I love the idea and execution of this series. The quality is often extremely high, and I rarely skip. It’s interesting to get a sort of pulse check of what is being published / interesting to those who publish / judge every year. And I will continue to go back through the archives if I can get my hands on them.
A great reminder that brilliant work can come from anywhere. That being said, it could now be anywhere - as I have lost it. So will come back if I find it again.

Picked this up at the Brick Lane Bookshop while I was in London and have been slowly making my way through it and savoring every short story. All of the short stories were so unique and memorable. My favourites: “Little Venice” by Alice Zoo (fascinating look into the world of a west London nanny) and “Matched” by Rachel Lindo (very dystopian and disturbing).

a delicious mix of stories!

on first read, favourites were 'fall, snow, blossom, muse' by eloise poole and 'matched' by rachel lindo, but i also found myself pretty transfixed by 'the exhumations of bourgnet stogner', 'tooth woman' and 'the damp inspector'

Delightfully varied selection of stories, vibrant and filled with life. A nice read for a variety of emotions and characters alike.
