I tried to kill the woman who seduced my boyfriend. Turns out, she didn't seduce anyone. Ethan chose her.
And the courts? They chose to call me insane.
Now I’m being locked away in Wellard Asylum—an unsanctioned, brutal facility where the staff are worse than the inmates, and rules don’t exist. But that’s fine. I’ve never met a place that could hold me.
Inside, I learn to sharpen my rage into something useful. Into violence, manipulation, seduction, and pain. I make friends with monsters. I become one.
When I finally get out, I don’t just want revenge.
I am revenge.
With a growing list of names carved into my mind, I begin my hunt—one betrayal at a time. Until I cross paths with Sullivan. Dark. Vicious. Addictive. A man who sees the same hunger in me that he wears like a second skin.
Maybe he’ll kill me.
Maybe I’ll kill him.
Or maybe we’ll burn this whole fucking world down together.
Not sure why but I am sooo drawn to Kata 😈 love the fire she has, her determination to seek revenge against those who have wronged her.
Taken to Wellard Asylum and treated to their punishments doesn’t have the effect the staff were hoping for. Her one true friend within the walls, Jackson finds an out for them both. They plan, the motion in place and they succeed but for how long? On the outside their vengeance knows no bounds however, neither excepted a third person becoming a part of their crusade!
Totally enjoyed this storyline, I mean who doesn’t like a strong FMC, the abuse she tolerates, her masochism, throw in a few m^rders, a little bit of spice and you have the prelude to a full story.
Revenge, Rage, and WTF did I just read... in a good way 😏
Okay Besties... buckle up — "Damaged" (Book #7 in the Wellard Asylum series) is a deliciously dark gut-punch. Orion Azure introduces Kata, Sullivan, and Jackson with a brutality that reads like velvet-wrapped chaos. Calling Kata “unhinged” doesn’t even begin to cover it... she’s viol€nt, obs€ssiv€, and magnetic. The Wellard Asylum setting is savage, as always (staff worse than inmates), and the plot leans hard into revenge, degradation, stalking, branding, and poss€ssiv€ obs€ssion. Sullivan is dark, vicious, and the exact mirror Kata needs and I am here for the wreckage. A strong starter for the trio; can’t wait to see how Azure develops them. Trigger warnings for intense content — if you crave gritty, intense, unhing€d, and chaos-fueled passion, then you'll want to devour this.

This book felt like a prequel to the MCs actual story and book. Truly this book started strong and up until halfway I was really invested especially with Kata and with Dr.Graveheart. I am disappointed there was not more there. It truthfully felt like I read two books packed into one very short story. And it felt as though it switched narratives.
I would have been okay with this but I was just confused with the addition of the other character and felt lost in a few parts.
I will say that if the author writes their story (which I believe maybe they are) I would be interested in reading that story.
I however felt as though it was disconnected for me personally for the series.
Continuing on with the Wellard Asylum series, this one was a bit unconventional in its direction but I enjoyed it because it presented a unique character perspective and storyline to the series.
In several of the books, this far, there's not much romance and the reader is given pretty straightforward erotic horror, whether it be between patients, a doctor or nurse.
In this book, we are introduced to 2 patients, Kata and Jackson. Kata is the FMC but Jackson is more of a side character who will inevitably get his own book in the future. They are both psychotic and both are housed in the asylum.
Although Kata is given the regular treatment (non-con and torture), we aren't privy to the details of the non-con. It's mentioned as they were past events only. However, her torture is definitely something we bare some witness to.
Half of the book describes this and shows her developing friendship with fellow psychopath, Jackson. Then they escape together and the story twists into one of revenge and becomes a dark romance due to her instant connection with a man named Sullivan "Van".
I wasn't too crazy about the "Insta-love" and the abrupt shift in pace BUT it was a novella at only 200 pgs and is obviously gonna be a prequel to another dark romance and, hopefully, a spinoff.
I am actually very curious for the story to continue and have high hopes that it'll develop into an interesting plotline.
Asylum series Horror Dark romance Non-con mentioned but off page He falls first Stalker romance Insta-lust/love Revenge plotline Psychopath x patient Found family - fellow asylum patient Touch her and die Who did this to you?
