IGNITED is a new adult, contemporary romance intended for adult readers.
James “Hawk” Hawkins always knew he’d be a firefighter. At twenty-four years of age, he’s dedicated his entire adulthood to the perilous job of saving lives and extinguishing flames. After a chance encounter, he carries a young woman to safety, but it’s unlike any rescue he’s ever performed. She touches something deep inside of him, not because he finds her attractive, which he does, but because she doesn’t want to be saved. For the first time in his life, he doesn’t need to put out a fire…he needs to start one.
Twenty-year-old Amber Lawson escaped to the small town of Creekview, Tennessee. She was running…fleeing from a tragedy that left her heartbroken and shrouded in despair. Struggling with the desolation that has engulfed her, she tries to start anew, hoping that if she evades the reminders of her past, she can slowly begin to heal.
Hawk is determined to rekindle her passion for life. Along the way, he realizes that’s not the only passion he wants to ignite. With his heart on the line, it could be his most hazardous rescue yet.
Plus, a bonus scene from Mason and Lexi of WASTED.
IGNITED is the second book in the WHISKEY NIGHTS series. Since each book focuses on a different couple, they can be read as stand-alones, but many readers may prefer to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.

2 Hawk Stars
After reading and really enjoying book one of the Whiskey Nights series I was thrilled Hawk would be getting his own story. Unfortunately, for me, the plot and heroine fell a little flat.
Hawk caught my attention in Wasted during scenes at the bar. From his interactions I knew immediately he was a man that would make a good hero, a good savior. Being a firefighter, Hawk feels the need to save and protect. This came through beautifully in his character. And while I thought a love connection was going to made with the comical Haley, I understand the author's choice of choosing someone like Amber to catch Hawk's eye. Understanding doesn't mean I agree necessarily, because I was hoping for someone to be Hawk's equal.
Amber was in need of saving. Her story saddens the reader enough to feel for her but there were times it felt like too much wallowing and not enough reasons why. I never felt a connection with her character, I never felt as though she became Hawk's equal. She was always just someone in need of saving and she filled the role of damsel.
Ignited turned out to be a completely different book than what I was expecting. Where Wasted was laced with humor and witty dialogue I felt this book lacked in that very much. The dialogue didn't feel as clean to me but instead clunky in places. I found myself skimming through parts rather being immersed in the words. I still find Mason and Lexi to be great characters, I'll keep a soft spot for Hawk in my heart, and still look forward to reading the story of confident, sassy Seren in the next book of the series.

My Review: ✭✭✭✭ Imagine you are engaged to a nice guy but his mother doesn’t like you. He’s in a car accident, you’re told he’s dead, and don’t come to the funeral; Mama doesn’t want you there. But she wants you to return your engagement ring because it’s a family heirloom. It’s the only thing you have of him. Everyone is telling you that you need to get over it and get on with your life. This is what Amber had in her head when she and Seren were in an accident.
Hawk and Cade were the first responders. The two guys are firefighters in town and were close by when it happened. Hawk can’t figure out why Amber would say she didn’t want to be saved while he was pulling her out of the wreck.
Hawk tries to help Amber as a friend, but she’s not very open to him. But each time she needs something, he’s there for her with his helping hand and shoulder to lean on. And he’s, of course, one hot-looking fireman. Romance writers don’t write about ugly men very often. So, Amber finds herself being drawn to him and having to fight herself to keep her distance. But you know how well women keep their distance from hot men in romances. So, Amber decides to take him home to her Mom’s for Thanksgiving dinner. As a guest, not a menu item. But there’s a surprise guest at dinner this Thanksgiving and there may not be room at the table for everyone.
This was a good book, but it was a bit depressing to me when Amber would get down and start going on about having to be alone. She wouldn’t take the help that was right there with no strings attached, and it was frustrating to see happen over and over.
It was quite well written. The characters weren’t just run-of-the-mill, they were individuals. Yet, somehow it was all just a bit off for me. Then you had a major jolt near the end and weren’t sure where you were going.
So, romance readers, I recommend this book to you to see how you like it and if you find the same things I did. Perhaps you will understand Amber’s need to stay away from people. And perhaps you will like the turnabout towards the end. Maybe you will see it as a challenge or a test. If you read it or have read it, do let me know what your thoughts are.
