Beautifully whimsical, the world is just so creative! Harriet Muncaster has done a fantastic job of capturing the experience of starting a new school, making new friends and believing in yourself! Previous fans of Harriet’s other notorious series will not be disappointed!

Loved all of the characters and I can’t wait to start recommending this to young readers!! ☺️

It was great and I really loved it. Wiska Wildflower was going to a new school and she had a best friend called Luna.

My daughter loves Harriet Muncaster, author of Isadora Moon and Victoria Stitch, and this might be my favourite of them all.

First of all, the art. Harriet Muncaster is an illustrator and this book is beautiful. There are gorgeous pictures on almost every page, and the colours add to the wonder and whimsy of the world of Wiska Wildflower.

Then we get to the story. Wiska is new to her school, a feeling that all kids share at some point in their lives. She then ends up with friends who maybe aren't the best. She keeps making compromises and does what they want because she is worried about being alone (something a lot of kids have done.) She then ends up deciding to be herself and comes out all the more better for it. These are problems that kids have all the time, but in a fantasy world that would be great to live in. It shows friendships can be tricky, and kids need to learn to navigate different social situations.

I don’t usually log books on my Goodreads that I read to my daughter, but I had to for this one because I loved it so much. My daughter is a big fan of Isadora Moon books and Emerald’s books as well, but personally I think this one is her best work. The world-building is EXCELLENT and I loved the diary format. Also I think the message of the book is a very important one for young girls and it was presented in such a real way. I can’t wait to read more of this series with my daughter because we are ready to explore the world of the Wisklings some more!
