Ocean's Lost Octopus

Rate this book
Ocean lost his octopus and found his new daddy.

To look at me, you’d think I was a daddy. I wear my custom suits to my corner office, where I’m vice president of one of the largest companies in the city. I’m the boss, the one telling everyone else what to do and when. I’m great at what I do and love my job.

But when I go home, I long for nothing more than to put on some footie jams, snuggle my octopus stuffie, and let someone else take care of me. I had a daddy once, and it was wonderful…until he decided he wanted to settle down and have a family, one that would include a stay-at-home spouse. In other words, someone who wasn’t me.

Three years later, he is married with kids and the stay-at-home husband he always wanted, and me? I’m alone in my fancy apartment every night, including the one a faulty fire alarm has me evacuating, my octopus tucked in my pocket.

Only when we get the all-clear and I go back upstairs, I discover my octopus is missing.

Ocean’s Lost Octopus is a sweet age play romance featuring a little who loses his treasured octopus and finds his new daddy, a daddy who is ready for a little of his own, snuggles, cuddles, stuffies, footie jams, a memorable day at Chained, an adorable snail, new beginnings, some old friends, true love, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like your romances on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier, check out Ocean’s Lost Octopus by USA Today Bestselling author Della Cain and her bestie and frequent partner in crime, Kaytea Kat.

fast, cute little addition to the Found by Daddy series. I love that these are so quick and easy to read when you just want something cute. I also love that you can pretty much read these in any order you want and not have to worry about screwing up any of the other books in the series. Ocean and his worries were sweet and i love that he found a Daddy to love him.

Ocean is not a Daddy. He is a very successful businessman, VP of a huge company. He wears custom suits to work, lives in an exclusive penthouse apartment and when he gets home at night he loves to change into his footie pyjamas and snuggle with Tennie, the stuffed octopus he has had since he was a child. By day he may be the boss, he may be the one telling others what to do but by night he is a Little. His biggest concern however is not having a Daddy to care for him. The man he once had decided Ocean wasn't the one.

Duncan is the general manager of a very nice restaurant in the city. He is also a member of Chained and about to move apartments. The rent increases on his are too expensive but fortune steps in. Duncan's pianist brother is going on tour for a year and is more than happy to let Duncan use his apartment, and look after his pet snail of course! This is great news for Duncan who can now have a little time to relax and work out where to live.

The night Duncan moves in, the same night that Ocean is cuddling with Tennie after a stressful day, there is a fire alarm and the apartment building has to be evacuated. On his way down the stairs Duncan notices someone has dropped a stuffed octopus, he picks it up and hopes he can reunite it with its owner. When Ocean sees Tennie in Duncan's hands not only is he relieved but he is so happy he thanks 'Daddy.' The connections continue after the pair meet again at Chained and from there something grows between them.

There are many chances in life, ones that we are given for a reason even if we don't always know what that reason may be. Ocean and Duncan are both given chances, fate is working in their favour and bringing them together, now they simply need to get to know one another and embrace the developments. Della Cain has once more delivered a charming 'Found By Daddy' novella and this one comes with its own clever twists. The story encourages readers to put aside their preconceptions and embrace life, love and themselves for who they are. When Ocean and Duncan allow themselves to do this we know they are going to be happy, so long as they keep the communication open. Discover the wonderful world of Found By Daddy. Meet two wonderful new characters. Embrace the knowledge that we can all be true to ourselves.

This is book 15 in the Found by Daddy series by this dynamic duo. It is a standalone read as each book features a different couple. This is the story of Ocean and Duncan. Ocean is a successful businessman. He is the VP of his division and lives in an exclusive Penthouse apartment. He is a strong leader but he is also a little. He snuggles with his Octopus stuffie Tennie each night. He doesn't think that he will ever have a daddy as his former daddy was intimidated by his business success and left him. He despairs that no daddy will support him working as hard as he does. Duncan is the general manager of a very nice restaurant in the city. He has moved into Ocean's building while apartment sitting for his brother. He is a daddy but is currently working too much to find a little. The two meet when the buildings fire alarm goes off. On his was out of the building, Duncan finds Tennie and brings him down with him. Ocean, realizing that he lost Tennie, spots his Octopus in the hands of a stranger just as he was starting to panic over losing him. This is their story. I enjoyed that the two of them started a romantic relationship first and then moved in the daddy/ little relationship. The book is very well written and easy to read. The blurb state that the book is a romance on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier; and it is a perfect description. I really enjoyed this book.

