A fascinating and provocative collection of essays about the impact of social media. One of the few books I’ve read in recent years that fundamentally altered my outlook on society in a measurable way; I no longer look at Facebook or Twitter with the same kind of naïveté I had before reading this.
Lots to chew on here. An accessible introduction to some of the weighty questions facing the modern world.
Reading this produced insight in me. I'm not online enough to tell if the narrative of culture presented is 100% verifiable, but overall resonates and is Big if True. Philosophically I found it insightful and clarifying. The chapter On Liminality is the most helpful thing I've read for years.
