Tess Thompson Romance...hometowns and heartstrings.
Tess Thompson is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of contemporary and historical Romantic Women’s Fiction with over 60 published titles. When asked to describe her books, she could never figure out what to say that would perfectly sum them up until she landed on, Hometowns and Heartstrings.
She’s married to her prince, Best Husband Ever, and is the mother of their blended family of four kids and five cats. Best Husband Ever is seventeen months younger, which qualifies Tess as a Cougar, a title she wears proudly. Her Bonus Sons are young adults with pretty hair and big brains like their dad. Daughters, better known as Princess One and Two, are teenagers who make their mama proud because they’re kind. They’re also smart, but a mother shouldn’t brag.
Tess loves lazy afternoons watching football, hanging out on the back patio with Best Husband Ever, reading in bed, binge-watching television series, red wine, strong coffee and walks on crisp autumn days. She laughs a little too loudly, never knows what to make for dinner, looks ridiculous kickboxing in an attempt to combat her muffin top, and always complains about the rain even though she chose to live in Seattle.
She’s proud to have grown up in a small town like the ones in her novels. After graduating from the University of Southern California Drama School, she had hopes of becoming an actress but was called instead to writing fiction. She’s grateful to spend most days in her office matchmaking her characters while her favorite cat Mittens (shhh…don’t tell the others) sleeps on the desk.
She adores hearing from readers, so don’t hesitate to say hello or sign up for her newsletter: http://tesswrites.com/. You’ll receive an ebook copy of her novella, The Santa Trial, for your efforts.
5 stars. Lila/Vance's love story is a winner. The second dating app match of the series and my favorite couple thus far. Sweet, adorable story of a single mom and a single dad getting together thanks to Lila's daughter/Mia and her friends' successful meddling. The most heartwarming and emotional part of the story was Vance and his 10 yr old daughter/Margot being reunited after a 6 year absence. There's a side mini drama involving Lila and a remodeling show, but the focus of the story is the loving bond that develops and grows between this eventual family of four.
Which couple is up next? I can't wait to find out. I'm not quite ready to leave this small coastal town with its feel-good vibe just yet. Going back to read the prequel.
Second Pairing (The Parent App Book 2) By: Tess Thompson
5 Stars
Lila is still feeling the loss and pain from her divorce, but when her daughter Mia and her friends come up with an app to help with romance, well she decides it may just be time to get out there. It has been 5 years. She runs a successful business and has a happy and healthy daughter. Plus, her other mom friends were doing it. So why not take a chance and see how it goes?
Vance has been all over, but now he is home in Willet Cove taking over the family home. With his mother in a retirement community, he plans to remodel his family home and hopefully share it with someone special, his estranged daughter, Margot. A daughter his ex has kept from him for six long years. By chance he ends up on a dating site. Maybe he can heal the pain from his ex and the loss of a daughter.
Okay! The first thing I have to say is that these kids are the BEST! Between the app and the "algorithms" these kids make this story, heck, this whole series so much more loveable. Oh, how I adore Mia. She had me grinning and giggling so much. Margot bless her, stole my heart. Oh how I loved this story. This story is a heart touching romance blended with bits of mystery, drama, danger, and comedy. Soul encompassing, perhaps is a good way to describe it. I have read many books by Tess, but this is probably my favorite. It was real and gritty. It was sweet with its sour bits, but it was filled with so much heart and love and family. It really had me. I can keep going, but ill end it eith this was the best book yet. I know anything that comes next will continue to win hearts, minds, and souls.
The Parent App series is phenomenal! I love the close friendships of all of the moms and also of their children. The Second Pairing focuses on Lila and her daughter Mia and their story is a great one! The issues that Lila had with the filming crew were a bit intense but I’m hoping that’s all water under the bridge for her and her family. Thank you Tess for allowing me to be part of your ARC team and reading your amazing books!
Another wonderful addition to the wonderful The Parent App series by wonderful author Tess Thompson. They are all second-chance romances, all warm, romantic, and funny. Refreshing and rewarding. But each story is unique in its own way. The five women in their parent group - Lila, Seraphina, Esme, Gillian, and Delphine – are as close as can be, always there for one another. But they are very different in their personalities, talents and skills and needs and desires. The same goes for their children - Mia, Tyler, Annie, Grace and Robbie. These women and their teenage children have bonded and are now family, but each and every one of them brings something different to the group. How lucky they all are to have one another.
