His travel writing has appeared in the New York Times Sophisticated Traveler and Outside, among other magazines. He is the executive director of Missoula Medical Aid and lead many dozens of groups of medical professionals on trips to Honduras, where he worked in rural communities and hospitals as an interpreter.
