building felt minimal and dropped me straight into the story; things only began to click once the MMC POV was introduced.

The FMC fell flat for me. She felt one-dimensional and overly insecure, with jealousy that gave me the ick. It’s hinted that she did things prior to meeting Damien that caught his attention, and I wish the book had explored that earlier to better develop her character.

The concept of portals, Aether, and linking with creatures was interesting. I think this story had good bones and midway to the end I started to get into the story!

The ending was absolutely wild! I didn’t see it coming and it definitely leaves you with a lot of questions!!

Highly Recommend

I just finished a fantasy romance that checked so many of my favorite boxes: elemental magic, a fierce and capable heroine, a territorial “touch her and die” male lead, epic battles, and a commoner-meets-royalty dynamic that actually works.

The story drew me in right away with its worldbuilding and magic system. It’s definitely a slow burn—both romantically and in pacing—but once things picked up, I had a hard time putting it down. There were a few quieter stretches in the middle where the momentum dipped, but they didn’t take away from the overall experience. If anything, they gave the characters and stakes more room to breathe before everything ramped up.

The yearning between the main characters is what really hooked me. That tension builds steadily and makes you fall for the male main character right along with her. The chemistry feels earned, and when the spice finally increases toward the end, it lands well because of all that simmering emotional buildup. The action scenes are vivid and high stakes, and the creativity in the magic and political conflict kept me invested.

That cliffhanger includes a trope I’m not usually a fan of, but the story had me hooked enough that I’m fully committed. I’ll absolutely be picking up book two.

Overall: creative, action-packed, and worth the slow burn. Highly recommend for readers who love elemental magic, intense loyalty, and romance that builds before it explodes.

Aether & Ash is a high-stakes, "diamond in the rough" Romantasy. The world-building—centered on a hierarchy of Aether and the dangerous "Hunters" who bind magical beasts—is incredibly immersive. Mirabelle is a fantastic, defiant protagonist who starts as a seemingly powerless commoner and ends up entangled in a royal showcase that spirals into a visceral, shadow-drenched chaos.

The heart of the book is the agonizingly slow-burn romance between Mirabelle and Damien, the Realm’s "coldest blade." Their chemistry is built on beautiful confessions and deep emotional monologues that make their forbidden bond feel earned rather than rushed. I loved the psychological depth of being inside the characters' heads as they navigate a world where magic is a weapon and secrets "coil out of the skin" like living shadows.

The unique creature-taming system adds a cinematic layer to the plot, building toward a heart-wrenching cliffhanger that leaves the political fate of Telmoria hanging in the balance. Though it’s a bit raw in places, the ambition and emotional payoff make it a gripping read.

Fair warning: the cliffhanger is absolutely brutal—it leaves so many betrayals and secrets. It left me desperate for book two the moment I hit the final page.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a masterclass in dark fantasy romance — rich world-building, morally gray characters, and a tension that practically leaps off the page. The setting feels alive, full of magic, danger, and secrets, and the stakes are constantly high. Every choice matters, and you feel the weight of it with every chapter.

The heroine is fierce, smart, and refuses to be sidelined. Watching her navigate this treacherous world while discovering her own power is deeply satisfying. She’s vulnerable when it counts but never powerless — exactly the kind of protagonist you root for.

The romance is slow-burning, full of tension, and absolutely addictive. The male lead is broody, intense, and morally complicated — the kind of dark hero who’s impossible to resist. Their dynamic is electrifying: dangerous, push-and-pull chemistry, and just enough vulnerability to make every moment land emotionally.

What makes this book stand out is the balance between dark fantasy and romance. There’s adventure, intrigue, and moral complexity, but the emotional beats hit just as hard as the action. Every twist, reveal, and confrontation adds layers to both the plot and the relationship, keeping you hooked until the very last page.