They need each other, because In addition to the heartwarming aspect of each story, your heart will be nearly broken before the happy-ever-after comes around. Lila has been a single parent for five years now, after catching her husband cheating on her. She and daughter Mia are close and Mia is a happy girl, but deep down she would like a father who truly cares about her rather than her biological father who makes the occasional attempt to include her in his new life. And the whole point of developing The Parent App dating app was because all five children believe it’s past time for their single mothers to have a second chance at love.
Lila’s heart has been locked down tight, but after the initial surprise and consternation about the app she had to admit there was a deep yearning in her heart for someone to love – and to love her. Vance’s heart was shattered when his wife took their daughter and went back to California for a family visit and never returned. That was a gut-wrenching surprise, but even worse Nicole told their daughter Margot her father abandoned them, didn’t want her and has blocked all contact. He’s now back in California, too, and determined to do whatever it takes to change that. But he’s worried it may be too late to have a relationship with his little girl.
Lila and Vance are matched on the app and their connection is instant and feels very, very real. They share their histories, aren’t scared off and plan to see much more of each other. But true to form talented author Tess Thompson throws in lots and lots of complications in the way of that forever happiness. When they meet, Lila is taking on an exciting new project as the designer for an old house in Willet Cove. Vance’s family home – good bones but tired – is being remodeled as part of a reality renovation show. Imagine their surprise when they discover the home she’ll be renovating is his. And imagine their further surprise – and a bit, or maybe a lot, of discomfort – when they discover that “reality show” doesn’t always mean everything is real; things are often tightly scripted, like the fake romance the showrunners plan between Lila and the contractor. That’s quite enough to deal with for two people who’ve just met and want to see where this goes, but lately Lila feels like she’s being watched, and it seems like something shady might be going on with part of the crew. And the biggie: Nicole is remarrying and her fiancé doesn’t want children, not someone else’s children anyway, so she will give full custody of Margot to Vance for a million dollars. The money isn’t a problem, but how is he going to convince this 10-year-old girl that he’s always loved her, always wanted her.
Instead of running away from the unexpected chaos that is now Vance’s life, Lila vows to stand by his side and support him and Margot however she can. But is it all too much? You will absolutely love reading this tender, sweet, poignant story and finding out. Thompson has done it again: pulled you in, wrapped you up in the love, taken you over some really rough patches, and given you a very satisfying ending. All the folks you love are back, the town is as charming as ever, and the baddies are perfectly bad. I received an advance copy of Second Pairing as part of Tessers Review Crewsters. I loved it and you will, too. I can’t wait to see which mom is up next in this series. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.
Second Pairing is the second book in the Parent App series by Tess Thompson. I can’t tell you how enjoyable this series is. I really like it and after I read the prequel, I knew I was going to love the series. I wasn’t wrong. If you like good clean romances, you will like these books. I find myself seeking out books that take me away from the everyday stress of life. I want a book that makes me happy I read it and makes me think about it long after I turn the last page.
The premise of these books is that mothers are invited to coffee on the first morning their children start school for the first time. Six of the women there bond from the first meeting and essentially become family over the years. Some of them were single and some were married. They all eventually became single parents. They help each other out and have family dinners each Sunday evening.
The kids are all headed for high school in the fall and knowing they will be leaving their mothers when they go off to college, they cook up a plan to put their profiles on a dating app so they are not left alone. How cool is that? Well, the mom’s don’t think it is a good idea. They really don’t want any part of it. One by one they try the app. In this book it is Lila Morgan who meets Vance Prescott. Things don’t always go smoothly. This is one of those stories. You’ll have to read the book to see what happens.
The characters in these books are mostly the same. Each book has a few new ones for that particular story. The core group remains the same and I like catching up with them and getting to know each one a bit more. They all have a good heart and watch out for each other.
If you need a break from all that is going on in the world. If you love a good love story. If you enjoy clean romance. If you just want to sit down and read a good book that will grab your attention and take you away to another world, then the Second Pairing by Tess Thompson is a good bet. Find a spot on your nightstand for these books. You won’t regret the good dreams they bring your way. Until next time…Happy Reading!