These stories are so sweet, even though they are basically “little loses a favorite something, a Daddy finds it, little and Daddy connect and live happily ever after”, each is so unique, I get drawn into the story, waiting for what comes next.
In this book, Ocean (what an unusual name, I wish we had learned how he got it), has been without a Daddy for three years. He wants one again, but is a bit leery after his last one, and he’s also so busy with his work life as a CEO, he’s not sure if one would fit in his life again. Until the night the fire alarm goes off, he loses his octopus stuffy named Tennie, and finds that a neighbor has found it and is happy to give it back. There is an attraction between them, they meet accidentally again one night at Chained and Donovan (the neighbor/Daddy) asks Ocean on a date. Things progress from there as they get to know each other to see if they are compatible as “big”, then move on to see how they work as Daddy/little. Unsurprisingly, they work out as both little and big, and are soon on their way to their HEA. No real surprises, but the fun is in the details, as always.
For a low angst, light-hearted, short, sweet tale that is a delight to read, this book and series can’t be beat. If you have a quiet hour or two, sit back, put your feet up, and get lost in Ocean’s world as he finds his forever Daddy.

Ocean appears every inch the powerful executive — suited up, commanding a corner office, and thriving as a vice president. Yet beneath the polished exterior, he longs for comfort, care, and the tender dynamic of being a little with a daddy. His treasured octopus stuffie is his nightly companion, a reminder of the love he once had but lost when his former daddy chose a more conventional family life. Three years later, Ocean is still alone, until a faulty fire alarm forces him out of his apartment — and he discovers his beloved octopus missing. This small loss becomes the catalyst for something much bigger: the arrival of Duncan, a man ready to be the daddy Ocean has been yearning for. Their story unfolds with snuggles, cuddles, footie pajamas, playful adventures, and the promise of true love. What begins with the loss of a stuffie transforms into a journey of healing, new beginnings, and the rediscovery of intimacy and belonging.

I enjoyed this story about how losing something small can lead to finding something profound — the love, care, and true daddy Ocean has always needed. I loved how the story explored how identity is multifaceted — strength in public can coexist with vulnerability in private, and both are equally valid. I also loved that belonging can be found not in status or success, but in relationships that honour our most authentic selves. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ocean’s Lost Octopus is the sweetest, softest, most heart-squeezing book I’ve read in the Found by Daddy world, and I adored every second of it. Ocean completely stole my heart. On the outside he’s polished, powerful, and put-together—the VP in custom suits who looks every inch the Daddy. But inside, he’s a gentle little who just wants comfort, safety, and someone who sees all of him. His loneliness felt so real that when he lost his beloved octopus stuffie, my heart dropped with his.

And then comes Duncan—the Daddy Ocean didn’t know he’d been waiting for. Their connection is instant but beautifully tender, built on trust, communication, and the most soul-deep understanding. Duncan doesn’t try to change Ocean. He chooses him—his soft heart, his need for cuddles, his vulnerability, and his strength. Every moment between them felt like a warm blanket, especially their time at Chained and the adorable addition of a very memorable little snail.

If you love your romances cozy, affirming, and full of gentle Daddy/little dynamics—like a Hallmark movie with a deliciously kinky twist—this book will absolutely melt you. Ocean and Duncan are pure magic together.

This book is fantastic! Another Little finds his perfect Daddy when he loses something dear to him. This time it’s Ocean and he loses his stuffed octopus, Tennie, when the fire alarm goes off in his building. Duncan is staying in his brother’s apartment while he’s off on a world tour and he will find Tennie while coming down the stairs. Their first meeting is a bit awkward as far as Ocean is concerned but it isn’t long until the two are spending time together and getting closer. Ocean tries to rush but Duncan gets him to slow down and let them get to know each other better before calling him Daddy. It turns out to be the perfect idea. When they finally get some true Daddy/Little time, they find they are perfect for each other. When Duncan’s brother returns home earlier than expected and Duncan needs a new place to live, Ocean opens his home and his heart and is rewarded with his forever Daddy right where he wants him most.

