Chance plays a part in all of our lives. Charlotte knows this better than most, after all, it was a chance meeting with the darkly handsome Logan Tyler that led to her fairy tale wedding and new life.
But her new life isn't all it seems... Logan isn't all he seems....Charlotte finds herself locked in an abusive and destructive relationship.
In her darkest days, when she has given up all hope, she will discover that all true love needs is just one chance.
When I was still in High School, one of my friends smuggled in a book she had found in her Mom's bedside drawer. It was Princess Daisy by Judith Krantz. As a group we giggled over the steamy sex scenes in that book, but I was more than amused, I was intrigued (amongst other things) and asked if I could borrow it.
Well you know what? I never actually gave it back and I realize now, that was the beginning of my love affair with erotica. It wasn't long before I began writing my own erotic stories, all of which are still hiding away in a dusty briefcase in my wardrobe. Apart from an embarrassing discovery by my mother in those earlier days, my experience has been a positive one and I continued writing for my boyfriends and eventually my husband, all of whom loved my work.
At my husbands encouragement I decided to publish one of his favorites "Taking Jenny" onto Kindle last year and 30,000 sales of my stories later, here I am. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you continue to enjoy my stories...I have lots more to tell.
Do you think that things happen to us by chance or fate?
Charlotte thought that her life revolved around chance. A chance meeting on the street lead her into Logan. Logan started out charming and very sweet but thing suddenly turned wrong.
This book was strange one for me. To me it was like watching someone jump off a building with no parachute. You just keep reading waiting for that person to hit the ground HARD.
Charlotte saw herself as a independent woman. She didn't need anything from a man. She didn't even want one actually. She never saw herself married or even having kids. But one night by CHANCE everything changes.
Charlotte was being harassed by a bunch of little kids and even though she tried to stand up for herself the boys still didn't leave her alone. Not until Logan showed up to save her. Her first initial reaction was that she didn't like Logan even with him saving her. It was chance they met again while Logan was walking a dog in front of her building. Logan weaseled his was into her life and they started dating. Logan never told her about himself. He got her so wrapped in romance and constant attention that she never even thought about it. Logan is a master manipulator. Everything he did with her was some type of manipulation and mind control thing. Even down to little things like the first kiss he manipulated that too. It was sad watching there relationship progress and how drastically things would change. i don't want to give too much of this book away but it is one crazy ride and when you finally get to the end and watch Charlotte hit the pavement its a relief and a little weird.
My thoughts on Charlotte is that i don't understand her. for someone who claimed to be independent she found herself repeating the same offenses even if the situation was different.
Altogether this book was quite interesting. It deserves this 4 Star rating. As confusing and bothersome as the book was it was also great!
This book drove me crazy!! I kept reading Charlotte’s thoughts and thinking she was an idiot. HOWEVER, I couldn’t stop reading her thoughts. I saw it all playing out in front of me on the Kindle, but I was still shocked as things happened.
Charlotte was a naive adult woman. She didn’t have any real relationship experience and she didn’t know what she was getting into when she started seeing Logan. I despised Logan from the 2nd or 3rd meeting. He was a control freak and I spent many hours trying to see how Charlotte could be so blind to everything he was doing to her.
When the accident happened and Logan was hospitalized, I was hopeful he wouldn’t come out of it, but no such luck. I can’t believe how wrapped up in them I became while I read. I really wanted to throat punch Charlotte many, many times.
I liked how the story was told - the prologue catching back up about half way through the novel. I enjoyed knowing that she was going to escape (at least try) when I realized exactly what kind of guy Logan was.
I don’t like weak heroines, but I found myself rooting for Charlotte here and there and was surprised at how she handled things. She was such a strong willed person and then to become a slave to Logan’s whims was shocking. HOWEVER, I do know the power of guilt and he was really good at stacking that on her.
Overall, I enjoyed the writing and the story, but the characters seemed unreal. How could she deal with all of that bull and stay with him? How could she shift her feelings so easily when he wanted? How could you not know the kind of work your significant other was in? There were so many questions for me, but you know what? I kept reading because the story really sucked me in.
I rolled my eyes one too many times reading this book. From the depths that the heroine gets herself into, getting married so quickly and finding herself with a control freak. Anyone could have seen that coming a mile away.
To the second half where she immediately falls into someone who is just "so amazing" and polar opposite. Way too unbelievable and cheesy.

"I'll always find you, you know? There's nowhere for you to hide from me. I'll always find you and bring you back. But, if you ever try to leave me again, I'll go to your parent's house and I'll kill them both with my bare hands. Don't think I won't."
Doesn't that quote just give you the chills? I know when I read it, I got goosebumps! I did enjoy the suspense that takes place in this story. There were times that I was nervous because I had no idea what was going to happen.
Charlotte meets Logan and her relationship with him moves along pretty fast. In the beginning, everything was perfect. Logan was the perfect boyfriend, always showing his love and support to Charlotte. Then little by little, Logan starts to change and Charlotte's life is no longer the fairytale she thought it was going to be. In fact, it becomes a nightmare that she can't wake up from. Logan starts to take everything away from Charlotte. Soon she becomes a prisoner in her own home. Charlotte also knows that Logan is keeping things from her, specifically what he does for a living. Charlotte has had enough and decides to leave him. However, she quickly realizes that its not as easy as she thought it would be.
While Charlotte is trying to get out an abusive relationship, see comes across someone that is there for her and helps her start a new and better life. I was happy to see that in the end, everything worked out, and Charlotte got her happily ever after!

Kindle Unlimited thank goodness because if I'd purchased this book individually I'd be kicking myself in the butt. I appreciated how Ms. Palmer explained how the anti-H isolated the h but c'mon - the h tells us how amazing she is, how strong, how content she is to be alone - yet she still falls for him early on when there were WAY TOO MANY WARNING SIGNS. Run, run as fast as you can.
Then she falls in love or whatever with the H who is treating her in the hospital as she's trying to escape her husband?! By this time I don't want the h to suffer or be abused but I DO NOT CARE about her at all.
It was a very difficult read because I disliked the h immensely.
What an interesting book! I liked it book very much. It grabbed me quickly and then held my attention. The abusive relationship was intense for me to read. It was so deceptive in how sweet and attentive he was initially. Then he became increasingly controlling until it was downright scary. I enjoyed the suspenseful aspects of this book. I loved the REAL romance in it. Truly sweet and fun to read. What an amazing heroic hero. I wish they made them like that in real life! I recommend this book.
This story really makes me stop and wonder how many women are in abusive relationship and can’t get out of them? Logan is charming, sweet , but he isolate Charlotte from her friends and family. Before too long, they are married and the beating started. Charlotte finds helps with a Dr after she wrecks the car and ends up in the hospital.
this book took me two day to read and I must say I enjoyed the read. I couldn't wait to get to the end to go d out what happen and I wasn't disappointed