One hunky fireman with the biggest heart meets one troubled girl in desperate of someone to care for and take notice of her.
Starting off with a bang, Hawk is thrust into Amber's life when he rescues her from a car accident. What he sees within Amber is such sadness that it seeps into your very being. His caring nature and big heart will not allow him to ignore this cry for help.
Amber has moved to Creekview to escape and hide out from her past and her present. A past that has left her feeling deeply sad and feeling very much alone, with no hope. When Hawk enters her life, he brings with him hope. Hope for a future and hope to begin living again. Under Hawk's tender care, she slowly gains her self-confidence back and discovers her own self-worth again.
Hawk has to be one of the most sensitive book boyfriends ever, knowing exactly what to say and do at exactly the right time. He has a heart with a great capacity to love and care, frequently putting others needs before his own. His romantic nature does not need much coaxing to come out and boy is he romantic. He is just what Amber needs but equally he has his own sadness that he needs to come to terms with.
Amber's sadness comes from deep inside ad you cannot help but feel this with her. The emotional roller coaster she has been on has left her drained but with the support and care she gets from Hawk, we see her beyond the sadness to the strong and determined woman she actually is.
One person can make a difference and everyone of us is important. But no matter how hard you try and escape from your past it will eventually catch up with you. Can Amber and Hawk survive her past?
I loved this incredibly beautiful, romantic read, with its amazing contrasting characters that captured my heart and won't let go. It is emotional; filled with sadness but equally hope and happiness and is heart warming. The twists and turns along the way kept me captivated until the very last word and beyond.
This is an intense and sizzling book. But its an emotionally gutting book that will have you captivated.
We begin with these two meeting in the MOST devastating of situations. One that the reader isn't likely going to forget. It will leave an impact on your heart and mind.. Hawk is the epitome of good boy hero. Hes a fireman. What girl wouldn't love a fireman. But hes got depth and I enjoy that the author didn't make him out to be an ass. I loved his inane sense of wanting to help. Amber doesn't want to keep going. Shes got a life that doesnt seem to be working on her side when it comes to happiness. Hawk is the perfect hero to bring her out of her shell and he does his hardest to make sure Amber can see shes worthy of it all. The storyline is intense but it works good with these two. Ive said it before but ill say it again, Miss Daniels is a master at creating characters who shouldnt work well together but they do.
This is the first book in a very long time that had my chest tightening and my eyes watering as I read to find out what happened! I love the writing intertwined with the Fire terminology... very effective because he is relating things to his life. I probably will look at rainbows, skittles and one differently from now on!
Seren and Amber didn't know how lucky they were to have crashed right where 2 firefighters were target practicing on their day off. The men were able to get the women out of the car before it was engulfed in flames.
Hawk was a rescuer. He was compelled to help people so when Amber said: "And what if I didn't want to be saved?" Hawk was very worried about her. As the days went by, he kept checking on her and became her friend, wanting to be there for her since she was clearly troubled. Amber had had a devastating blow, left home without a word and moved to a small town where she wasn't known. But Hawk wouldn't leave her alone. Amber didn't make it easy for him but Hawk eventually gained her trust so that he was able to convince her of her own self-worth. She finally felt that her life was worth living again.
I loved sexy firefighter, Hawk. He always wanted to help out anywhere he could. With his good heart, he often put others before himself. The more time he spent with Amber, the more his feeling for her grew. He was so good to her and so romantic that she fell for him, too.
I enjoyed this book with the couple meeting in such an unusual way. The well-written plot was captivating. And the ending was a complete surprise! I didn't feel the connection between Hawk and Amber for quite some time. Since Amber didn't even care if she lived, finding love was pretty low on her 'to do' list.
Finally done. This book was so boring. It only took two days, but it felt like I was reading for a week. I actually liked both Hawk and Amber, but they're story was so boring. It was a fight for me to finish. I only finished because I really liked most of the characters. The most exciting part for me was when Hawk took off to New York to get his girl. I had already figured out that Amber's fiancé was not dead, she did not marry and was back in Clearview. The writing style was very predictable and did not do these characters justice. Hawk was already a hero being a firefighter and Amber had been dealt a terrible blow by both her parents and her fiancé's parents. I just felt that she left home to grow and overcome her heartache. I just wished she actually developed a backbone to go with her courage. I did enjoy all the characters of Clearview in this story. Unfortunately, this was just a boring story about a guy and a girl. I am in the minority, so please read for yourself.
