"Reading aloud was my passion as a youngster. I would take the Book of Treasured Childrens' Fairytales into my room and read aloud the poems, rhymes, short stories and classics. As a parent, I spent hours reading to my four children and any other kids who happened to be nearby in the library. To appease their insatiable appetites for stories, I would begin creating new ones from my imagination. Joe Beanie Weenie and other characters were born on the edge of bedtime dreamland with my children gathered under the covers. When the last one headed off to high school, I began to pen my stories one by one.<.i>"
