Saskia Coy’s life has been mapped out since the day she burst into this world. With a mother dying on her birthing bed, leaving her father with a fragile heart, she vowed not only to make her parents proud but also to build something of her own. Becoming a Cardiovascular Perfusionist was the career she aimed to pursue because Saskia believed that if her father ever had complications again, she’d be the one to control his heart. Everything had been going smoothly until the biggest day of her life suddenly turned into a nightmare she couldn't have predicted. Just seconds after Saskia stepped onto the stage to receive her degree, she was forced to accept the saying, “You never know the day or time.” Being a daddy’s girl to a successful attorney, she was provided with the best schools and homes that one could only dream of. In a way, she’d been living in a Barbie dream house before the soft girl life aesthetic had become a trend. Even as a motherless child, Saskia had never lacked anything, or at least she thought she hadn’t, until she was left all alone. All gas and no brakes, the grief-stricken college graduate stumbles upon a town known for more than its sunny beaches and award-winning restaurants. Diamond Cove, North Carolina, was her chance to escape the tragedy her life had become. Forced to find a new normal, Saskia joins an all-girl car club. Just as she settles in with her Hellcat Barbies, her past catches up to her and is ready to collect what she took when she left town after her father’s death. As life throws a nail in the road, how will Saskia’s life turn out—on a dead-end street or a highway of happiness?
Cute and short but I absolutely loved everything about it! I was so gone with this book the plot twists snuck right up on me, I was NOT expecting the ending. I definitely crave more of Saskia and Zodiac.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Hellcat Barbies: Saskia by Lisa Austin. The characters were well written and the story was very engaging. Though a little slow to start, the book picked up about 60% in and it was perfect from there. I wish we could've read about the FMC Saskia doing more races, her reconnection with Dasani Rinaldi, or even her general introduction to the mob or Hunter. But the chemistry between the FMC and MMC, the FMC's relationship with her friends and her feelings about her father's death, for example, were pretty well written in my opinion. It made up for those misses. Only 105 pages long, I could've read another 105 pages about Saskia and Zodiac. I highly recommend The Hellcat Barbies: Saskia to fans of urban fiction/romance and I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
Final rating: 4.5/5 stars

From the first page, this story took off like a Hellcat on fresh asphalt — fast, loud, and impossible to slow down. Ms. Lisa Austin, you’re a beast for this one because you kept my heart racing the whole ride. I could honestly reread this again because the way you built that momentum was straight premium fuel. I didn’t know what to expect, but it gave me all the feels — a smooth mix of speed, passion, and second chances.
This was a full-circle romance with just the right amount of gangsta under the hood. The details were chef’s kiss, the emotions hit like a gear shift, and every scene felt real enough to hear the engine purr. Yak? That man’s a certified driver — ten toes on the gas, loyalty in the lane, and heart in the rearview. He up’d the score for sure, and I already know Shio’s story about to spin the block next.
I do wish this was a full-length ride because I wasn’t ready to park it yet. But one thing about it — this little Hellcat had my heart redlining on love and burning rubber on every page. Baby, that love story hit the gas and never looked back. 🏁❤️🔥
From the moment Yak sat at the bar I said “what if he’s the fiancé”. Wow! A full circle moment for sure, my girl Sass went on the run to only end up where she was meant to be in the end. I love how Zodiac was so understanding, gentle and reassuring with her she deserved all of that. The poor girl literally had no one and I’m so glad she found her a family in Diamond Cove. No one deserves to be left in this world alone. This was short and sweet and I wish it was longer. Such a great read 👏🏾
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️ (one full scene) This is a good short story! I really liked how unique the MMC was described to look! I can see why the FMC could not tell the MMC no. This book had the arranged marriage trope, but with a twist! This was a good intermission before Shio’s story.
Lisa Austin knows how to make you fall in love with her characters, a**hole men included 🤣 I loved Yak taking care of Saskia…and who dont love a surprise baby to force the couple together? 🤣🤣🤣🤩
Also loved the Hellcat Barbie/racing theme, hopefully she brings the Barbies to Jagoda Bay 👀👀
I do like where the storyline was going and love a surprise a surprise baby. I will say I don’t feel like this really fit the theme of hellcat Barbies. We just didn’t get enough of her actually being immersed into the car club in my opinion. The only thing that we actually heard about her within the hellcat Barbies was she raced maybe 2 times.
I loved the heck out of Saskia and Yak book. Saskia was on the swivel because she was not for the shenanigans of her dad. Come to find out, her plan led her to the beginning.
Zodiac, was my boo because he played his hand well. Protection at all times and with his heart on his sleeve.
The way Lisa had the story come full circle was chef's kiss.
This was an interesting love story. A runaway Bride. Saskia ran because she wanted to pick her own husband. She went to school to be her own boss. Zodiac did not take advantage of Saskia. The loneliness that she experience bought her love. A baby was made a grandmother knew who the father was.
Like how did you just come up with this elaborate anxiety filled story as if your father didn't raise you and love you enough that he would let a criminal hurt you?! She wasnt thinking clearly at all, granted he didn't come to meet her but she never asked the lawyer to set up a meeting either.
Zak & Sass add a lil’ sparkle to the Hellcat Barbies series ✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A nice, quick read. Zak & Sass’s story was cute and enjoyable 💕. Lisa Austin always knows how to make even her shorter stories worth the ride — she never disappoints.
As usual Ms. Lisa did her big one with this Hellcat Barbie story! I always live for catching up with the Mob Family but the new addition and their love story got my lil heart melting… This was funny and beautiful
This love story was great. You never know who you have until it's revealed to you. I really enjoyed their story. Please go and read the Hellcat Barbies Series from different dope authors.
This story was so perfect to me. No drawn out baby reveal. No “not wanting to let go” other love interest getting in the way. The plot twist even had me grinning. Job well done.
Not knowing what/where/who or when the road you’re taking is going to have a detour will have you spiraling out of control. The foundation of trust is built around reestablishing the foundation of loyalty, respect and love.
I expected nothing less. This was a great read I love how the story comes together. Anything man can think in his mind can happen this ain’t fiction this real life. Nothing this good can be fake.
I enjoyed this one so much. This is my first time reading something from this author but it won’t be my last. Our girl ran from what she thought would destroy her only for life to bring her back exactly where she was meant to be.
I have a thing about arranged marriages especially when they fall in love! This was a great story and a glimpse of other Mob members would like to read more about the others.
The last installment of “The Hellcat Barbies” standalone series was a uniquely convoluted reading experience 🤔. Nevertheless, “The Hellcat Barbies: Saskia” (3.75 ⭐️’s) was a storyline of both paranoia & misunderstood to all dreams come true.
I am enjoying reading through Lisa’s catalog. This was such a good and short read. Saskia and Yak were destined to fall in love and it happened in such a beautiful and unconventional way.
Daddy knows best! This was such a great read. And you know I love being in the Bay lol. That was really big of him to let her go and be happy. Know I live for an SB 😌😏.
I loved getting the mob cameos! It made me miss this world so much. I do wish we got to see more of her driving the Hellcat, but I’m not mad at it. 3.5⭐️