This story was so good that I hated for it to end. Hawk is a true book boyfriend and the kind of man we all want. I hope we hear more about this couple in future books.
**I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
Ignited is the second book in the Whiskey Nights series, and it tells the story of Hawk, a character introduced in Wasted, which is the first book in the series. Hawk is a firefighter, best friend to Mason and Cade, brother to Jace, and an all-around good guy.
The story starts with Hawk and Cade doing some target practicing. When a car accident happens nearby, both men respond to the scene and save the two girls in the car. But what one girl says to Hawk is something that begins to haunt him. It also haunts him and makes him want to know more about the girl.
Amber Lawson is a twenty year old woman who happens to be new in town. Amber has a past. It's not something she can deal with, which is why she's "run away" to Creekside. Her desire to leave her past behind puts her directly into Hawk's path. Can she let go of her past and learn to trust him?
I will say that I was very excited to read the second book in the series, and I was definitely not disappointed. Ignited is a quick read that elicits a variety of emotions from the reader while keeping them hooked until the very end. You've got friendship, romance, heartache, and happiness all rolled into one fantastic story.
Hawk is an easy-going guy you can't help but love. He's a great friend, caring, protective, honest, and what I would call a true Southern gentleman. He loves his family, his friends, and is always willing to help someone in need. He's easily one of the most likeable characters in the book.
Amber is a broken young woman. She's dealing with a lot of things from her past, and she just doesn't seem capable of dealing with them. Grief is definitely her strongest emotion when you first meet her in the book. Her character gets a teensy bit frustrating at times because you just want her to be able to heal and move on, and yet she seems adamant to keep everything bottled up inside. That's really the only problem I had with her. But I can also kind of relate to her, as well, in some small way.
Other characters from Wasted come into play on occasion in the story, and they're just as wonderful as they were in the first book. Especially Mason and Lexi. I rather adore them.
One of the other newer characters introduced is someone from Amber's past, and they are absolutely despicable. I can guarantee you will loathe them immediately, and that opinion will not change whatsoever. In fact, they sort of reminded me of someone I spent nine years dealing with, although this character is a little bit more horrible, just in a different way.
Plot-wise, I felt the book moved along at a nice pace. It was easy to read and quick to get through, although it sort of left you wanting more. It truly is a good read, and I couldn't really find anything I disliked about any of the story. Maybe a little bit of the romance was somewhat rushed, but I don't think it really detracted any from the plot/overall story. I really did enjoy it.
If you haven't yet read Wasted, I'd advise you to do so at once. Then you can read Ignited and discover just how amazing this series is. I highly recommend both books, and overall, I'd give Ignited 4 stars.
I loved the first book in this series, and even though I knew that this book was going to be about a secondary character in the first book, this made me even more excited to read it! I couldn't wait to read his story! I then got even more excited after I read the synopsis and saw the cover! I mean, the cover is seriously hot and the synopsis sounded amazing! This book was fantastic! I loved every minute of reading it, and I read it in a few sittings! It was brilliant! The plot was amazing! It was actually more suspenseful than I was expecting it to be, which I loved! I do wish a bit more had happened in it though because there were times were it stayed on the same level! The plot also had plenty of romance in it and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There were some sexy scenes too! The plot also started off with a bang and then kept a steady pace until a certain point and then there was another bang! I don't actually want to talk about what happened in the plot that much in case I say a spoiler or something because the plot had quite a big twist in it lol! I really enjoyed it though! The characters were amazing! James “Hawk” was the main male character and he was just the sweetest guy! He was super hot too and I loved him! He also really intrigued me when he made appearances in the first book, so I was excited to read his story and get inside his head! Hawk was such a down to earth guy and so easy for me to connect with too! He also had this good nature about him and he always tried to do the right thing, even if it meant him giving up something he really wanted! I could see that Hawk would do anything to protect his love interest as well, and he would become more protective and fierce whilst doing so! I just absolutely loved Hawk! He got better and better as the book progressed and he really impressed me! Amber was the main female character, and she was someone who was running from her troubles! I could completely understand why she did because she was running from people who belittled her and made her feel worthless! I loved Amber though! I felt that she came a long way in this book and that she learned a lot about herself and life from Hawk! He taught her to love herself and that everyone deserves a second chance at love, even if you had been through what Amber had! Amber also really surprised me in this book with how she handled situations, but it was a nice surprise! I was expecting her to react differently, so I was really happy when she handled situations the way she did! This made me like her even more! I loved that this book was written from both Hawk and Amber's point of views! It made this book even better and it helped me connect even more with both characters! I also loved that there was a bonus scene between the two main characters, Mason and Lexi, from the first book at the end of this book too! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's going to be another character's book, but this has made me more excited to read it! I'll definitely be anticipating its release! The cover for this book is seriously hot! I love it and I also love how well it suits the cover for the first book too! Big thank you to Suzannah for a copy of Ignited!
