When Elizabeth Bennet is discovered alone at night with Fitzwilliam Darcy in his London townhouse, scandal is inevitable. Pressured by her mother and condemned by his aunt, Darcy offers the only solution a gentleman marriage.
Elizabeth swears she will never forgive him. Darcy fears she has only accepted him from necessity. What begins as a union of honor soon becomes a battle of pride, prejudice, and overwhelming attraction.
But as passion ignites and secrets come to light—Lady Catherine’s fury, Wickham’s schemes, and the weight of society’s judgment—Elizabeth and Darcy must decide whether their marriage will remain a duty…or become the deepest love either has ever known.
A steamy Pride and Prejudice variation filled with forced proximity, sizzling chemistry, and a love story that burns hotter with every page.
Definitely not more than 3 stars. I had the feeling that the author just wanted to fill pages with exactly the same argument over and over again, no other arguments. And other smaller things.
It was always Jane and Bingley, Darcy needed to ‚explain‘ himself every day I got the feeling. Even to Elizabeth though she stated she read his letter after the Hunsford proposal so why argue with Darcy about this for months?!
Don‘t get me starting on Bingley! He heard Elizabeth about Jane‘s heartbreak and being in town etc.. everyone heard it. Bingley was at ODC‘s wedding and yet he didn‘t take the iniative to talk to Jane? No, he stayed away until Darcy told him to come bc Jane is miserable.. but fighting for months with your husband bc Jane was separated from Bingley though he had several chances but took none?
And Mrs Bennet? Oh god.. I wished for Darcy to kick her out of his house. I certainly would have sent her back to Mr Gardiner. Simply no respect at all.
Some things in the book also didn‘t made sense or not very well explained. Like; Darcy and Elizabeth wanted to leave for Pemberley the next morning, alone (!) but issued an invitation to Jane only for when they settled in. It jumps to a breakfast scene, where suddenly everyone is there. So were the others invited or did Mrs Bennet think she can do what she wants now that she‘s living in Darcy house?
Anyway, the steamy content was well written and I liked the lovestory between ODC.

Warning: Meant for mature audiences. Contains steamy scenes that would scandalize the ton. Readers of a delicate constitution are advised to keep their fans and vinaigrettes close at hand.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. You will see the most beloved characters in a whole new way. This is a Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice variation. This is part of the Steamy Pride and Prejudice Variations series. A story filled with forced proximity, sizzling chemistry, and a love story that burns hotter with every page. Bound by honour, tempted by desire, and saved by love.
When Elizabeth Bennet is discovered alone at night with Fitzwilliam Darcy in his London townhouse, scandal is inevitable. Pressured by her mother and condemned by his aunt, Darcy offers the only solution a gentleman can, marriage. Elizabeth swears she will never forgive him, and Darcy fears she has only accepted him from necessity. What begins as a union of honor soon becomes a battle of pride, prejudice, and overwhelming attraction, but as passion ignites and secrets come to light, Lady Catherine’s fury, Wickham’s schemes, and the weight of society’s judgment, Elizabeth and Darcy must decide whether their marriage will remain a duty or become the deepest love either has ever known. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.
The first part of this story is quite shocking, to say the least. There are so many improprieties that the Elizabeth Bennet of Canon would not have dreamt of making, doing or saying. Confronting a gentleman and blaming him of one’s family’s misfortune is hardly a mark of a lady. And yet it was done, which resulted in a compromise.
Bound by honor, Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet are thrust in a marriage because of the perceived compromise. And yet, was there truly no desire or inclination in each other for said marriage? The rest of the story proves to show to readers what the beloved couple truly felt for each other, and it made it satisfyingly clear their true sentiments.
The intimacies are rather revealing but they are appropriate for married couples. Readers who want romance with scenes behind closed doors, then this is definitely recommended.