When Lila Morgan’s husband left her and their daughter Mia for another woman and family, it had hit them both hard but after several years they realized they were doing better without him. While Lila wasn’t ready to go back to dating again, she and her girlfriends were just thrown into it because of their meddling children. It worked for one of them and now Lila was willing to take a chance. She never thought there could be an instant attraction between her and newcomer to the island Vance Prescott but there was no denying it was there. Especially since they were going to be together when it came to also being thrown together for a TV home show. A show and some people that were trying to cause more problems in their lives than solutions.
Vance Prescott had come back to the US from France with one, okay two purposes. First was to get his daughter back and second to update the house that had been in his family for several generations. He decided to take a chance and see if there was a possibility of finding someone to bring into his life through a dating app. He never imagined that he would luck out on the first match with Lila. She and her daughter could bring so much into his life, including helping with his daughter Margot. Now the question is can they make it through all the problems that were being thrown at them.
This is the second book in the new Tess Thompson series Parent App. All the characters in this book were amazing, loved that Mia was a help to everyone right from the start, especially Margot who just tugged at my heart. It was this wonderful clean romance with a twist or two in it that makes you never want it to end. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.
Thanks to 1852 Media and the author for an ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. Vance and Lila meet and have a lot in common, but they have obstacles to overcome. They are finally ready to start over, but trust isn’t easy for either one of them. He was married and has a young daughter, but her mother hasn’t let him see her for years. He is trying to get her back in his life. Even though, he wants to fall in love, he is leery because of what his ex did. Lila is also having a hard time believing Vance is real. Not only does he seem like he wants her in his life, but he instantly connects with her daughter.
My heart broke for both Mia (her daughter) and Margot (his daughter). Mia had acted as if her dad walking out on her and Lila was no big deal, but once Vance came into her life you could see how much she craved a father figure in her life. Margot truly had a horrible time. Her mom took her away from her Papa and made her feel small and insignificant. Her mom proved to be vile, in my opinion. Once she came to live with Vance, and grow close to Mia she started to feel like a child, even though her past trauma had he waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I loved how neither Vance, nor Lila, faltered. They loved the other’s child as their own and worked through everything together. When her job, one she had wanted for years, finally happens, and they realize her dream job also happens to be his house, they have to be careful. But things start happening and she starts feeling like she is being followed. Who is out to sabotage her and why?
I can’t wait to see her friends find their happily ever afters. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
Vance and Lila are perfectly suited to each other, but Lila has closed herself off from relationships. This is partly because of raising her daughter but mostly because of the damage done to her heart by her husband's affair. The premise of teenagers putting their moms on a dating website is a fun one. Seeing her friend find happiness, and her daughter's confidence in the pairing by the app gives Lila the push she needs to move forward. The passages where Lila and Vance are preparing for their first date are so amusing, as each battles their doubts and insecurities. But things quickly become complicated with a new daughter and a reality TV show testing their relationship. Not all is as it seems to be. Tess Thompson writes books that take you right into the atmosphere of the location and with characters that are real and compelling. The teenagers are each full characters in their own right, with their own ideas and relationships. One thing I enjoyed about this story was Lila and Vance's unwavering commitment to each other, despite the circumstances that could have pushed them apart. This is a standalone and an HEA, but I also recommend the prequel, Second Act, that introduces the five women and their families, and tells how the Parent App comes about. Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. All the opinions expressed are my own.
Such a sweet and fun to read clean series. What happens when five teenagers decide to submit their mom’s profile on a Second Chance dating app? Magic will ensue! Mia loves her mom but after 5 years since her dad up and left them it’s time her mom moves on and finds love. Mia and her friends got busted by their moms for submitting their profiles, but when there was one successful match Mia talks her mom to give it a chance. Mia claims she found the perfect person, but is there such a thing as perfect Lila wonders? Vance returns after many years back home to Willet Cove, determine to find a way to reconnect with his daughter. Six years have passed and his ex after all these years of no contact decide that it’s Vance turn to have full custody of their daughter. With a budding relationship thru the dating app Second Chance, who also winds up as the designer on a reality home improvement show. She has helped with the transition his daughter is facing, but Lila has problems herself. As they both overcome all that life has thrown at them, will they find their HEA? Love the fast read and great storyline. That characters are believable and set in today’s society. Thank you #NetGalley and #4kids5cats for this eARC. All opinions expressed are my own.