When you think of firefighters, the image that comes to mind is someone that is always willing to lend a helping hand, save some in need, kind, generous, and sexy. James “Hawk” Hawkins fits this to a tee and then some. He is always one running in the save the day and not just from burning buildings. But then again, he comes from a family that has an unquestionable urge to help anyone in need.
So after saving a rather attractive young woman after a car accident, her words take him by surprise. He wants to help her by being a friend and someone she can talk to. Something is obvious bothering her and since she's new to town, he's inner need to assist grows.
Amber Lawson just moved into town looking for a place to come to terms with a recent, life changing, event in her life. She's kept a low profile and hasn't made friends. Her parents could understand her inner struggles, so being somewhere she doesn't know anyone is what she thinks she needs.
The more Hawk pushes his way into Amber's life, the more she starts to see the light at the end of the tunnel, a rainbow after rain.
And the more Hawk get to know about Amber, the more he wants to know. He's never been taken with any women the way he is with her.
But just as they are beginning to start a relationship, a blast from the past will threaten everything.
Are they strong enough to stay together, or are they over before they've even begun?
I really enjoyed getting to know Hawk. I love his heart and how when he's in, he's all in. He'll fight for you even when you don't think you can fight for yourself. And what's not to love about a sexy firefighter?
Amber's been through the wringer in her twenty years. I love her determination to get away from her family and friends, even though running may not be the wisest decision. But I can understand how when you're in a bad place that thinking of yourself and removing yourself from a hurtful situation can be the only thing you can think of. I felt for her and loved that instead of pushing Hawk away, she let him help her.
Amber's stronger than she thought she was and that's all thanks to Hawk. He proves to her that she can handle anything as long as she believes in herself.
The book ignites a fire within it's pages and leaves the reader smoldering with it's passion and heart.
* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *
I loved Book 1 (Wasted) in this series (Whiskey Nights) and wasn't sure that Book 2 (Ignited) could measure up, but it did and it surpassed Wasted - I loved seeing the caring side of Hawk - in Wasted we were able to see his humorous, sarcastic side and in this one the author really developed his character and made him even more of a favorite. I enjoy the fact that the author is able to integrate the previous characters into this book and keep us in the loop on some old favorites while showing us more about our current favorites. It is not necessary to read Book 1 (Wasted) first, but it is recommended since it is so amazing and it does give some insight into Hawk. You can pick up Ignited and be able to understand everything that is going on and not have any problems.
I enjoyed getting to know Amber and the struggle that she was going through - it was a roller coaster of emotions with a ton of ups, downs and curves that almost gave the readers whiplash since they were reading it so quickly! I didn't see most of the twists and turns coming as the author was able to keep the reader guessing throughout the smooth flowing plot. She did an amazing job with the character development and the details that she uses throughout the story. It makes the reader feel as if they are right there with the characters having an after work drink at the bar or spending time with family and friends. The reader continues to think about the characters long after they have finished the story. They just seem to stick with the reader as the reader continues to try to guess what they want to happen next and what may actually happen next.
