Hmmm, i am not sure i am liking batman very much here, But maybe if we take the big picture into consideration he is vindicated in his actions? It seems the riddler after Future End made a deal or something in return for his help, where he managed to escape the police, but he wasn't doing anything bad anymore!
What Batman did though was trick the Riddler and hand him over to the Calender man, thus imprisoning him inside the arkham asylum!
I liked this story, it actually carried some significance, because it's a follow up to Future End 5 years later, and while i don't remember the story Scott Snyder wrote, they mentioned the blackout so it brought back some of it.
Yeah it's a dilemma but i ll try to ignore my righteousness annoyance with Batman this time, because who knows how many people died because of the riddler in future end, i can probably track down my reviews from back then, but i am about to sleep.

Yet another great futures end comic!!! This comic has batman and riddler team up, which I never thought would happen after zero year. This story continues a lot of previous batman stories such as zero year and a calendar man story they did in previous detective comic issues. But don't worry you don't have to read them to understand what's going on. One negative I will point out is that the art changes half way through the issue which was a little weird, especially since both draw batman very differently, but other than that it was a great issue and I highly recommend it!
I loved the entire book!! Batman and Riddler working together is very fun to see play out. They are both excellent detectives in their own way. I really enjoyed the moments between them. Although, I didn't expect the ending. I would've thought that Riddler would help Batman take out Calendar Man (AKA Julian Day). Instead, Batman had turned out to be tricking Riddler into going there. Since Julian's wife died due to the events of the Zero Year blackout, he blamed Riddler for it. Edward ended up getting dragged away by Julian's thugs and felt quite betrayed. I also would have thought that Edward would have had more of a reaction to Batman taking Julian's child away and putting him in a safer environment. Calendar Man was abusing his son after his wife died, which was Batman's reason for rescuing him. Since Edward's father abused him as a child (depending on what origin you read) it would have more sense to have Edward's reaction be a little bit more of something. But who knows, maybe Riddler did feel that Batman was more tolerable than he thought after finding that out. Overall, I enjoyed this comic. I will definitely read it again in the future!

This futures end issue was definitely interesting. Batman goes to the Riddler for assistance with getting on to Arkham Island to stop a scheme by the Calendar Man to shut down the Gotham power grid. However, Batman tricks the Riddler into turning himself over to the Calendar Man. It's the Riddler's fault that Calendar Man became who he is because of the original Gotham power grid failure that he caused during Zero Year. I loved how Batman allows the Riddler to be handed over to the Arkham inmates since it's where he belongs after escaping justice for so long.

I read the Futures End. It had it's ups and downs and I really hated the end. However, this is awesome. It's 5 years from now and Batman needs the Riddlers help to stop Calendar Man. This issue ties into Detective Comics Annual #3. It's a really smart tie in, too. It is not a must to read that first, but I strongly suggest it.
