When Victoria Winslow awakens from a coma in a New York City hospital, she has no memory of who she is, how she got there, or why the handsome movie star, Jack Post, sleeps by her bedside. She certainly doesn’t remember getting cosmetic surgery, or the accident that scarred her once beautiful face. A private investigator later questions if any of her resurfaced memories—from her love of skydiving to even her name—are real. Once faced with the facts of her old life, she’s horrified by what she finds. “Forgetting Me” follows Vickie through an intimate journey of self-discovery as memory loss forces the harrowing is she more than the sum of her experiences? With a courageous heart and unshakable will, Vickie confronts the echoes of her past so she can embrace an unforgettable future.

Meet Anne Strafford, the enigmatic protagonist of "Forgetting Me," who is trapped in a situation she doesn’t understand. Anne wakes up in a hospital bed with no memory after a car accident. Yet, there is this handsome man that sits by her bed. Readers will be interested to learn about the movie star who put her into this situation and how their relationship evolves. The man is filled with guilt, but as he struggles on redeeming himself, he is not sure that he is about getting into a journey of romance that will change him in many ways. Tirado-Ryen creates a lovable character in Anne, making her utterly vulneravle. The fact that she can’t remember things about her past makes her even more compelling Her journey of re-discovering herself is filled with surprises and the author infuses that journey with fascinating details. As readers learn about Anne's forgotten past, they are drawn to her resilience and determination to mend the shattered pieces of her life. Anne's likability stems from her relatable flaws and the genuine emotions that Tirado-Ryen infuses into her character, making her a protagonist worth investing in. This was a page-turner for me.
In Katherine Tirado-Ryen's "Forgetting Me," readers meet Anne Strafford, a character who, after suffering an accident, wakes up with no memory in a hospital bed. At first it is heart-wrenching to watch her deal with painful emotions. But then there is a handsome man by her, a man she doesn’t know. You will want to know who this handsome stranger is as much as Anne does and what his motives are. This novel is psychologically rich with characters that are believable. The idea of amnesia romance was lovely and I wanted to know how the story turns out. Luckily, Tirado-Ryen turned out to be a great storyteller with a wonderful gift for plot and character. The emotional resonance of Anne's character is palpable, intensifying her quest for self-understanding. Jack Post is a character that creates an enticing backdrop for Anne's exploration of her past. The evocative writing drew readers into Anne's world as she struggled with resurfacing memories and questions about her own identity. The central question, "What truly defines us?" echoes throughout the narrative, prompting introspection and reflection. This is a novel that I recommend to anyone looking for romance with a twist. It is balanced, deft, and ingeniously plotted.
Gosh I really didn’t know where this story was going to land! I certainly didn’t expect anything that happened once she returned to her real home, husband, sister and friends. Gripping story and very well written
“Forgetting Me” is probably my favorite of Tirado-Ryen’s books. It manages to be quite thought provoking, while still moving at a fast, easy pace. The book brings up some interesting questions: What would you see if you looked at your life from an outsider’s perspective? Would you be proud of what you see? Or would it cause you to change? The audience gets a unique perspective because we’re learning about this character as she’s learning about herself. I felt the same way about the protagonist as I do about Jane Austen’s Emma—I’m never entirely sure if I like her as a person, yet I’m rooting for her until the very end. “Forgetting Me” was a great read and one I’m sure I’ll revisit in the future.
I could not put this book down. It was a very thought-provoking story of someone struggling to remember--and forget. I appreciated the emphasis on people being able to change and be better than they once were. However, I gave it only 4 stars because of the number of times I needed to skip multiple paragraphs due to descriptions containing TMI (IMO). Other than that, it was a very heartfelt read, and the author successfully made the characters real.
This was a most unusual story, one that kept me awake thinking about the consequences of her actions. How could a person be so consumed with immoral actions during her marriage. But things do change, she had rude awakening and the story moved towards a better happening.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is well written and kept me engrossed until the end. If you want a book that you can't put down, then this is the book !! This is my second book by this author. I will definitely read her other books!!
What a rollercoaster ride. Victoria being hit by a car. The recovery and convalescence with her guardian Angel & her amnesia makes this an interesting tale. I like Victoria/Anne despite her past. This is a redemption story that you have to read to believe.
This is a very well written, thoughtful story about redemption. Who doesn't want a start over in life, or fix a past mistake? I love this novel, my first by this author but not the last.
This book took me all over the place! At one point I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to finish it, but I kept going, it turned around, and I really liked the way it ended. Kind of snuck up on me, in a good way, loved the ending.
A fast-paced, easy read. I really enjoyed the storyline. Who wouldn't want to have a do over in life to fix a past mistake?? This is the first book I have read by this author, but it's definitely not my last.
Imagine waking up in a hospital bed and not knowing who you are. For Victoria Winslow, that's precisely the nightmare she faces. With little to no memory of what happened before getting hit by a handsome actor, Victoria has to piece her previous life back together. Once she finds out her real name, Anna Strafford, she is shocked by what she finds out about herself.
Anne discovers the questionable moral decisions that have left her relationship with her sister almost beyond repair and her marriage in tatters. Will she be able to change who she is and fix what is broken?
I like the idea of a morally defunct protagonist for which the reader can still root for. The author does an excellent job of capturing and holding the reader's interest. I was engrossed enough in the story to finish it in two days.
It was OK book. I liked the beginning of the book best. The main character was in an accident and didn't rember who she was or anyone else in her life. Then it seemed like she was living a double life.
Daytona Beach Shores FL Community Center Book Club member Lynne says,,,A well written book. Found the amnesia cases fascinating and the steps Anna took to correct her past actions intriguing. Definitely a book anyone interested in psychology will enjoy reading. #booktribbc
I’m not going to say this was a Book I couldn’t stop reading it wasn’t. It’s a good book. It earned its 5 Stars, but it’s low key. And it’s very difficult for me to review. I found it interesting and that’s about it.