I am already looking forward to Book 3 - I hope that it is Cade's story and I know who I have in my mind for him (I hope that Suzannah and I are on the same page). Make sure that you add this book and all of her others to your TBR list - I am trying to catch up on her books as there are still a few more that I need to read. These books are a can't miss - make sure that you add them all to the list and enjoy!!
Loved it! Awesome story! I have to admit that I had already fallen in love with Hawk in Wasted but his book just made me love him even more. Unlike other readers I did not care that he didn't end up with Haley because his story was so good that I was thinking Haley who? I have to say that Hawk is the perfect book boyfriend and I don't often say this, if the hero is not up to my standards then he is simply not going to make it into my list of book boyfriends. Hawk made it and will stay in my top 3 forever. He is so perfect, manly, handsome and a true hero. He is a firefighter and I have a thing for men in uniform... He is also the perfect gentleman and very respectful. I cannot say enough good things about him. I was so surprised with the twist in the story, I did not see it coming at all and it was so emotional because you feel really torn and sad for the characters (all of them involved) Amber was a great character and she was perfect for Hawk because she needed him even if she didn't want his help and because he was so persistent in trying to help her the story got really good. She is so torn and does not want to feel the way she does and I understood her completely and felt all of her emotions. I also fell in love with Jace (Hawks brother) and I am hoping that he gets his story told, he is just like Hawk, perfect! The story is well written and you won't be bored for one second. There is action, romance and even some mystery. I really loved it and I will recommend it to all my friends. Read Wasted first so that you can get to know some of the characters that are also in this part of the story. HEA ending and super romantic, like wow!
Ignited by Suzannah Daniels is a sweet contemporary romance, a fast paced easy read. Ignited focuses on the story of Amber and Hawk. This review does not include any spoilers, I don’t want to give anything away. The book opens with a car crash. Amber has had a rough year to say the least, she feels like she doesn’t have much left to live for...until she meets Hawk and he slowly starts to show her otherwise. I loved how the relationship between Amber and Hawk developed. I love Hawk, he is my favorite kind of book boyfriend, sweet, loyal, caring, chivalrous, and sexy! He was so patient and kind with Amber, was so determined to give Amber her rainbow ;) I found Amber to be a really relatable character, the author portrayed her circumstances and emotions clearly, I felt everything she went through. The ending of the book held one shocking twist! I won’t give anything away, but I will say that I felt the ending was the most riveting part of the book. I highlighted quite a few lines from this book, things that really stuck with me as I read it, here are some of them: “Sometimes all we need is for someone to remind us that we’re going to be okay.” “I’d felt the spark of her passion, and I wanted nothing more than to be the man who could make her burst into flames.” “I’m not just brining you flowers,” he said softly, his fingertips gentle as they glided down my face. “I’m bringing you a rainbow.” Would I recommend this book? Yes, it’s a great well written story but I’d recommend it just for Hawk alone, I love him that much.
New author alert! Well for me anyway, ha! This series is amazing. Each book is a standalone, though I recommend you reading them in order. Each book was better than the next and left me hanging, wanting more from each person we met along the way. This series is sexy, edgy, passionate, steamy, full of twists and turns, and has sexy alpha males who will make you swoon... hard.
This book was amazing. Full of passion and intensity, this love story will put you through a range of emotions. With secondary characters that make you laugh and smile, this romance has a that spark that keeps me coming back wanting more. This author did an amazing job weaving an a beautiful love story that showed me the importance of forgiveness and falling in love.
This is Amber and Hawk's story. If you read book one, then you knew Hawk was going to be the man you would fall hard and fast for... and he did not disappoint. Hawk and Amber meet under tragic circumstances. Hawk is a saver, always helping but what happens when he meets the girl who doesn't want to be saved? Amber has a ton of baggage and a past that is riddled with sadness but a man like Hawk is just what she needs to learn to live and possibly love again. Can these two find a way to work past the obstacles that lie ahead and find a happy ending? Get ready for a beautifully flawed loved story and one perfect ending that will have you smiling and swooning... hard.
