Armed with revelations that could flip their world upside down, the Off the Books Task Force is diving into a case that’s as unpredictable as a coin toss. This time, they’ve assembled a full house, and it’s not a poker game.

Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis are still at the helm, but they’re taking a backseat, letting their two newest team members take the wheel. At Brantley’s behest, Atticus James and Archer Halligan are stepping up to the plate as team leaders, ready to swing for the fences.

With a to-do list that includes interrogating a mob boss and searching a former team member’s childhood residence, the task force is chasing leads across the great state of Texas. While new information keeps them moving, relationships are being put through the wringer, while new, unexpected ones are forming.

Can the team find more than smoke and mirrors to pin their hopes on, or will they end up in a tangled web of intrigue and unexpected alliances?

Ohh myyy gosh!! This book is so much better than 5 stars!! Soooo good!!! Might be my most fave of this whole series. The only negative. What’s up with Slade? He was such an unlikeable dick in this book. I sure hope the next book will be coming real soon! Not sure how I will manage to wait 😬

OMG…Smoke and Mirrors is so many emotions wrapped up in this delicious and wonderful book I don’t know where to start with this review! Nicole has done it again with this installment of Brantley Walker Off the Books, Five PLUS stars for this installment, I loved every page of this book!! Make sure you have read the book before this (Missing Pieces) as this is not a stand-alone book.

Smoke and Mirrors will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. The whole task force is involved in this mission, and it is personal to many of them. I won’t get into to a lot of detail in this review because I don’t want to give away any spoilers. If you are a fan of this series (and why wouldn’t you be ) you will be happy to know you will get a nice dose of Travis and Gage, I have loved these two since the Alluring Indulgence series and they are still hot, and complex has ever. Evan and Becs, if only they could get out of their own heads maybe there could really be something there with them, I can’t wait to see where Nicole takes these two in the future. Atticus and Archer, I absolutely love these two, they have been partnered up to lead this mission and let’s just say they are truly getting to know one another. Their relationship is involving in many different directions, and we can only wait and see where Nicole takes these two. JJ and Baz continue to be one of my favorite couples with their new additions of the twins (who finally get names). And of course, Brantley and Reese the true stars of this series, they are still everything to each other.

There will be a lot revealed in this book as well and a lot of unanswered questions. There is mystery and intrigue in every chapter and of course Nicole brings the heat with all these different couples. This book opens avenues to a couple of different stories, and I can’t wait to see where Nicole takes us next. All I can say is just read this book you will not be disappointed!

I was given this ARC for review and an honest opinion.

I have so much to say, and so little I can say without spoiling the whole book. I’ll start with the reminder that this is not a standalone story. If you haven’t read the previous books, go back and do so. You won’t regret it. If you’ve been along for the ride since the beginning of the Task Force, you know what the main course of this book is going to be. I’m going to start with the appetizers.

To my great joy, Evan and Becs are partnered up again. Not that they have figured things out, but I love the pining between these two, and it makes me smile when the author forces them to share the same space. And, of course, I love seeing JJ and Baz with their babies. The twins are given just enough time to, once again, make me smile, but not so much that it messes with the flow of the story.

I’ve mentioned in previous books how much the Atticus/Slade/Carson relationship intrigued me. We all know Slade is messing that up, and things come to a head in this book. I don’t know where any of these three will end up (I have a slight idea for Atticus, but even that is iffy), but it breaks my heart that insecurities and past issues get in their way so much. Someone needs to flat-out tell Slade to go to therapy! Atticus has, since he’s joined the Task Force, learned his worth and is not willing to compromise being valued and loved the way he deserves for crazy hot sex. I love that for him.

Which brings me to the main course. Atticus and Archer are partnered up by Brantley to investigate the information that was uncovered regarding a rogue FBI group and what they may have to do with Kylie’s death almost two years ago. It was great seeing this duo work together, and I loved the references to how well they meshed, and it being reminiscent of Brantley and Reese when they first started the Task Force. Atticus has really come into his own, and Archer is a fabulous addition to the team. This story pulls Travis and Gage into the mix a time or two and is, overall, a very emotional case for everyone. Things are high stakes, and nobody is sleeping on the job.

Although there is still a lot of work to do, there are also some issues that have been resolved. Happy endings, new beginnings, and more mysteries to uncover. There are a lot of twists and turns to this story, and there are many questions still unanswered. I’m here for it all.

Smoke and Mirrors brings us right back into the adrenaline-packed, emotionally charged world of the Sniper 1 Crew, and it wastes no time diving into the chaos. This installment continues to peel back the layers of each character, especially Slade, whose insecurities and jealousy start to spill over into his relationship with Atticus. Their tension adds a compelling emotional undercurrent to the entire book as they’re forced to confront the cracks forming beneath the surface.

The twins are finally home from the hospital, which should be a moment of relief, but peace is short-lived. Violet’s dad has gone missing—again—and the uncertainty around his disappearance adds another thread of suspense to an already stacked storyline.

Archer and Atticus take center stage on their newest case, one that quickly turns into an intricate web of half-truths, buried secrets, and shocking revelations. What starts as a lead soon evolves into a full-blown conspiracy that shakes the team to its core. The deeper they dig, the more distorted the picture becomes, and it truly feels like everyone is running in circles trying to separate facts from carefully constructed illusions. The title Smoke and Mirrors could not be more fitting—this case is messy, confusing, and absolutely gripping.

