Dalia lets you know from the start this isn’t your typical love story. It’s about obsession and control. This is definitely different from any dark romance I’ve read. It was a bit strange but still an overall good book. If you’re expecting the villain to be reformed, don’t be.

Let me start by saying I love dark romance I loved parts of never yours but others felt so repetitive , it started out so good and it’s not that it turned bad it just continued to repeat the same scene multiple times . Over all i enjoyed it tink and hook retellings are one of my favourite.

If you are here for a dark romance with a morally grey MMC and a HEA, him: toxic individual but a melt when it comes to her type of thing……. Just keep on walking. This book ISN’T for you. Do not skip the TW’s. Do not read and then disregard the TW’s. They are there for a reason. Trust me 👀

The writing is very descriptive and poetic at moments and the story is focussed purely on the relationship dynamic of the 2 characters. If you are looking for plot or characters outside of this, this isn’t for you. If you love a story that digs into the deepest darkest parts of sexual behaviour, the affects of power dynamics, isolation and ownership in a sexual setting, this book has this in spades and may be just what you are looking for. I struggled with this book. Not because it was poorly written or a bad book. Just clearly this style of book is just not for me. But as I’d never read a Dark Romance I thought I’d give it a try. My only disappointment is in the use of the characters Hook and Tinkerbell and the retelling of their story. This is what piqued my interest, but they could have been anyone. The story behind the characters had no bearing or relevance to the story that was written, it just setup a reason for a character to have a hook.

Never Yours is a dark, dangerous, and downright sinful pitch-black romance. It effortlessly twists and manipulates the image of beloved fairytale characters, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook, into something ruinous and sinnister. In this story, Hook is the very definition of depraved and obsessed. With his sights set on Tahlia (Tinkerbell), he meticulously lures her into his twisted web of desires.
Twisted fairytales like Never Yours will always hold a special place in my heart. Each and every retelling feels so familiar yet so foreign. In this particular story, it feels like the author has de-disneyfied these two well-known characters. There is no magic, no second chances, and no redemption arcs. The closest thing we get to pixie dust is shattered glass. It's a stark contrast to what I'd usually expect from a retelling but I absolutely loved it! It was brutal and unforgiving in a way that made me slightly uncomfortable. Would I want to meet anyone like this particular Hook in person? Absolutely not. With that being said, I can't wait to read the next book in this series and I hope to read more from this author when I have the chance!

Tahlia had heard about Hook before; he likes to collect women. He keeps them, hunts them and plays mind games; and they never return. He's been watching her for some time now and knows all about her. Hook has spun his web, and Tahlia unknowingly walks right into it.
Omg, for the first part of the book, the sexual tension 💥🔥. You could almost feel what he was doing to Talia. It does last for many pages as Hook is nothing but patient. Partway through the book, it gets really intense (like really intense) and extremely shocking. I felt so bad and enraged for her from all the craziness and the cruel ways she's being treated. He is not a nice person and is utterly unhinged (and not in any good way). He def played with her mind and fell right into his trap. She did fight back; she was fierce, unhinged, and never gave up.
There was a point where it dragged on a bit and was a little repetitive, but I don't feel it lasted that long. And I think the author was trying to build up to the second part of the book, which I think she did well!
I can't say too much more other than that ending..... 😮🤯👀😢😬

Never yours is not for the faint hearted, let me just start by saying that. If you are not into dark romance, this will probably not be a book for you.
And saying it’s a dark romance might be a stretch. This is dark, pitch black. But the story about Tahlia and Hook is not a story of love. It’s a story of obsession, manipulation and psychological warfare. Me? I ate that shit up, I was hooked (pun intended), and this book found its way into my darkened heart. I’ve read hundreds of dark romance books, but even I had to take a break now and then, so pleasepleaseplease read the triggers and content warnings in the beginning of the book. If you read them, and chose to push through, you’re in for a treat! Don’t go in expecting love and a Hero who will change for the heroine, and you will love this as much as I did!
I would have loved a bit more of a background story for both Tahlia and Hook, but at the same time I don’t, because that wouldn’t have been the same book. We know no more of Hook than Tahlia does, even though half the book is in Hook’s POV, and we know no more of Tahlia than what Hook knows and gives us. And we take all he gives us, just like the good little stars we are 💫

