Some childhood friends never leave. Some memories refuse to stay buried. When Abigail returns to her family's crumbling Savannah home, she’s drawn into a maze of haunted memories, long-forgotten whispers, and something lurking deep within the overgrown hedges. The house feels alive with memories, the floorboards creek where no foot steps. Shadows call to her under the trees. As Abigail begins to unravel the truth of what happened in that house she must decide whether the madness was always inside her… or if something far older has taken root in the Savannah shadows.
Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I have five published books in the Haunted Historical Mystery Series and will have two more published in 2024 – Seraphim and A Wiccan Haunting. In this series I endeavor to take my readers on a journey around the United States and around the world to be fascinated by our history in a series of chilling books I hope you will love.
In my standalone book, A Haunted Madness, I use a blend of mystery and paranormal elements to weave together secrets and revelations in a gripping story. I hope that you will enjoy this book of intrigue and suspense that will keep you turning the pages until the very end.
When I'm not writing, my husband and I are camping, roasting marshmallows and enjoying family with our two cats, Jelly Bean and Smokey. Any questions or comments?
I want to begin this review by expressing my deepest gratitude to Regina Wixon, who is one of my favorite authors. Thank you for the opportunity to read and enjoy your work; it is a gift that I value with all my heart. Haunting in the Savannah Shadows takes us on a journey into the heart of Savannah, Georgia. A house, a family, and a tapestry of memories form the core of this incredible story. As a deeply passionate and immersive reader, I lived this book exactly as it should be—paired with my coffee or my Matcha. I was so captivated that I devoured it in just four days. The story felt powerful from the very first page; I simply couldn't put it down. The characters and the atmosphere transported me directly to Savannah. Regina has a unique talent for making the reader feel like an integral part of the narrative. As the plot took shape, I noticed several brilliant Easter Eggs—if you have read her previous works, you will know exactly what I’m talking about! The characters of Abigail and Ethan truly surprised me, giving off vibes from her other books that I won't mention to avoid spoilers. The ending left me deeply satisfied. I’ve always believed that in this life, you get what you work for: if you do good, you receive good, but if you do wrong, karma will eventually collect its debt. This story touched my heart. I want to congratulate the author because she truly knows how to write stories that reach the people who need them most. I am giving this a 5-star rating—it will grip you from beginning to end. If you love paranormal stories tied to the past, this book is definitely for you. I invite everyone to visit the author's website to learn more about her wonderful work. Regina Wixon holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much!
A haunting, atmospheric return to a place where the past never truly rests. From the moment Abigail steps back into her family’s decaying Savannah home, the story wraps you in a slow, creeping dread that seeps into every shadow and whispered memory.
The setting is exquisite—Southern gothic at its finest. The house feels alive, breathing with secrets, groaning floorboards, and memories that refuse to stay buried. The line between memory and madness blurs beautifully as Abigail digs deeper, and the tension builds with a quiet, unsettling persistence rather than cheap scares.
What truly shines is the psychological pull: you’re constantly questioning what’s real, what’s imagined, and whether the true horror has always lived inside Abigail… or in the ancient darkness rooted in the hedges and trees around her childhood home.
Eerie, emotional, and deeply unsettling, this story lingers long after the final page. A must-read for fans of atmospheric horror and Southern gothic chills. 🖤🌿
Some memories refuse to stay buried… Haunting in the Savannah Shadows is an atmospheric and deeply unsettling journey into memory, fear, and the ghosts that follow us long after childhood ends. Abigail’s return to her family’s crumbling Savannah home sets the tone for a story that feels both eerily familiar and deeply haunting. The house itself becomes a character, with creaking floorboards, whispered echoes, and shadows that seem to breathe just beyond perception. What stood out most was how skillfully the novel balances psychological tension with supernatural dread. You’re left questioning whether the horrors Abigail experiences stem from her fractured memories or something far older and more malevolent. The writing draws you in, and every twist deepens the mystery while keeping a palpable sense of unease. If you enjoy slow-burn hauntings where the real terror lies in what we remember — or choose to forget this one is a compelling read.
Captivating from the start. The author did a great job with pulling the reader in; I could picture the house and the property perfectly. I enjoyed Abigail's character, I felt all her pain and turmoil. I didn't know which way it would go with Ethan, he'd either be a villain or a love interest.... The way the story played out at the end I did not expect, and I was so thrilled to be taken there. The suspense is on point! Well done!
A beautifully eerie Southern Gothic. Abigail’s return to her crumbling Savannah home pulls her into a chilling mix of memory, madness, and lurking shadows. The atmosphere is rich, the tension steady, and the line between the supernatural and psychological keeps you guessing. A haunting, compelling read.
Start reading this story at night in order to get into the creepy haunting atmosphere and let the main character, Abigail, take you on the ride. Thrilling and suspenseful this book leaves you wanting more after you have done reading it.