Out of the ashes and into the fire again! 4.5 ⭐️

Mirabelle, is a commoner with no aether who through her out spokeness finds herself in the palace as a reporter. Damien, heir to the Sovereign is enamoured with her, ensuring she is kept safe. Unbeknownst to her she does have aether but has not been trained in how to use it. She follows the hunting party believing Damien is in danger, and ends up on the wrong side of the clan deemed a traitor. Will she be able to prove her innocence? Will they save their clan? That’s all I’m giving you folks 😜

𝐼𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝑒𝒶𝓃𝓉𝒾𝓂𝑒, 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝓌𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝓈𝓉𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝒽𝒶𝒹𝑜𝓌𝓈. 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝑜𝓃𝑒𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓈𝓁𝒾𝒹 𝑜𝓊𝓉 𝑜𝒻 𝓂𝓎 𝓈𝓀𝒾𝓃 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓈𝑒𝒸𝓇𝑒𝓉𝓈, 𝒸𝓊𝓇𝓁𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒸𝑜𝒾𝓁𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒶 𝓂𝒾𝓃𝒹 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝒾𝓇 𝑜𝓌𝓃.💨

There was so much to take in within this story, the slow build up of their relationship, the devastation, the betrayals, for it to all end up lost in the ether. The narrative throughout was descriptive, guaranteeing you visualise the world and its clans. The creatures; tameable and untameable were described to ensure you built their image in your head. Totally need the next book especially that ending 💔

3.5 stars and 3 spice rating.

The characters of the book are complex, each with their own motives and desires.
Mirabelle is in a new world and trying to find her place. Damien has the weight of a clan on his shoulders and must figure out who to trust. Izmer is a wild card that seems to lurk in the shadows and appears when Mirabelle needs help. I would like to learn more about him.
The plot felt like I missed something. I read chapter 1-15 twice because I was super confused about what happened and how we got there... I really enjoyed it when it made sense but I felt like there was something major I missed.
The world building was done well. I like that there was the two realms that most of the book is based in. The descriptions were really well done and I could picture things well.
The main theme I got from the book was a bond that they couldn't figure out. or at least Maribelle couldn't figure out. Damien seemed to know what was going on, as well as the other nobles and majors.
Overall I enjoyed the book. towards the end there was a major twist that had me wondering what the hell happened. And the end of book plot twist has made me want the next book.

✨🔥 Aether & Ash by Fabins | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (4.5/5) | eBook via NetGalley🔥✨

𝑨𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 & 𝑨𝒔𝒉, the first installment in the 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂series, is a hauntingly beautiful dive into a realm carved by magic—and cruelty. Fabins crafts a world where Aether is power, and those born without it are forgotten. Enter Mirabelle, a girl raised in the shadows of the Hunters’ estates, who defies fate when a royal Trial spirals into chaos and a beast chooses her. Her act of survival binds her to Damien Azarios, the coldest blade of Clan Atlassian, and sets off a chain of events steeped in romance, devastation, and betrayal.

The worldbuilding is lush and immersive, with the concept of Aether and its creature-born magic feeling fresh and deeply layered. Fabins doesn’t shy away from the darker edges of fantasy—this story is brutal, seductive, and emotionally charged. If you’re craving a tale that blends lyrical prose with high-stakes tension and forbidden desire, this one’s for you.

Thank you to Fabins for the opportunity to read this ahead of release day. Aether & Ash hits shelves January 27th, 2026—don’t miss it.

This is not normally my genre of reading however, I was intrigued by the blurb and felt like trying something different and I certainly got that. I initially struggled with the world building, purely because there is no real explanation of what Aether is, and you are dropped straight into a new reality.

There is a slow burn love story woven throughout the book, though the male main character is much older than the female main character, who at 19 can feel a little immature at times. She does stand up for herself, but she is also sassy, jealous, and could really benefit from communicating more.

Outside of the romance, there is an excellent and complex story of political intrigue involving Elders, Royals, and Commoners, along with friendships, betrayals, shifting alliances, and enemies. All of this comes together into a well-rounded story with a massive twist at the end that leaves some very big questions needing answers. While I’m not normally a fan of cliff-hangers, this one was impressively done.

For a debut novel, this was well worth reading.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a surprising hidden gem! This was such a great read. It sucked me in right away. Although I did have some confusion within the first few chapters; the more I read the easier the story fell into place.
This book is unique fantasy journey with dark themes, complex political intrigue, a unique magic system, unique magical creatures, mystery and some unexpected twists with secrets, lies and betrayal. The world building was immersive, with vivid detail and teeming with danger. The characters are complex and deeply crafted. The chemistry and romance between the MCs was palpable. The plot is so intriguing and intricate and I found myself devouring this book in no time. Fabins writing, in my humble opinion, is lyrical and easy to read with words that just flow effortlessly. I am so glad I took a chance on this book. With that ending, I am thoroughly looking forward to the next book!

