Skyler Dunlop is the independent middle daughter of Laird Hamish MacLennon and a reknown healer. When she gets a missive on a stormy night that her cousin is sick with a raging fever, she sneaks out to go to her. Unfortunately, Zander Harrison, Laird of Clan Strathcairn, intercepts her and forcefully takes her to his keep hoping that she can heal his ailing six year old son Grayson. Now you have a feisty healer determined to escape to help her cousin and an equally stubborn Laird determined to retain her to care for his son…a recipe for chaos and conflict. Grayson is an adorable child obsessed with birds, and takes to Skyler quickly. What follows is a race against time filled with multiple kinds of tension. This story has wonderful characters (Mason is my favorite), witty banter, steamy kisses, a mystery to solve, someone returning from the dead, and one giant betrayal. There is action, danger, guilt and frustration before Skyler and Zander come to terms with their feelings for each other. As always with this author, it is well written, exciting and well worth your time!

Awesome Highland book with two fierce main characters.
A fierce Laird seeking a healer to save his son finds a healer on the road. Skylar is on her way to heal her cousin and that is the only thing on her mind. These two are strong minds and determination. Now add poisoning the Laird's son, a battle to save his son and the new healer. Awesome story that will pull you in to their lives.

He's a Laird in need of a healer and will stop at nothing to get what he needs for his son. Skylar was on her way to her cousin when she is captured by the Laird Zander. Two strong wills are well matched, and the outcome can only lead to one thing. Will Zander lose his heart to Skylar before she gains her freedom. This thrilling story is filled with dramatic twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.

Skylar was on her way to treat a cousin that was ill when she was kidnapped by Zander and taken to his castle to tend his son Greyson. He had been sick for quite a while and she had a reputation in the Highlands of healing everyone she came in contact with. This is a story of how two people can be difficult and fun at the same time but still manage to do everything that is expected of them. This is a great story!

What a delightful book with characters that keep you interested in their lives. Zander, and Skylar are thrown together in order to heal his son Grayson. A mysterious illness keeps them searching for a cure….turn of events and a dedicated Skylar find evidence of a conspiracy. Highly recommend this intriguing book.

A healer to heal.
Zander and Skylar’s story is captivating from start to finish! It has excitement, danger, a stubborn and willful heroine, a strong and powerful hero, and a storyline filled with surprises. I love when there is a mystery to solve or figure out as this does. A wonderful read!

A Great Love Story
This is the second time that I have read this book. It is even better the second time around. Interesting. Captivating. A few twists and turns. Love scenes are not graphic (which I like).

The Healer!
Skylar and Zander were awesome together. The story was pretty fast pace and entertaining. Totally loved Skylar's character feisty and stubborn! Would recommend this book to anyone, can't wait to read the next book!