I’m a big fan of Tess Thompson’s writing and this series is a perfect example of why. She blends great characters and storylines with elements of challenges and surprises. The series revolves around 5 single moms and their kids, who have really become one big family, each looking out for the others. The kids get the idea to create dating profiles for their moms, each hoping they will meet somebody and be open to dating. Let’s just say that doesn’t go over well with the moms. But after the first mom reconnects with a young love thru the app, in this second book interior designer Lila decides to take the plunge and try a first date, with her daughter Mia urging her on. Enter Vance Prescott, who’s recently moved back to the town where he grew up, getting ready to renovate the family house and trying to reestablish a relationship with his young daughter. Throw in a reality TV design show that isn’t all that it seems, and an ex-wife ready to start a new life with a new husband willing to “sell” Vance his daughter back, these two go from great first date to “oh wow, what have we gotten ourselves into”. Delightful read finding out how they overcome everything to come together as a new family. I loved this book.
Lila is a single mom who works her tail off to run her interior design business. She worked through the divorce to become one of the best.
Vance just moved back from France to try to spend time with his daughter. After her mother brought her back home so many years ago, he was devastated and left with a hole in his heart the size of his daughter. His mother gave him their house, and he moved her into a retirement community.
Lila just got the job that would launch her career, who wouldn't want to be on tv, right? How was she to know it would be the house of the man she just met through the app her daughter set her up on? Fate works in mysterious ways.
Read through the ups and downs of growing together, juggling a career, building a relationship, getting to know a beautiful little girl, the struggles of being on rrality tv, all the drama of it all, and still finding a way of staying together through the thick of it.
This book was exactly what I needed. Being a single parent is hard. Tess always has a way to remind you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's worth the hard times to see what fate has in store for you.
Tess Thompson never ceases to amaze me with one great book after another! Second Pairing is the second book in the Dating App series. Single mom, Lila, allows her daughter, Mia, to post her profile on a dating app. Lila meets her perfect match in Vance, a sommelier who recently returned from Paris to his hometown of Willet Cove. You would think life would be peaceful in this small town beach community but life with Lila and Vance has one challenge after another from starring in a home design reality show to a stalker but the best story of all is the return of Vance’s 10-year-old daughter, Margot, who he had not seen since she was very young.
I loved the storyline of Margot and how Mia was instrumental in bringing Margot out of her shell. I not only loved how the relationship between Lila and Vance grew, but also how Lila, Vance, Mia, and Margot grew into a family. It was so touching and heart-warming.
I must warn you, don’t start reading this book if you have other tasks to complete because you won’t be able to put it down.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. The opinions I have expressed are my own and I was not required to write a review.
Second Pairing is amazing. This is book 2 in the Parent App series and I'm so in love with this group of single moms and their kids. This is Lila's story. She is the interior designer who has balanced her work life and her daughter Mia. I adore Mia so much. She is such a kind old soul. I love the relationship with Mia and her mom Lila. Vance is back in his hometown and finally ready for more in life. He knows his wine and since his app sold he is trying to figure out how to be back in his daughter's life after 6 years. I love how he never gives up on her. I love the instant connection Vance and Lila have. The chemistry is amat and Vance will own your heart as he treats Mia as his own. I love how Mia helps Vance's daughter reconnect with Vance. That bound is amazing as they grow close just like sisters. I love how Lila is so encouraging and gentle with Vance's daughter. I love the twist added in this one. I could not put this down. I cannot wait for more to come. Go one click this today.
Lila and her friends have children who feel their Moms need to find love. Mia, Lila’s daughter, signed her up for the dating app just as her friends had done for their Moms. Vance has returned to his hometown and decides to sign up for the dating app. Mia decides he is the best choice for her and encourages her to take a chance. So Lila takes a chance and agrees to meet Vance. They both seem to like each other but they both have lots of concerns and fears. Vance’s wife walked away from him in France with their daughter and refused to let him have any contact with her. When he moves back to the U.S., he decides he is going to work to at least get to know his daughter again. Lila then agrees to work on a TV show, remodeling Vance’s family home. Except there are things that keep happening during the remodel and postings on social media that would indicate someone is following her and Vance. The story is full of intrigue, good and bad, and how Vance finally is able to get his daughter back. The interactions are so wonderful. Loved this story.
Tess Thompson will tug your heartstrings in book two of the Parent App series. OK to start the series here, but I would go back and read the prequel: Five single moms are raising their young teen children as a village. But the kids worry about their moms being lonely when they finish high school and leave the nest, so they create profiles for each mom on a dating app. Each subsequent book focuses on a single mom and her kid as she finds a second chance at love.