LOVE!!!

I received this as an ARC read, and I loved it.

I met a heroine who would not bow, fierce, headstrong, carved from fire and defiance. I met a man who loves her obsessively, dangerously, even when he believed she betrayed him. Every glance burned, every silence screamed, and every moment between them felt like magic on the brink of ruin. They remined me that love doesn't fade, even when trust shatters. I felt it in my bones.

And then, they hit me with a plot twist, it hurts!!!

I am unwell.

Other than that, I am completely invested, to see what Mirabelle does with the Tameables and how that will build. Also to learn about her real family, hopefully. Then she needs to found out how to fix that plot twist mannnnnnnnn, this cannot be happening, LOL.

Tropes:
High-Stakes Tournament/Trials
Magic/Creature Elements
Fantasy/Romantasy
Touch he and d*e
Lovers to Enemies to binding

I will highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this books right from the start! I loved the unique magic system, the second worlds they go into and the passion between the 2 main characters. Mirabelle is a strong headed FMC, with a sharp tongue but also a kind heart. The friendship between her and Amara was fun to read, as Amara herself was a fun character with her love of drama! Damien, oh that man would truly burn the world for Mirabelle. While at some times it came of as a little to strong, for the fact that they had just recently met, it was still a very good rendition of the "touch her and _" trope. The world building in the book was fantastic! I could truly see the new other world and the ideas in this book were ones I had not seen in others. Towards the end is where things really start to pick up then BAM that ending?!?!? I truly cannot wait for the next books where we get to see more of the character complex layers, dive deeper into some of their secrets and past, and explore the magic system more!

Aether & Ash took over my life and held me captive in the best possible way. Fabins delivers rich worldbuilding, magic that feels both mysterious and natural, and characters with real emotions. I loved how the story balanced action with quieter, character driven moments of tenderness—every chapter felt purposeful and pulled me deeper in.
The atmosphere is incredible. You can feel the tension simmering between the characters, the danger lurking at the edges of the world, and the slow reveal of the lore that makes everything feel so alive. Nothing is rushed, nothing is wasted. There is love, violence and power plays that keep you guessing.
By the time I turned the last page, I was fully invested and already wishing for more. Completing the book felt unacceptable, so I already pre-ordered the next one. If you love immersive fantasy with strong character arcs and vivid storytelling, this one is an absolute gem. Go find it!
Highly recommend to anyone who loves losing themselves in a beautifully built world.

IT WAS REALLY, REALLY GOOD! The romance was such a slow burn for a non-enemies-to-lovers book. I'm obsessed with them!

The confessions... especially the way the feelings are described are so beautifully written. I could actually feel how much they affected each other, and I loved being inside the MCs heads and understanding what they were thinking. That’s my favorite thing in a book.

And the worldbuilding is intriguing and UNIQUE! Nice trials and Hunts. I'd love to see more of the Tameable scenes. Also, the story leaves a lot of political intrigue and unexpected turns of events.

Loved the relationship between Amara and Bella.

THE WAY THE BOOK ENDED, OMG! I need to read book 2 right now!

3 stars. ARC received in exchange for an honest review. if you asked me what happened in the first 30ish% of this book, i genuinely wouldn't be able to tell you. the plot itself felt messy and a bit disjointed and i was confused for a majority of it. it got more bearable around the 60% mark but i think this could do with a bit more editing and more extensive worldbuilding, because the story itself has potential. i didn't care much about the romance and i was more interested in side characters and the Tameables than anything else. overall, though, i did enjoy the book, which is why i'm giving it 3 stars. it's decent.

miscommunication trope u are the bane of my existence.

This book took me in the biggest adventure of 2026! Every twist, tune, and snarky remark was just as unpredictable as the last. I love a strong, defiant FMC. I was inspired by Mirabelle and her inability to adhere to tradition and cower to power. I had to scrape my jaw off the ground during the last chapter. Another absolute earth shattering moment. I’m not usually one to reach for novels in the fantasy section but I am fully invested in this story and in these characters! I have to know what comes next.

