Young bounty hunter Ethan Cole is low on cash and desperate for money to buy the medicine his disease-ridden father needs. When he hears about the ten-thousand dollar man "Lucky" Bill McGraw—a notorious outlaw who robs those who've got enough to give- he sees a chance to fix everything.
But as their chase stretches through dust-choked towns and over snow-covered mountains, Ethan's obsession grows. His black-and-white ideals of good and bad are confronted with the morally grey reality of the cruel world around him. He's forced to face his own identity as his gun weighs heavier with each bullet spent. And as the bodies pile up, the lines between justice and pride blur together.
Gun Full of Gold is a tragic western about the price of obsession, pride, and an unchanging mindset in an ever-changing world.
Never read a western before, and this was a great introduction into the genre. I thought the characters were interesting (mainly the MC) and that his character arc was fitting and had a good conclusion. If you want a classic western tale, I highly recommend it.
I loved it!! The progression and symbolism were really great! This was my first introduction to the western genre and it makes me curious to seek out more.
