Having read Eleanor Crowe’s work before I already knew I loved her unique style of writing, she has a way of drawing you in and helping to really bring the story to life within your mind.
With her latest book Scream for Me she truly does not disappoint, it’s not a book I would recommend for the faint hearted and maybe not something for those of you who are new to the mind altering reality of dark romance, but, for those of us who have read dark romance before settle in, because boy do I have just the book for you!
You can generally tell how dark a book is going to be based on the length of 5he trigger warnings, all I’ll say about this pitch black story is, 2 pages, this is a Paranormal dark romance, so you need to read this with an open mind and discount everything that you thought you knew about Halloween, ghosts and sexuality. This book is sinfully good and more than a little unhinged, although I’m not going to lie to you, this book definitely had moments where I questioned my sanity and my concept of reality.
The character development in Scream for Me was incredible, Huxley, well he is a force of nature (literally I suppose), he’s possessive, obsessive and deliciously depraved, he truly gives the phrase “touch her and die” an entirely new meaning. The chemistry between Huxley and Rae was damn near palpable, I mean there were moments were I almost felt like a voyeur of sorts, the tension between them was explosive in a way that made you want them together even knowing that he didn’t just have red flags he practically was one. That being said the story had its ups and downs with chilling horror, flaming hot levels of spice and an ominous vibe throughout.
With Spooky season just around the corner you should absolutely add this to your tbr, it’s the perfect book to read alone in the dead of night, if you dare?