WELLAR(D) ASYLUM SERIES D - Damaged by Orion Azure
My Rating: 3.5⭐️ Dark Erotic Horror Novella Betrayal & Revenge Unconventional Ending/HEA Cliffhanger My Spicy Rating: 1🌶
Damaged, book seven, is part of The Wellard Asylum Shared World Series full of erotic horror books from 13 different authors.
I'm reviewing based on it's relation to the Wellard Asylum Series. I didn't like the last half and the ending. The book started good. Had me hooked. The parts inside Wellard were interesting but then it became slow and boring. It completely took a different turn then how it started. But I understand why it went this way. It seems like this will be a prequel novella to another book so that's why the story went differently. I feel the book had so much potential. The MMC wasn't mentioned or involved until 60% into the book. At that point, his obsession just felt too fake. Would have been better if Sullivan became obsessed at the beginning of the book instead of later. Even the Dr. could have been the MMC. So much more horror could have happened inside Wellard. Again, it started good, but it took a different turn and now I don't feel it's part of Wellard Asylum Series. There also weren't any erotic scenes until about 77% into the book and by then, the book was almost over. Didn't feel like erotic horror. Just horror. Also, killing Ethan and Vicky took way too long. It was unnecessary to spread it out into 5 chapters. Regardless, I really like this series. 6 more books to go.
I think I have a new favourite FMC…what a bada$$ Kata is! 🖤
Orion’s writing had me hooked from page 1 and I flew through this in one sitting.
Kata and Jackson are two good friends who also happen to be patients at Wellard Asylum. One night, after taking more than enough abuse from 2 of the staff, they take the ultimate risk and make a break for it, escaping the asylum. After a mysterious stranger, Sullivan, has an instant and intense attraction to Kata he decides to trail the duo. What happens next is a series of unhinged, dark and depraved events.
*Please check the trigger warnings with this one as there is an event near the end which some people may want to skip through*
Through this series I've discovered I very much need more dark asylum books in my life. This was another new author for me. The whole anthology thing is really working but my tbr list is also growing like it's alive!
I have to say I don't know how I feel about the way Van was introduced into the story. It felt a little abrupt I guess, because he came out of absolutely nowhere, but I do like the character.
I went through the authors book list because the very end made it feel like this could have been an already established world but I didn't find anything so hopefully this story will be carried on at another time. I'll be watching because I'd love to see what happens in the future.
I just finished Damaged, one of the books in the Wellard Asylum series. It started off really strong for me. The FMC, Kata, is pretty badass, and I absolutely loved her character. I also liked Jackson, though I wish his character had been developed a little more deeply.
Where the book lost me was toward the end. It just didn’t feel realistic anymore—not even within a fictional context. Things started to feel a bit cheesy, especially once they ran into Sullivan and everything that followed. I don’t want to give too much away and spoil it, but that part definitely took me out of the story.
Overall, a strong beginning with characters I enjoyed, but the ending didn’t quite stick the landing for me.
“Hell hath no fury than a betrayed woman pissed the fck off.”
Damaged was a story about Kata and her journey from the time she was sentenced, to going to the Asylum, then of course the end. this is a non spoiler review. I know it said she had Bipolar Disorder in the beginning. Coming from someone with Bipolar Disorder, the way that she was acting and described i would say isn’t Bipolar Disorder. Sometimes its easier not to use a full label. i liked how the story unfolded. i liked not knowing what was going to happen next and getting to know the side characters throughout reading the books. i wish they would have stayed more at Wellard because the plot got kind of lost but i still enjoyed the characters as a whole.
✨🖤Damaged🖤✨ Author: Orion Azure Part of the Wellard Asylum Series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book started out really rough.
There was trauma after trauma. And then they escaped hell. Kata and Jackson escaped such a violent place. And they set out to get revenge for the wrong doings of their pasts.
He sees her, and immediately claims her as his. He follows them, to make sure his woman stays safe. And then he shows them, that he’s there to help.
Sullivan is such a good book boyfriend. He doesn’t want to change her, he’s there to support her in every way. SWOONING!
I honestly wish there was more to their story, and I want to see where it goes.
Another dark, twisted book in the Wellard Asylum series.