Tahlia is a refreshing change from the typical damsel since she is basically made of spite and shattered glass. Watching Hook decide she was a possession instead of a client set a grim tone that actually lived up to the pitch black labeling. I appreciated that the silver hook was not just a prop but a genuine part of his cold and untouchable persona. The way he peeled back her layers of guarded pink lipstick to find the rage beneath was satisfying to watch. My main gripe is that the beginning felt like it was stuck in neutral while setting the stage for their inevitable collision. The Peter Pan references are subtle enough to not feel like a cartoon but sharp enough to keep the theme relevant. I found the mind games in the bedroom to be appropriately filthy for a villain who wants to own rather than love. It is a solid opening for the Nevernight Girls series and left me wanting to see how Tahlia survives the rest of this ruinous obsession. If you like your fairytales without the happy endings and full of toxic possessiveness, this one delivers.

I think Captain Hook and Tinkerbell retellings generally have a lot of potential, but this one was not for me. Never Yours is more spice and less plot. BUT if you’re into erotica with degradation, dom-sub, Stockholm syndrome, and brat taming themes, this book is for you.
The language was a bit much, with very repetitive sentence structure that came across choppy. Frequent repetition in phrasing patterns made both characters sound exactly like one another. Pacing was uneven and extremely repetitive largely because we spend more time in the characters heads than we do with any events. The Insta-infatuation trope is strong here, and I deeply struggled to understand motivations both from the FMC and MMC. “Everything costs more than what most people make in a month,” and they rehash the same internal conversations over and over. Also I think this woman “signs a contract” at least 12 times.
I enjoy dark romance, and do want to note that the author does a good job here setting the scene about the extremity of events. Please review trigger warnings prior to reading.

You know a book is going to be dark when there’s a comprehensive 5 page list of trigger warnings and why you shouldn’t read the book. But I completely devoured it! California Quinn is my pitch black romance / horror erotica queen and this book was nothing short of a masterpiece. This book was extremely dark and depraved but hey I still loved Hook. The plot is very psychological focused as Hook tries to hold Tink to his will. Everything built up perfectly, and I loved how tink didn’t give up too easily and how it was so suspenseful! I loved the ending, it was so dark and impactful I got chills! This book is not for the weak but I loved it!.

Book 1 of Nevernight Girls starts out with the retelling of Hook and Tink and what a dark and depraved journey!! The intensity is insane and grabs you in a chokehold!! The psychological mind games were intense as well. This is definitely dark romance fairytale retelling, with a posessive, morally black MMC. The sexual tension is so hot! A few scenes were repetitive, but honestly they were good so I was alright with it. Drama, angst, suspense, captive and erotic romance, power, control, and lots of psychological tension! Very intrigued to read the next book!.

Hook will do what it takes to break Thalia. Thalia is torn between letting him and holding on to herself.
This is not your normal retelling of Hook and Tinkerbell. He’s obsessive, manipulative, and overall irredeemable. The author is clear in the warning she gives at the beginning. Between that and the triggers, you have been fairly warned of what’s to come!
I really enjoy the dark and unapologetically devious nature of Calia Quinn’s work. The only downside is that some scenes do feel repetitive and a bit disjointed. Otherwise can’t wait for more villains!.

Never Yours is a dark retelling of Tinkerbell and Hook. This is a very dark story where the Calia Quinn has left warnings of how dark it is in several places.
Given the warnings, I actually expected it to be darker than what it was. This would be a good starting point if you were interested in trying out something that is on the pitch black side, but not 100% there.
Hook is certainly not a good person, and Tahlia never fully loses her fight. Even as Stockholm sets in, she continues to fight. I love that she did not just given up and accept it and all the destruction she caused.

