He’s cursed to break everything he touches… except her heart.
Construction site supervisor Calvin has come to the mountains to have a well-earned break and let his wyvern off the leash. He’s been looking forward to getting back to nature… but when a mysterious woman in the woods curses him, those plans are out the window.
Or they would be, if he could open the window. Because now his car won’t work. Or his phone. Or anything else electronic he touches.
Oh, well. Things could be worse. At least it’s not like it’s a sweltering summer’s day, and he just broke the air conditioner of the spirited, beautiful woman who just happens to be his fated mate…
Pre-school teacher and single mom Diana is spending her summer raising funds for a new playground for the school. It’s thirsty work, selling lemonade in the heat… but she discovers an entirely different kind of thirst when she serves her final customer.
Grade-A certified hottie? Check. Fun to hang out with? Check. Her son likes him? Big ol’ check.
But the way he always finds excuses to avoid getting in her car makes her think there’s more to him than meets her (very appreciative) eye…
Return to the cute, quirky town of Girdwood Springs with Wyverns and Waffles, a sweet shifter romance and the seventh in the Shifters and Sweets series. It’s got warmth, humor, a single mother heroine doing her best, a heartthrob hero – and a guaranteed HEA!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
I loved this sweet fated mates, single mom romance with a side of curses. It had the perfect balance of humor, love, real life issues, mystery, and low angst. Reading this story just made me happy the entire time. It was low angst and any communication issues were resolved almost immediately with communication between the MCs. Diana is a single mom and a preschool teacher in small town Girdwood Springs. Calvin is a construction site foreman and a wyvern sifter. He traveled to the mountains to allow his wyvern the freedom to fly. Unfortunately he stumbled on a spring in the woods and managed to get cursed in the process causing all his electronics to fail. Calvin meets Diana when he walks into town to get his car towed. As soon as Calvin touches Diana he recognizes that she’s his mate. Now he just needs to rid himself of a curse, explain shifters to his mate, and move to town permanently. This heartwarming and funny story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, good world building, and a captivating storyline. I love this series and this quirky town. 4.5 stars.
Calvin is hiking in the woods when he comes upon a spring and gets cursed. The next thing he knows, he meets his mate Diana, her son Ash and their dog Bella. But the curse is playing havoc with his life. If he wants to create a good life with his mate and family, he needs to get it lifted. Can he figure this out?
The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has some steamy suggestions but no details. The characters are vivid and engaging. This is a super story with appealing characters and interesting twists. I would recommend reading the series in order. That way you can get the most from this story. Enjoy!
Wyvern shifter Calvin and preschool teacher Diana are the latest mates in Girdwood Springs. Their story begins when Calvin meets a crabby sprite who curses him for using her pond without her permission. Diana offers him cool lemonade. He looks in her eyes and knows...she's his mate. With the help of other Girdwood Springs shifters, Calvin and Diana search for a way to break the curse. I love shifter books written by Zoe Chant. This series is one of my favorites. Enjoy!
I like that the boy in the story is not a typical child. I also like that he is accepted by the kids in the town despite his differences. He is included in plans with the other children. So many people exclude children who are shy and not typical as the rest of the kids. Everyone should be included if possible or at least have an offer extended. Makes a world of difference.
Wyverns and Waffles (Shifters and Sweets Book 7) by Zoe Chant. Wyvern shifter Calvin is on holiday when finds a pool and stops to dip his feet in when a sprite appears. He can’t answer her riddle so she curses him. He finds out that everything electrical he touches stops working. When he gets to Girdwood Springs he meets his mate Diana and together with her son gets the curse lifted.

Another great book in the Shifters and Sweets series. This time was have Diana and Calvin. After Calvin accidentally gets himself cursed by a sprite he goes to Girwood Springs to find help to free himself. This is where he meets his mate, her son Ash and Their dog, Bella. I love that the story has the perfect mixture of romance and comedy. I love that we see characters from the previous stories in the series. I can't wait to read more.
Such a sweet story and I loved hearing about the characters from previous stories from Girdwood Springs. Normally I like my stories with some more spice, but all of these books have left me with such a happy feeling that is much needed sometimes. Looking forward to more stories from this magical town!
Interesting premise for this story. Calvin gets cursed by his accidental meeting with a sprite. He finds his mate, Diana, at that time. This is a sweet romance with no graphic sex scenes.
I like this particular series. This town is beginning to fill up with shifters! I am looking forward to the next installment.
Yes, this fluffy shifter romance felt pretty much like more of the same as the rest of Shifter Sweets series... but look, it's a known quantity, it doesn't spike my anxiety at night, and there were some cute moments in there.
Is it my favourite Zoe series? No, but it helps me relax enough to sleep at night, so I'll take the win.
A short but sweet version if a usual Zoe Chant book. Delightful and fun. Great to meet old characters again. I hope to see many more additions to this lovely town and its fantastical denizens
Short and sweet if a bit slow. Funny having a mean sprite when the prior one was quite entertaining and charming. The riddle was easy and I couldn’t understand why Calvin didn’t get it, but I guess Ash needed to be the solver. Nice to have the others make appearances. Read through KU.
Calvin's story finding his mate Diana was a fun read. Getting cursed by a different Sprite from previous book, was amusing with him trying to work around it. Overall it was a good read and characters nice to read about.
Very enjoyable, loved the curse in this one very creative. I got the answer immediately and what would happen after but in this case it was just fun. Sweet HEA.
Who would have guessed going hiking and getting cursed would find your happily ever after. It was funny and cute. Definitely loved reading this series of books.