Ocean has a high-pressure job that most daddies find intimidating. He's been single since his last daddy left him because he didn't want to be a stay-at-home husband and father. During a false fire alarm, he lost his stuffed octopus. Duncan was subletting his brother's apartment while he was traveling for work. When he found the stuffy on the stairs, he picked it up and was holding onto it. When Ocean saw him holding it, he approached him and got it back. He was immediately attracted to him but was embarrassed about the situation. When they later ran into each other again, Ocean decided to approach him and speak to him. When Duncan asked for his phone number, Ocean gave him his card and worried that he would never hear from him because he might be intimidated by his job title. All it took was one text message, and they were off and running, building an amazing relationship.

Get comfortable you won’t put it down until we find the lost octopus. Ocean needs a dad he works a high-pressure job that most daddies find very intimidating to be single since his last daddy walked away because he didn’t want to be a stay-at-home husband/father and now a false fire alarm he lost his best friend stuffie octopus. Duncan had been subletting his brother’s apartment while traveling when he found octopus on the stairs picking it up to hold on to it knowing it belonged to someone and they were missing their friends. So, when he was approached by Ocean who saw him holding his octopus he asked from his best friend back the magnetic pull was instant for them but so was the embarrassment but he was willing to suffer it for his stuffie although, it didn’t last long after Duncan asked for his phone number but will he call considering most daddies are intimated by his job, will he prove he is the daddy he needs, and will they find happiness?

"There was something so reassuring about him that I was able to be myself without hemming and hawing over my every move."

This is book 15 in the series, Found By Daddy, written by Della Cain and Kaytea Kat. When I saw this one on Booksprout I snapped it up. This is such a fun series and they're usually around 100 pages. This is the 8th story I've read in this 15 story series. I need to get on the ball and read the rest.

This particular addition to the series seems more serious than the other books I've read. Most of the time Ocean, the little in this story, was big. Duncan, the daddy, was pretty laid back and didn't push Ocean. It was good but not my favorite!!!

A disillusioned little, social class differences, he's been wrong before, they're taking their time, a missing octopus, a fortuitous fire alarm

Ocean and Duncan, are a bit opposite and not just because Ocean is a little while Duncan is a Daddy. But they are opposite in their careers and salary but work wonderfully together. Though they are worried how the other will perceive them and how the others colleagues may see them. They realize they fit together perfectly though. I have read other books in this series, from these Authors and i love them. They are short yet sweet and have a bit of spice but don’t fully get into detail or often. So if you are looking for a sweet DDLB stories that are short and either a daddy or a little have their own story. While their background explains why they react and respond to their relationship, these books are for you to give it a try.

I'm a Found by Daddy fan and each book gets even sweeter and sweeter. This was one of my favs. I like that both guys are I believe around the same age...no age gap. Their dynamic is kind of unique whereas Ocean could be mistaken for the daddy role but ooooh noooo...Ocean is a little thru and thru and when he realized he lost his stuffie Tennie and saw who found it...Duncan...he was instantly drawn to the amazing man who could be his future daddy. Their romance journey was sweet with no miscommunication which I absolutely love. Loved their HEA.

I enjoyed this sweet daddy/little romance and can't wait to read more.

Ocean’s Lost Octopus is another sweet, comforting instalment in the Found by Daddy series, and it works perfectly as a standalone. Ocean and Duncan are instantly endearing—Ocean with his powerful, polished exterior and tender little side, and Duncan as the hardworking daddy who finds exactly what he’s been missing when he picks up a lost octopus stuffie during a fire alarm.

I loved how their relationship began with gentle romance before easing naturally into a daddy/little dynamic. The story is warm, easy to read, and as the blurb says has that Hallmark-style sweetness with just the right touch of kink. A lovely, feel-good read that left me smiling.