Pitch Black Fairytale Retelling – this book absolutely was amazing but a hefty read at almost 400 pages. It was twisted and completely unhinged. Make sure you read the trigger warnings but also know in advance that there is no redemption in this book and there are some really intense scenes. This is not a gray or dark romance - - this book is pitch black. If that is your cup of tea than please read on and grab this book as Calia Quinn did an amazing job giving Hook & Tahlia (Tink’s) POV and all the little psychological manipulations that he puts her through. The spice was perfection and I loved the ending. Can’t wait for the next book I the Nevernight Girls series!

Hook and Tinkerbell dark retelling I knew I needed when I saw it was by the talented Quinn. This is the first book in the Nevernight Girls series, and it did not disappoint. Tahlia and Hook are on another plane in this tale, discard what you remember from the fairytales you read as a kid, this one will make you salivate for the villain! Pitch black in the most sinful way, so mind those trigger warnings if you need to. This is not your freshman intro to dark romance! It’s obsessive, addictive, and psychologically twisted with a heaping of spice.

I received this as an art review and I was extremely excited about it. I love anything Disney, but this had a darker side. This is not a fairytale ending and by far darker than I expected. This book dives deep into lust, sacrifice, ownership and possessiveness. This includes stalking and torture to his obsession. I was all about the book until unfortunately, the last five or six chapters. The book had me intrigued from the start then at the end I felt the book was stuck on repeat. Dark retelling is a very apt description of this book. I like the delve into the psyche of both Hook and Talia. It was interesting to see the motivations and thought process of both of them. While I loved the psychological games that were played, it did start to feel a little repetitive. Some scenes just felt like they were on repeat. This is a definite case of watch your triggers and make sure you’re in the correct headspace before jumping into the violence (mental and physical) that is this book.

Um, what can I say? This story was a bit strange because it was not your typical dark romance at all. It was all about control and prediction. It is a retelling with Hook and "Tinkerbell" and how she wants to sort of kinda want to be supported. Like I didn't understand her role in the beginning and the flow was just off to me personally.

My my my... fairytale retelling at its darkened finest. Definitely that pitch color and delicious. The start dragged a little for me but I get setting the stage.

The only thing about this beautiful darkness and the true fairytale are the names.

Definitely dark and twisted. This book was a deliciously dark retake on Tinkerbell and Hook. And I was definitely hooked. This grabbed me into its dark world and told me to sit down and stay for awhile. And I did. This is a very different take and I loved it. Loved the twists and turns. The obsession and desire. The sinister things that took place. I didn’t want this one to end. It was really good. Loved everything about it.

Hook and Thalia's (Tink) story is dark. It is not a quick and quiet read, it screams possession, obsession and control. It is morally black, with no attempts made for redemption or soften in any way. With this said, it is a fab read if you like darkness and blackness, are prepared to shut out everyone and everything else till you reach that last page, and like things broken.

First thing is first, please read the trigger warnings. This is a black romance, there is nothing grey about it! I have mixed feelings about this book.It's not necessarily the content , but I felt like there was a lot of repetitive statements about feelings. I will say that this book definitely could have benefited from a few less pages. I think the characters were lovely. This is something else, it is dark and filthy.

This was a lovely novel — it was dark and a great retelling on tinker bell!
But… it seemed to get repetitive throughout, saying some things over and over and I feel it could have been shortened. I definitely loved parts of it thooo!

You always wonder how the story would have been different, now you can read it. This was such a captivating story and it pulled me in. I kept turning pages without realizing I was almost done. I love these twisted tales and they make the fantasy come to life. I loved this so much and I highly recommend.

Move over Pan and Wendy Tink and Hook have stole the show! This dark horror erotica will have you hooked (pun intended) your mind will be spun ubwound and never the same again. Tink maybe strong but Hooks a man who breaks everyone he wants.

Calling this book a Dark Romance is false advertising. This book is absolutely Pitch Black and I loved every filthy word of it. This is a raw, vicious, and utterly toxic masterpiece that Quinn has created that will stick with you for days.

This is a pitch black romance. Where love and hate co-exist, where fear and want intermingle. This book is not for the faint of heart. There is no HEA. The author paints this story with elegant prose, slowly leading you into the dark.

I have been obsessed with Hook retelling since Once Upon A Time. This one is...a little weird? Not bad. I just wasn't expecting anything like this. I will probably read again.