Now how do i explain this without spoiling it for others??? Well let me just start off by saying this is better then Wasted book 1 of the Whiskey Nights series. But Book 2 just hooked me in a way that got me out of my book funk. This was a amazing story and i just fell for Hawk right away. who wouldn't fall for a hot firefighter? Hawks life has always been for firefighting it was always his main focus. That all changes once he saves Amber from a car accident. Something she says to him really seems to bother him and makes him need to know more about her. Amber is running from a awful past a past that has shattered her and left her feeling broken. Hawk is determined to bring her back show her that life again will have meaning. This was very emotional and i just couldn't put it down. You will fall in love with the chemistry of the characters and really appreciate how someone like Hawk is willing to do to prove love is worth it. I do not want to get into to much details due to the fact i hate putting spoilers in reviews but you will love every bit of this book. This is a must read and if you have already read Wasted and loved it then you will love this one much more. I was in a book funk when i got this ARC and it really got me out of it i am so thankful i was trusted to review this for the author.
I love love love this new series of Suzannahs. It started with Wasted, where we got a little preview of Hawk. In Ignited, we get a whole lot more of the hunky man.
Hawk knew early on in life that he wanted to help people, which is why he became a firefighter.
Amber is new to Creekview. She's trying to escape her past, and keep to herself. Her desire to live is very low.
The two meet under trying circumstances, and Hawk being the born hero needs to save this girl; only she doesn't really want to be saved. He decides to make it his mission to bring her back to the land of the living.
What I liked about this book was that it's not a typical romance. It's not all light and flowers and happy times. Amber is trying to survive a very traumatic experience, and she's not looking for friends. She's broken and alone. She doesn't ask Hawk to keep coming around to check on her or be her friend, he just does that because he's a good guy.
I love the path that Suzannah takes these two down. There is a very unexpected twist, and "OH NO" moment, which was great. But fear not. Those that know Suzannahs writing, know that there are no cliffhangers.
I love that we see more of Lexi and Mason, and some of the other characters from Wasted. I'm very excited to see who she brings us in the next book in the series!
First of all I'd like to thank Suzannah for allowing to read Ignited in exchange for an honest review. I've read almost every book she's written an I love her work. Ignited is an amazing love story. Hawk and Amber are such great characters and it was easy to slip into their world and fall in love with them. Amber is a very broken person and my heart ached along with hers in her time of pain and warmed with joy for her as she started to heal. I got a taste of swoon worthy Hawk in Wasted (Whiskey Nights #1) and was so happy to learn that this was his story. He's a sexy, southern gentleman with such a warm and kind heart that any woman could fall for, and on top of that he's a sexy fireman. What more could a girl want? I'm so glad that Suzannah let their love develop over the course of the story. The whole insta love by chapter two and nothing but hot kinky sex from then on is the basic storyline in so many books now days that the true love story is lost. Ignited let the healing and love develop in a natural way over time and was so much more worth the read. I can't wait for Deceived (book #3) Seren's story coming in 2015.
After I read and really enjoyed the first book in this series i was very much looking forward to book two. And I actually fell in love with Hawk and Amber more then I taught i would.
I'll start with Amber. She is way to sweet. Which isn't a bag thing(not always a good thing). Be to town she is just trying to blend in and not bring attention to herself. Which doesn't go great because within the first few pages she literally crashes into Hawks life. But at this point she is in such a low part of her life to appreciate the fine man Hawk is. She is running, which is easy to see. But you don't know what or who she is running from. And what it is is heart breaking.....
Now hawk we met in book one. Sexy freighter and just an all round nice guy. As soon as he sees Amber he is drawn to her. But she is just looking to be alone and hide. Yeeeeeah hawk doesn't mess about. He doesn't give her a chance to push him away.
This is an all round sweet read. There is just enough drama and angst in it to keep the book going. An I sat and read it in one sitting. And I for one will definitely be reading the next instalment in the Whiskey Nights series
This was a sweet book. I liked the characters and the storyline was good and moved along nicely.
Amber was a mess. After having experienced a huge tragedy, she needed to get away from it all and found herself in Creekview. Unfortunately, her life wasn't looking any better in the beginning of the book. But, all it took was one moment for her life to change.
Hawk is a fireman, his first instinct to help those in need and, Amber desperately needed his help. He isn't disuaded by her need to push everyone away to deal with the recent loss of her fiance alone. He persistently checks up on her, trying to be her one ray of light in a sea of sadness. All Amber has to do is reach out and grab hold of the lifeline that Hawk is tossing to her.