This was a really sweet book. I loved Ocean and Duncan together. I loved that Ocean is a sweet little in his off hours of being an important executive. Ocean has had problems finding a Daddy that is ok with him still working and his work. Duncan hasn't been looking for a little but he can't help but feel the pull to Ocean after saving Tennie. These two start off trying to take things slowly and really grow their connection. These two are sweet and perfect for each other and I am glad that these two get a really HEA.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and I really enjoyed this story of Ocean and Duncan. I love the whole dynamic between these couple where Ocean is a successful vet VP of a company and Duncan is the general manager of a restaurant. These two characters, meet when there’s a fire alarm in the apartment building and Ocean loses his octopus stuffy, and when he sees it in Duncans hands, it’s the start of a beautiful relationship. I love the whole Daddy/Little dynamic between this couple and was happy when they had their HEA.

I'm obsessed with Cain's books! This one has a highly successful Little, Ocean, who has struggled to find just the right Daddy - one who will accept his competence as well as his needs. Duncan was an amazing Daddy, and he lived the kind of life he encouraged. Ocean seemed to have so many insecurities, perhaps stemming from bad previous experiences, or lack of early support. Illnadmit I got agitated with how long it took him to let his guard down with Duncan (REALLY let it down). In the end, it was worth it.

I was gifted a copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

Sweet story! Ocean, is a boss. He's VP in the largest company in the city and carries great responsibility. He's also a little, although he doesn't get much time littling. He is disappointed by an ex who doesn't know Ocean at all. Duncan, is apartment sitting for his brother. During a fire alarm, he finds Ocean's octopus and they have a conection. There are a few challenges before they can explore their Daddy and Little sides. The flow and challenges of getting to know each other is fun. Nice Daddy Little dynamic with career and personal power challenges. Nicely thought out. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ocean is an important businessman who happens to be a Little after work. During a fire alarm, he meets Duncan who rescues Ocean's stuffie Tennie and realizes Ocean needs a Daddy I liked how the worries both had about their different stations in life disappeared. I also liked how they eased their way in as boyfriends first before the Daddy/Boy part, took the time to see if they were compatible in the hard parts of life like jobs and physical relationships. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

A sweet and speedy age play romance.
Ocean is very successful based on his career, but not so much in his personal life. He's a little without a daddy. He once had a daddy, but was put aside for a stay-at-home husband.
After a fire alarm in his building he meets a man he's never seen before, a daddy.
They meet again, goes on a date and at last Ocean has met the one man, a daddy, perfect for him.
Delightful, sweet, oposite attract.

Ocean's Lost Octopus is about Ocean, who is vice president and looks like a daddy, so everybody thinks he is a daddy, but they are wrong, and Duncan who just has been moving his brothers apartment. They have a fire alarms, and when Ocean evacuates, he lost his favorite a plushie, luckily Duncan founds it.

This was a very good and quick read. I liked how they get their HEA.

This is exactly what I want when I’m craving a good DDlb story. Absolute perfection for a novella.

This is a beautiful story of a little who is powerful and dominant at work and needs a soft daddy at home to let go. It was a nice change to see Ocean and Duncan develop a romantic relationship first before delving into their DDlb roles.

Thank you to Decadent Publishing, Booksprout and Della Cain for the advanced copy. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Yes!!!!

I love these books so much. I eagerly await each one. They are the sweet reads that I need sometimes. Each one is different. I love how we got to know both of them well before we got them in their Daddy little mode. It gave Duncan time to show he wasn’t intimidated by Ocean’s position or finances and Ocean learned to trust that Duncan wasn’t going to change his mind on what he wanted. I hope Barnes finds a good Daddy.

I loved this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Ocean and Duncan. They were both such sweet guys and I really liked how they met- in spite of how aggravating it was waiting outside at night because of [another] false fire alarm. Poor Ocean was lonely and I thought he and Duncan made a great match. 5 stars

Ocean’s Lost Octopus

Della and Kaytea don’t disappoint with the 15th book in the found by daddy series. Ocean just wants someone to love and take care of him. A chance meeting after a fire alarm starts it all.
