CJ Bishops Phoenix Club and Cowboy Gangster series comes with alot of trigger warnings as her books depicts sexual abuse of mostly Gay men but also in some cases children. This series are one that aren't for everyone becuse of amount of violence and suffering some of the characters go trough to get their happy ending.

That beeing said, I been reading CJ Bishops books since my early 20s, her books were some of the first Gay Romance series I ever read and also she have deffently at this point traumatized me more than once with the dark story telling of the series. Cole's story is no diffeent as it goes down on a way deeper level of dark and grotesque telling of his story, the ending were a shocking one for sure. Cole have been hiding a big part of his life from his Phoenix and Gangster family, one he keept secret he were scared would destroy his relationship with his husband Gabriel that for the last 5 years have been his lifeline and home. Cole have changed his name and almost made a whole new identity to hide his past where he had to run away from his father the serial killer the Mangler that took his childhood best friend and lover from him and tried to turn Cole himself into a cold blood killer by forcing him to do some grotesque things. Cole himself never wanted any of that so he ran away after he attempted to kill his dad but he realized ofcourse aren't dead when Abel, Maddy and Savannah one day out of the blue dissapears and Cole are contacted by his dad and is forced down a dark road of what if, and will this shatter our Phoenix family once and for all, since all of them have been traumatized by past events similar to this one in the past books something some of them still struggle with.

Specially Abel and Angel that have had vastly traumatized backgrounds of abuse and now are faced with the people they swore to protect once again are in danger it was not easy to read for me since both Angel and Abel are some of my fav. Characters of the series alongside Clint and Axel.

But my toughts are CJ did it again giving one deeply engrossed story that are so horrifying to read but with such a surprising ending that I can't wait to see what she has in store next time. There are a big reason why I have a book shelve with almost all the books that's out in paperback so far, becuse CJ Bishop just writes so good stories that always put the reader on the edge of their seat with high angst and horror but also some of the beautiful love stories packed into one long runing series. Coles series are 5 books and over 700 pages long that can be bought separately but I would recommend the bundle with all in one way easier to keep track of since this series are long and have so many books by now, each of the characters getting their story told one by one, everyone got a sad and heartbreaking story and are need of love and the support to make it past the dark times in their life's.