There comes a time when Amber will have to go back and face the life she walked away from and maybe it will be more than what she bargained for.
Read Amber's story and see how Hawk helps her to realize that all it takes is just one moment, just one, for everything to change.
I really really really liked Mason & Lexi's story Wasted which was book one in the Whiskey Nights series, but the flicker I found there was nothing compared to the flame that Ignited when Hawk met Amber. His need to save her even though she might not have really wanted to be was so strong and heartwarming. I knew i was going to love Hawk, and now i see why. Suzannah kept me intrigued trying to find out what was going on with Amber- and then just when I thought I knew where the story was going she threw in a big twist that really made me wonder how i was going to feel at the end. I loved the way the characters intertwined from the first book in the series as well, but you could definitely read this as a standalone if you choose to do so. But i have to say you would be maximizing the experience by reading them both. I can't wait to see where the next book takes us as i am really curious to know more about Seren. She seems to be a feisty one. Overall this is one to put on your tbr list especially if you are in the market for a new book boyfriend!! Hawk made my list!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i read the first book in the whiskey nights and absolutely fell in love with Mason & Lexi, just when i thought it couldn't get any better i read ignited. I love the fact that the charcaters intertwined with each other but mostky focused on Hawk & Amber. There were issues that the characters were dealing with and you could feel the emotions as you wee reading. in this book you come to realize that in life, sometimes love does conquer all. another thing i loved was the fact that life does throw obstacles and wrenches into peoples lives and when presented with them, you have someone that you can lean on to support you in order to overcome them. i am anxiously waiting for the 3rd book in the series to come out because with each book in a series that suzannah Daniels writes, the next one gets better then before. i am thankful that i have found a writer that can keep me interested from one book to the next. i would definetly encourage readers to start reading any series that Suzannah has written so far because you will not be disappinted.
recieved a free copy from the author and promised to place a honest review!
A well writtten and easy reader again as in (Wasted, wiskey nights 1) also this book embraces the reader, A stand alone ,but also a continuation of the stories around Creekview! a big difference in this book compared by Wasted is the female character Amber! as here its charcter releaved a lot of sadness throughout the story. but still ending in a happily after! again on th back side of the story, a psychological character as well! the book has great value and is interesting till the end! the author knows exactly how to glue such a story into a nice readable book! unique book for its kind and a must read up to me!
I loved Wasted, had the author ask me personally if I did wish to read Ignited? Heck YEAH!! so cool. Love it when authors contact me. so neat!! StandAlone book. I love books that start off with a real bang. YOU know girl, Suzannah has got me hooked, I love this series!! I love the name Hawk ... when ever I read these books that have such unique names in them, I always hope I will have the chance to meet some one cool named that very same name... has yet to happen so far? fingers crossed on that please. Question? Where can I find a James "Hawk" Hawkins? I've read lots of books where the hero is "everything" a woman can dream of in a man, but let me tell you, Hawk is the very definition of perfection! I can honestly say I have only fallen head over heels in love with a handful of heroes in books because after a while they are pretty much the same. Alpha, possessive, Hot, which don't get me wrong, I like that, but it was nice to see a Hot alpha guy with a much softer side whose concern wasn't only the physical well being of his heroine but also her mental well-being.
Suzannah Daniels did a remarkable job writing Amber and Hawks story. I am very impressed with how there wasn't a lot of drama and unneeded chaos , which these days seems to be the norm when writing a romance book!
I am truly excited to see what she brings us next!!!
You know you have a good man when chivalry isn't dead, "I held Amber's chair out for her while she sat down, and then I helped her coot up to the table." Hawk realizes he has a good woman when she shows her appreciation, "I like the way you make me feel, Hawk." I ran my hand beneath his boxers, feeling the velvet tip of his erection." Amber really realizes she has a good man when he stuffs his plate full of her cooking, "I added another ladleful. It was twice as many dumplings as I would normally start with, but I knew she'd worked hard on them. The least I could do was see that they were all eaten by the end of the meal." I liked this book but at times I was more interested in Jace and Cade and Seren I can't wait for the next book.