This is Lila's story. An interior designer balancing her work life and her daughter Mia, Lila is scarred from her ex-husband's cheating and afraid to move into a new relationship until she sees how happy her BFF is after finding love on the Second Chance App (book one). She agrees to take a chance and finds Vance Prescott, who is a 98% match according to the son of one of her BFF's algorithm. All looks like it's perfect until Ms. Thompson throws twists and turns into the plot. A clean emotional romance that takes readers on a rollercoaster. Second Pairing is a great beach read.
This is another engaging romance featuring a group of 5 teens and their mothers. They are a wonderfully supportive community of friends. This book 2 features Lila, who is a gifted interior designer. She is hired to be on a design TV show, while remodeling Lance's old family home. Lance is a millionaire due to his wine tasting app he developed and sold. He has returned to Willet Cove to try to gain access to his 10 yr old daughter Margot. Lance and Lila are drawn to each other rather quickly. It turns out that Lila's 14 yr old daughter Mia is good at drawing Margot into the fold, and they become a close-knit group. There are forces working against the house remodel, that causes great angst. This is a nice break from Christmas madness, to escape into this caring community. Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. All the opinions expressed are my own.
Unputdownable! Seeing Gillian’s success on the dating app Grace compiled, Mia’s mom, Lila, decides to take another chance on the app, too, and is soon in contact with Vance, previewed and approved by Mia, of course 😊! Tess Thompson’s new instalment of her Parent App series contains all the excitement, romance, suspense and positive family vibes readers can wish for. Her experience as an author is evident in the buildup to the climax of the book, and the subsequent easing of the tension as the family unites in the resolution of the threats they have experienced. Two equally significant parallel storylines are woven into the novel: that of Lila’s developing relationship with Vance, and her new career as a TV reality show interior decorator. Adding the sub-themes of abandonment, insecurity and potential danger makes this story a winner, even better than Book 1! I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary review.
Second Pairing is the second book in this series. We meet Lila and Vance. Lila is a home interior designer and had redesigned all of her friends houses. She also has a daughter named Mia. That put her mom’s profile on a dating app.
Vance on the other hand came up with a wine app with a friend after living and cooking in France. He also became a semolina. While living and cooking in France Vance’s wife takes their daughter back to the US and refuses to return her to Vance. He doesn’t see her for 6 years and fights everything he can to get her back. His mom’s wanting to move into a retirement community due to her age so he moves back to the US to take care of the house.
Lila is offered a position on a reality TV show to fix up a house and Vance is offered to have is house put on the show. Will both of them survive the stress?
You have to read to find out how their story unfolds. This one was by far my favorite.
Second Pairing is single mum Lila Morgan and Vance Prescott’s story set in the small town of Willet Cove. It’s book two in The Parent App Series where the children have added their single mums to a dating app and I loved everything about this witty and entertaining read. Lila agrees to go on the date her daughter set her up with never expecting it to go anywhere but from the moment she meets Vance sparks fly. An even bigger surprise is finding out he is her new client on a TV reality design show. Working together means lines will get crossed so will this be the start of a forever romance or will being together 24/7 tear them apart……… This is a well written, entertaining, witty read with characters I fell hard and fast for. I laughed at the meddling children, I swooned at the sizzling chemistry and I found myself cheering for Lila and Vance.
5 Star Review Second Pairing (The Parent App #2) by Tess Thompson
You know sometimes when you read a blurb you cannot help but be intrigued, that’s how I felt when I read the blurb for The Parent App series.
This is single mum Lila Morgan and Vance Prescott’s story set in Willet Cove.
Set up by her daughter with Vance, the sparks ignite between them but suddenly life becomes complicated when Vance turns out to be her client on her new design show.
There is humor, romance, meddling children and drama in this book which made it an entertaining read.
What happens when the lines become blurred? Will Lila take a leap of faith to and in doing so find the happiness she deserves?
Second Pairing is the second book in The Parent App series. This a fantastic series! I love Lila and Vance’s story. They’re both divorced single parents. Lila’s ex left and doesn’t have anything to do with Mia. Vance’s ex took his daughter Margot from their home in France to the United States and kept her from him for 6 years. He wants her back and is going to do everything to get her back. This is such a sweet, fun read full of love, family, great characters and a wonderful storyline! I loved how Mia helped Margot adjust to her new life. I absolutely loved Second Pairing! I can’t wait for the next book in The Parent App series!
