Harold E. Kohn (1918–1975) was a pastor, artist, naturalist, and counselor who served for many years in Charlevoix, Michigan. This collection gathers his beloved Christmas writings and illustrations, carefully curated from many of his books, preserving both his wisdom and his artistry for new generations of readers.
I loved this illustrated Advent book. The subtitle is, "25 Illustrated Daily Reflections to Prepare Your Heart for the Season." This gentle book uses thoughts from nature and the ordinary, with black and white drawings by the author, to encourage deeper thinking about faith, pointing us back to our Creator.
The message was great but the delivery left itself lacking. Wiring in gibberish poetry doesn't make it easy to follow. Deposit having some great points, the constant abstract illustration of the wording made it difficult to decipher where the writer was going.
I loved this serene, simple devotional for the Advent season. The book is filled with daily reflections and related scriptures as well as beautiful black and white author drawn illustrations.
