Rachel Hatch has returned to Hawk’s Landing, hoping for a rare moment of normal. And the chance to leave the past where it belongs.
But when Jed asks her to look into the disappearance of his nephew, Hatch is pulled far from home to the stark wilds of Wyoming’s Wind River country. The young man has been living on the edge of a reservation, caught up in drugs and trouble. Now he’s vanished—and Hatch is the only one willing to follow the trail.
What begins as a search for a missing person spirals into something far darker. A killer is hunting victims in the shadows of the mountains, weaving Native lore into a chilling ritual of death. Hatch must push her limits to stop a predator who believes the land itself is on his side.

Rachel Hatch has returned to Hawk’s Landing, hoping for a rare moment of normal. And the chance to leave the past where it belongs.
After a massive battle with some nasty villains, and just surviving, a trip home and a rest and recovery and seeing the family, no, never possible for Rachel Hatch.
But when Jed, her step dad asks her to look into the disappearance of his nephew, Hatch is pulled far from home to the stark wilds of Wyoming’s Wind River country. The young man has been living on the edge of a reservation, caught up in drugs and trouble. Now he’s vanished—and Hatch is the only one willing to follow the trail.

And out here, one wrong step means no way back home.
All I can say is last night, I read half the book in one go finishing at 1.30 AM !
The last half of the book was great, fast paced, gripping and tense
Ordered number 16 in the series.
Great to have another series that I am up to date with !
I really like the books by L. T. Ryan, but there are a few inconsistancies in this one. Hatch goes home for her niece's birthday. She is sitting in front of the house she helped her father build. Then she looks at the doorknob and says it has been there since before she was born but a minute before you learn she helped her father build the house. Then after her niece's party, her niece goes to bed with her presents. A little while later after the dishes are done, Hatch looks in the living room where her niece is using one of her presents. She had gone to bed with them, how come she is in the living room with them?

The author's work consistently delivers a compelling narrative, and this book is no exception. While the conclusion left me wanting, the middle section was captivating and engaging. Hatch, the protagonist, navigates unpredictable and intense situations with remarkable resilience. Her unwavering self-assurance and strong moral compass are truly admirable, offering readers an inspiring example of personal integrity and determination. Despite my reservations about the ending, the overall reading experience was thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking. and would be happy for her to help me out..
After her niece's birthday, Hatch goes to Wyoming to check on Luke, Jed's great nephew. When she arrives in Wyoming, Hatch discovers that Luke is the main suspect in a murder investigation. There are drug dealers as well as a murderer to be stopped. Please read this book and find out how Hatch handles everything. I highly recommend this book. Happy reading! ☺️
Hatch never lets me down. I am always impressed by her prowess and attention to detail. She gets it done. This one was a bit twisted in the weapons used as a serial killer was revealed and stopped. Carved human bones. The whole idea makes me shudder. Already looking forward to the next one.
I am never disappointed when reading this series. Always thrilling and entertaining and Switchback is no exception. While still trying to find peace and fulfillment, Rachel returns to Hawks Landing to help her stepdad with a personal mission which turns out to be much more dangerous than anticipated.
Hold on for a truly rough ride this time. Hatch is at her very best and pulls out many techniques I hadn’t seen before. Not everyone survives but the best ones win in the end. Forget about getting to sleep on time as this book keeps you up.
This is a story with something for everyone. The warmth of family. The enduring pain of tragedy. The profound depth of human depravity. The boundless, insidious effect of loss. Great storytelling!
Rachel Hatch agrees to a favor for her stepfather Jed and ends up solving a murder mystery that involves an unlikely serial killer. Hopefully someday in the future she will find peace.
Another outstanding chapter in the Hatch series. She helped Jed with his great nephew issues. The whole plot was really great. 10 stars plus !!! Thanks, Carl Clause
Absolutely fabulous. To be honest sometimes I don’t like to pick up a book by LT Ryan because I can’t get any work done. I get so obsessed with the story that I can’t put the book down. This particular book was fantastic. I always enjoy Rachel Hatch but this particular one was the best! He really pulled out all the stops that made the storyline engaging and entertaining.
