A good story with good writing that occasionally stumbles due, I believe, to translation issues.
Iokasti and Adriana are billed as the primary characters of the book, but the story is really several stories, each with its own set of characters, woven together into one. This is not bad, just not quite what was promised.
The translation issues lead to occasional inconsistencies in the story. The sun rising at dusk and inconsistencies in the described height of the orc riding animals being examStar. I think it also led to some unusual formatting of the text (bold where in English is would have been italic). Those issues cost it a star.
I do feel I got my monies worth and I will keep an eye out for the hinted second book.
