This book was so much fun and an absolute treat for my ears. As a big fan of Harley Quinn x Joker, this was like a Harley x Joker inspired love story that I desperately needed in my life.
Also, the Voice Actors?! Are you kidding me?! Samantha Brentmoor and Jacob Morgan were i n c r e d i b l e.
I had such a great time with both Grayson and London. I am now torn between waiting for the release of the Audio, Born, Madly, or just proceeding with my eyes to the conclusion in book two.
Duet narration: Samantha Brentmoor and Jacob Morgan
I originally read this back in 2022 and with the audio releasing I had to reread. I first heard Samantha and Jacob preforming as London and Grayson in Cruel Malady so I knew they would be perfection in Born, Darkly and it didn’t disappoint!
I loved this even more the second time around both narrators brought so much personality and life to these characters. It is more psychological thriller with some elements of a non traditional romance. Don’t go in looking for a sweet love it’s not here. This is taboo falling for her patient and getting caught up in the game he is playing to bring out her secrets all while she is trying to learn about him and his twisted mind. Trisha always delivers on the twisted, addictive darkness making all her books so addictive.
It’s amazing what a re cast can do for an audiobook. Not saying the original wasn’t great but this just offers a new feel. Trisha writes with such poetry and depth in her stories. They truly live and breathe. You can tell she spends her time researching and understanding her subject matter to produce the best most informative and enriching stories. Samantha and Jacob were phenomenal bringing these characters to life and always perform with such care and precision to the authors words.
