They're soft, they're snuggly, they're adorable, and they're absolutely deranged! Welcome to the plush nightmares of Get Stuffed--a hilariously unhinged collection of short stories where teddy bears commit arson, attend Furry club events, infiltrate Wall Street, and sabotage doomed couples in remote cabins for kicks. These aren't your regular bedtime stories. They're blood-soaked, trauma-inflicting emotional roller coasters!
Inside this delightfully depraved anthology, you'll A feral bear who stumbles into a Furry event for an unforgettable night. A squishy stegosaurus desperate to prove he's a true killer. A possessed luxury bear committing white collar crimes. A lonely leader and the bear whom he loved a little too hard. A Scottish teddy cult demanding a blood sacrifice. And a Valentine's getaway interrupted by a very jealous bear...
Plus many more. This collection of 18 stories penned by Tara York and Rob Bon is as much a fever dream as it is a genre-bending trip through horror, comedy, romance, and everything in between.
Contains stuffie violence, questionable ethics, and language not suitable for actual children--or emotionally fragile teddies.
Tara York was born in London, Ontario and developed a love of writing stories from an early age. She often writes books connected to her love of bad movies and themed parties.
I'm now convinced after reading this collection of mad and psychotic teddy bear tales that I need to seriously seek some kind of medical treatment for myself.
This crude and disturbing book about cute little furry teddies played with my mind, my heart and my childhood memories of my favourite bear called Edward who now sits quietly on my bed in his old age 🧸🐻
The nasty "Buttons" Bear was an evil and nasty serial killer...Who's now on the loose!! I feel some sleepless nights coming on with my duty to protect my beloved Edward!!😟
All the stories in this collection held their own conclusions...but don't be fooled by these sweet stuffed toys!!
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐'s for making me question my own sanity 🧸😱😨😵🧸
The first story in this collection is "Speak Softly and Carry a Big Grudge." It reads like a fictionalized documentary. It had a crude humor to it, which I liked. The next story is "The Squishiest Killer." This story was told in broad strokes. It too had a fictionalized documentary feel, but there was some immersion into the main character's perspective. It felt like it needed to keep going when it ended. The next story is called "The Bear Club." It's a mixture of gore and comedy. There are a lot of rapid perspective shifts and sometimes an omnipresent narrator. This book is filled with sexual and violent humor. As a fan of this type of fiction, I loved that part. It was a bit tarnished by the rapid shifts in perspective and omnipresent narration halting immersion, though. Still, I found it entertaining and would recommend it to lovers of this type of humor.
A madcap collection of short stories featuring teddy bears doing things bears should not be doing. Several of the stories connect to a plot by Mr. Buttons, a sociopathic teddy.