Thank you so much for allowing me a spot on the arc team! This one was truly a pleasure.

Thank you to NetGalley/the publisher/the author for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, I did DNF at about 15%. I wanted to make it to at least the 50% mark, but this book was just bad. I can’t even think of a single positive except that the cover was pretty and the MMCs singular chapter was somewhat tolerable.
The FMC was so insufferable I want nothing but terrible things to happen to her. I get it, she’s 19, she’s still a kid, but oh my gods she was awful.
The plot was…uh… Well, I think there was a plot. Maybe. Possibly? I couldn’t tell you what it was. “Oh, but 15% is too early to know the plot!” Babe. If I can’t figure out what’s happening at the 15% mark it’s not looking good.
The worldbuilding was…something. Sure, I didn’t get far enough to properly understand it, but what I DID see was so confusing and inconsistent. Nothing was explained.
I hate the FMC so much I hope she just suffers. I’m glad I DNF’d because I suspect the entire “plot” would hinge on her naive stupidity.

Aether & Ash pulled me in fast. This world is built on power, magic, and control, and then there’s Mirabelle—who supposedly has none of it… or so everyone thinks. She’s a total badass, exactly how I like my FMCs, and watching her constantly be underestimated while still defying expectations (and powerful men 👀) was so freaking satisfying.
The tension with Damien is sharp and addictive, the stakes are high, and the magic feels dangerous in the best way. There’s political intrigue, forbidden energy, and that slow-burn intensity that keeps you turning pages. Overall, this was a great ARC read and I really enjoyed it. 🖤🔥📚

I've been heavily reading fantasy genre books for over a year now. Some I have loved, and some I have hated.
Aether and Ash had me hooked from the very beginning! This was such a fun adventure!! The creatures were unique and so was the world in general. I was kicking my feet and giggling during a few scenes. But..... The ending ripped my heart out and left me wanting more!!!! Needless to say, I absolutely CAN NOT wait for the next book. Thank you so much Fabins, for writing this adventurous story.

Mirabelle is a commoner who as we know came from nothing, she catches the attention Damien the heir of Atlassian. They meet by her standing up to the royals and that’s when Damien chooses her to help foresee the Majors. This book had me hooked since the beginning and it just got better and better! Mirabelle realizes she has some powers she didn’t know she had. The chemistry was go great between them but that cliffhanger was like what!!!! Excited to see when the next one is out!

3.5 stars! I loved the magical elements in this book and how everything developed as I got deeper. I was a bit confused in the beginning trying to discern what everything meant and making connections, but it eventually got there. I love that the FMC was defiant and strong willed rather than helpless. Her and the MMC had a great building relationship that never felt forced. Loved watching her grow and getting the chances and opportunities she deserved!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed, each one felt like such a real person. You could really see Mirabelle’s spark that she has in her, despite having a life that should have snuffed it out. Even though she started at the bottom, I was very happy to see how she moved up in the world. This is the perfect kind of book for me. It has magic, mystical creatures, action, romance. Everything a good story needs. I can’t wait to see how the plot progresses in the next book.

An excellent escape into a fantastic world filled with action and romance. Just when they were embarking on their HEA, something happened that may be resolved in the next book in the series. Wonderful read! Rooting for both hero and heroine! And looking forward to what happens next.

Aether & Ash delivers exactly what you want from a high-stakes fantasy romance: crackling tension, dangerous magic, and a heroine who refuses to stay small even when the world insists she should. The premise hooks fast: a girl born without Aether in a power-obsessed realm accidentally binds herself to a beast and publicly defies the cold, terrifying heir to the throne. From there, it’s all sharp court politics, forbidden attraction, and looming catastrophe. The chemistry between the protagonist and Damien Azarios is the real engine of the story, full of icy stares, reluctant alliances, and that delicious “we absolutely shouldn’t want each other” energy that keeps the pages turning. The worldbuilding is rich with creatures, trials, and shifting loyalties, though at times the lore can get dense enough to slow the momentum a bit. Still, the emotional stakes land hard, and the blend of rebellion, romance, and simmering apocalypse makes this an addictive, bingeable read that leaves you eager for the next spark to fly.