The FMC, Kata was an interesting character and I would love to learn more about her. It was also fun to read about a character who has the same name as me.
The plot was fast paced and I liked how you never knew what was going to happen next. I wish more of the story would have taken place in Wellard Asylum.
“Hell hath no fury than a betrayed woman pissed the fuck off.” “The only thing I will regret…is not being able to take my time with your death” “Her chaos needs my calm. My apathy craves her passion. And our demons are the same.”
I was ELATED when this one finally dropped. It was hitting the mark so well. The Asylum was working in all the right ways...until it flipped and went the other way. I'm not really sure why it went in that direction when it was going so well, but I was hoping for a different ending? Something with more ultimate damage, more deranged aspects? It's almost too open ended. Which normally is fine, but it just leaves too much left unsaid with the size of the novella. A little more exposition would have rounded this off at the end. I know there's the potential for more, but I don't like waiting. It just left me feeling unfulfilled. I would, however, have loved a chapter or two from Jackson's P.O.V.
I didn’t know where this story was going if I’m honest. I loved the characters as a whole but I was expecting more of an asylum setting than I got. I loved getting to know the characters and their journeys but the plot fell apart and I was genuinely confused about a lot of things that were happening. I liked not knowing what was happening but I feel like the story could have had a steadier plot.
I tore through this one in one sitting—dark, savage, and utterly unrelenting. The narrator’s transformation from accused woman to cold-blooded force of reckoning is visceral and intoxicating, and Sullivan’s dangerous pull only makes the hunt more addictive. If you like your revenge novels twisted, bloody, and with characters who aren’t asking for forgiveness, this will bury its teeth in you and never let go. I loved how Orion shared some great news at the back of the book. Thank you, Orion. This one was a ride that I enjoyed very much. I highly recommend this book!
Damaged is book #7 in the Wellard Asylum series and I LOVED Kata!! She reminded me of... ME! Getting sent away for handling the beeches trying to get at your bf is a bit much, imo, but ok. As long as we have a list of people we will handle accordingly. Oh! We do?! And a bestie who is ride or ☠️ too?! Sweet! I'm in! Who is that hunky guy we ran into at the grocery store? Van, you say? We'll take him too! This was another great book in the series and I highly recommend it for my fem rage book besties. 😈
I really thought with how it opened this was going to be perfect. On theme and all of it. Nope.
The ending wasn't complete. There could have been a few more chapters to finish that! What do you mean he saw her and he just knew they were soulmates?! This isn't supposed to be that kind of book!
Once again we have main female character whose freedoms were taken and sentenced to a life in Wellard Asylum.
Rarely does any of the patients have intentions on staying so while trying to plot an escape we get another taste of the despicable practices from the Wellard staff.
Top notch professionals at their finest. It’s cringe it’s insanity it’s page after page of unhinged chaos.
Another incredible addition to the Wellard Asylum series! My first Orion Azure read and certainly not my last. This series has been nothing but brutal staff and insane patients but I love every second of this series. This story added more darkness and I wanted more!
This fantastic edition to the Wellard Asylum collection left me longing for more. I wanted this story to carry over to another book. I crave knowing what unhinged madness is going to happen with Kata, Van, and Jackson. It’s that good!
You can give me a obsessed FMC any day and I will love it. I don't know why but a unhinged FMC just tickles me and this book hit all the right buttons. This is a fast paced quick and triggertastic read.
For some reason I can't stop reading this series even though it is pitch black with a million triggers! Kata is a truly crazy but interesting character and Sullivan is dark and possessive. I'm also intrigued to read more about her friend Jackson. Loved Orion Azure's writing as usual.
So, I fucking LOVED this one. I love the FMC. She is the perfect FMC, literally, everyone take notes. It ended so abruptly that I require more story. Like now. Also, where does one find a friend like Jackson?
I felt like this one wasn't as dark, which was a nice change. Don't get me wrong it's still dark but I just felt, it had a little bit of a lighter touch.
Touch her 'nd you 💀 Obsessive / Possessive FMC Stalking Murd3r 🔪
Insanely disturbing!! Wellard Asylum is not the place to heal. Kata endures hell and begins plotting deaths and her escape. Who will survive Kata? Gruesome, terrifying and raunchy! Read Reaponsibly
