I sort this out after reading many books that refer to or base themselves on the story of Hades and Persephone. This was a good introduction, showcasing the depth and meaning applied to the story over time. It is indeed a remarkable story, embedded with universal rhythms and truths. My only criticism is that while this text refers to many original sources, it never includes excerpts from them, everything is paraphrased. It peaks your curiosity to seek them out, but it would have added another dimension to this reading.
