Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

I got this for my nephews for Christmas and I obviously had to read it first. 💙 Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins are awesome, and I liked my introduction to Henry Hugglemonster. Some of the stories were lame (Minnie u da worst), but I can imagine my nephews liking them if read aloud with good expression and fun voices. The pictures are cute and eye-catching for young readers.

Purchased on Audible for my kids to listen to in the car and thought it was perfect. The narrator has a great voice, the stories are just the right length, and the stories are cute and clever.

This hardcover with 304 gilt silvery-edged pages, full of Disney cartoon illustrations on every page, is almost too heavy for the intended beginning readers to hold. There ought to be a date in the title, because Disney Press produces a "Disney Junior Storybook Collection" almost every year, with short stories based upon the Disney TV animation of that year.

This 2014 edition contains 18 stories of about twenty pages each. They feature Disney TV's "Sofia the First", "Jake and the Never Land Pirates", "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", "Doc McStuffins", "Minnie", and "Henry Hugglemonster", with from two to four stories each. These are easy for beginning readers to read themselves, or for a parent to read aloud with their child looking at the pictures. From a scholarly viewpoint, this is an easy way to keep track of what's on Disney TV each year. "Sofia the First", a child semi-Latino princess in a storybook kingdom, teaches that all children, whether rich or poor, are equal. "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" is based on the Disney 1950s "Peter Pan" movie, with young Jake as the current leader of the Lost Boys helping Peter Pan against Captain Hook and his pirates. "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" features Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and the gang as ecologically-friendly farmers improving the Earth with unfortunately-imaginary machines. "Doc McStuffins" is a little non-Caucasian girl who "plays doctor" to her toys that come to life when grownups aren't around. "Minnie" is Mickey's girlfriend who now runs her own "Bow-tique" fancy dress shoppe as a stronger feminine role model. These stories include Daisy Duck and Disney's other female cartoon characters. "Henry Hugglemonster" is a family sitcom with friendly monsters, showing that monsters may look scary but they're really just like you & me. Henry is a little-boy monster with a monster older brother, a monster younger sister, monster parents and playmates, and they all have humorous sitcom-type escapades. These are fun stories for little children with short attention spans, good for reading one or two at a time.

Complete twaddle. It is essentially cartoons in a book--not even original storylines, but the same storylines as the actual episodes. It's only redeeming factor is that it is a book and not a video. If you are looking for something for a child that loves Disney and hates books then this might be an okay book for you, but if you are in the market for stories that will stimulate imagination, build character, or stir the soul--stay away.

This is a collection of stoies based off the Disney Junior television shows. Majority of them were geared more toward 'girl' stories than boy ones so if you are reading them to a boy he may get bored. The stories are nice to read and illustrations are that of the television show which are familiar to children.

This book was really good. Most of the stories were great. The pictures were all wonderful. Some of the stories needed a little more details and there was one story that was missing at least part of a sentence which should have been fixed before the book was printed. Other than that the book was really good and I would recommend it to Disney Junior fans.

I thought this story was cute. The moral is kindness and sacrifice. A good lesson for little ones & reminders for older ones.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Mickey & Donald Have A Farm

My daughter loves these stories, especially Mickey and Donald Have a Farm. I hate it. Not the book, just that one story. I can't explain it, but I also hate the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show it's based on as well. Mees-ka Mouse-ka DON'T.