This is the second book in this series and was such a page turner. This is Lila's turn for romance. Her daughter Mia paired her with Vince. Little did she know he was the homeowner on the series she was excited about filming. Lila is a designer and thought this would be a great way to make her business even more successful to support her and her daughter. Little did she know mischief was a foot. This story definitely tugs at your heart strings and makes you appreciate family. I can't wait to see what happens in book three. Thanks to the publisher for a chance to read this book. My opinions are my own.
Tess wrote story that brought tears to my eyes with Lila and Vance. Lila was a single mom who got hurt and her daughter Mia made a dating app for her. That is when she met Vance. They started falling for eachother when Lila was to renovate his house but didn't find out it was him first day on site of his house. Vance was called my his ex-wife that he need to take his daughter back. Thanks to Mia got her talking and bring her to talking to her papa. Tess wrote a remarkable story that kept me reading and put it down. Tess match her characters put wonderfully. As I was reading I pictured myself there with them.
Fun new addition to The Parent App series by ate SS Thompson. Lila’s daughter, with the help of her friends, put a profile on a dating app for her mom. Vance answers the app and they agree to meet. There is instant attraction but then drama enters their lives with him getting total custody of his ten year old daughter. Her mother had kept her away from him for six years but now wants her freedom. Lila feels like she’s being followed but keeps second guessing herself. More complications when they discover they are in a reality show together. *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
The second full length novel of this series sees interior designer Lila matching up with someone on an app her daughter signed her up for and getting a dream job shooting a design TV show. Little does she know what awaits her. Vance is back in town with two goals: restore his mom's house as his home and have the process documented in a show and secondly try reunite with his daughter that his ex-wife has poisoned against him. The two match up on the app and suddenly life as they know it is over and a chaotic time lies ahead, juggling family, work, social media and forgotten enemies. A delightful read where everyone gets their happily ever after.
“ A town was just a town. But it was the people who made it a home.”
I love this series, five single mothers, making it on their own, have banded together and formed their own family. Their children want them to find love and enter them into a dating app and we get to follow each woman find true love. We get a front seat to the ups and downs, and the happily ever afters! This is book 2 in the series and I cannot wait to read the remaining three! Written in this authors amazing style, you will fall in love with each and every story!
Tess Thompson is such a clever story teller! I found myself so drawn into the story that I was angry and upset with various characters. I couldn't understand how they could deliberately cause others so much heartache and pain. The journey with Lila and Vance is so tender and supportive. I loved Mia and Margot. I couldn't put the book down, I just had to find out how everything would come together - and it does! I enjoyed finding out how Gillian's pregnancy was coming along. I highly recommend this book.
The Parent App series has become an another one of my favourite series and Second Pairing, the second book, is definitely my favourite so far. (Until the next one comes out, I believe) This is Lila and Vance’s second chance story, thanks to Lila’s daughter, Mia, who put her mom’s profile on the second chance app along with other 4 teenagers of the tight knit single mothers and their kids group who wanted their moms find their happy ever after. I just love those kids, especially Mia who is more mature than her age. Vance and his little sweet daughter Margot easily fits into Lila and Mia’s family of two and Mia is the one who helped them get through this unexpected situation with all the drama of live show and some staged personal vendetta against them. I was pulled into the story and had all sorts of emotions and feelings. Loved it immensely.
Such a wonderful book. These 2 both have trauma in the past. Will they be able to overcome it?
Lila is a single mom who has a cheating ex that doesn't even care about his own daughter. She has no thought of ever having a man in her life. Her career is on the way up with a TV deal, if she can survive the cameras.
Vance has missed 6 years of his daughter's life, robbed from him by his ex wife. He tried everything to find her but was thwarted at every turn. He has finally found financial forture where he doesn't have to worry about money to fight. He wants his daughter in his life, finding love is a pipe dream.
These 2 don't expect to find each other, or that the world will cyclone after they do.
I loved this beautiful story. Lila and Vance have such heartbreaking backstories, and their daughters have gone through terrible times as well. The story is about strength, redemption, perseverance and the power of loving family. The MCs are perfect for each other, their kids elevate the narrative, and the found family really step up to the plate when their support is needed. The book is beautifully written and very engrossing. I will be excited to read the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