One of the most jaw-dropping possibilities raised in this book? That Kylie Walker might still be alive. That bombshell alone adds a whole new layer of intensity and sets the tone for what feels like a turning point in the series.

We also get great moments with Travis, Gage, and the rest of the Walkers, grounding the story with family ties and familiar faces fans have grown attached to. Their presence adds depth and continuity, making the world feel even richer.

Overall, this installment is packed with tension, emotion, and shocking twists. It keeps the momentum of the series going strong and leaves you desperate for what comes next.

I received an advance copy for my honest opinion.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

I thought that I would NEVER forgive Nicole Edwards for the massive, mind-reeling, insomnia-inducing cliffhanger at the end of Missing Pieces (Brantley Walker: Off the Books Book 12). Well, Nicole, you are more than forgiven! Smoke and Mirrors (Brantley Walker: Off the Books Book 11) is a hell of a ride and delivers everything fans expect from the Edwards’ Coyote Ridge Universe.

A Note on Spoilers: If you haven’t read Missing Pieces, be aware that this review may contain SPOILERS.

This book is an intricately woven tapestry of so many beloved characters from Nicole Edwards’ parallel universes. It picks up immediately as the OTB Task Force dives deeper into the conspiracy introduced in the last book.

Their investigation focuses on Censorious, a rogue FBI faction with an unsanctioned goal: to take down Max Adorite, leader of the Southern Boy Mafia. But the core mystery hits even closer to home, involving a direct connection to Brantley’s cousin, Travis Walker (Walkers of Coyote Ridge series), his deceased wife Kylie, and her killer, Juliet Price.

The driving question that propels the story forward is shocking: Could Kylie Walker be alive and used as a pawn in Censorious's plan?

The book reads like a bloodhound on a hot trail to unravel the mystery and prove the truth behind the conspiracy. Every chapter uncovers new revelations and questions to be answered. As the reader, you are along for the ride of suspense, elation, and super SPICY scenes that flow effortlessly as the story unfolds. If you are a fan of Nicole Edwards' books, you’ll be delighted by the interconnected stories, beloved characters, and suspenseful plot. 5-stars!!

Arc Review
( honoured to be arc reader)
Nicole has expressed an in-depth Dedication

The most anticipated read in the OTB series. Is book # 13 a lucky #?

Firstly let me start with personally becoming acquainted with the characters. If you have only read the OTB series, you will have become acquainted with Travis Walker & Fam. To go in depth, familiarise with The Walkers series.

Ok, this has been leading to THE (yes, in caps) anticipation of the mystery surrounding Kylie Walker. A contention for many who loved her and for the family who still struggle's. Won’t spoil as there are too many rabbit holes to fill here. But here’s a teaser -

* “Smoke and Mirrors/ Illusion of Progress”
* Kylie Walker
* Censorious
* FBI
* Babies
* Partnerships? Atticus &Archer, Evan & Beck
* Southern Boy Mafia - Max Adorite of the Adorite Crime Family
* Mysteries
* Rogue
* Task Force - not only holding each others backs but a family
* HOPE

There is so much mystery all pertaining to Kylie’s mother Meredith. What of the Southern Boy Mafia? How are they all involved? It’s a dangerous road the OTB team are nearing down to. Will there be more than 1 crossroad to consider?
Delve into mystery, heartfelt emotions, limitations, attachments, new pathways, jealousy, the list goes on.

What does not stop is Family. Nicole will catch you in her web of emotional characters. Characters who you would like to sit and have a beverage with. Though we will continue with the OTB Family, Nicole has hinted there will be an extended Walker read 🫢

Praise to Nicole and her family, yes Hennessy and Moscato too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️10 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

Just when you think this series can’t get any better Nicole absolutely knocks it out of the park. This book is so good I don’t think she will be able to better it.

(For the record she will because she’s brilliant but it’s just so fantastic!)

This book jumps right in from the Mic Drop at the end of the last book, that was an absolute doozy and left us all desperate for this story. The story runs at a fast pace and there’s a lot of big characters taking up space and getting involved.

I’m absolutely loving the Atticus and Archer partnership, they’ve got really good chemistry together and complement each other so well. I wasn’t sure there would be abit of an ego clash as Archer has come across as quite a strong personality previously but I was pleased to see how well they gelled.

For the record Slade can take a long walk of the nearest short cliff, I find him so irritating now and it’s getting worse with each book. I know I should have empathy for him but he just annoys the hell out of me. I want better for Atticus. I dislike Carson almost as much, he uses people for his own fun then discards them and I’m not here for that. I get that he tries to be upfront about it in general but I don’t feel that’s the case in this situation. I’m definitely Team Atticus.

Brantley and Reese are still just as yummy as always. I adore their relationship and love seeing how married life has settled for them. They’re such a strong team and I adore how much they support each other. It’s interesting to see them try to take a step back in this investigation all the while topping from the bottom 😂. It’s understandable that they need someone at the helm that doesn’t have a personal connection but you can really feel how hard it is for Brantley.

It’s always good to catch up with Travis, I’ve always enjoyed him but I’ve loved Gage from his first appearance back at the start of this family saga. He’s one of my favourite characters so I love getting him back for abit.

JJ and Baz are in such a good place now and it’s delightful to finally have the twins here and all is well.

This story is full of twists and turns and it plays out really well, I thoroughly enjoyed all the different characters and how they influenced the story. And although the resolution involved one of my least favourite characters it’s a very satisfying ending and will make for a great story in itself.

Words cannot express how much I loved this book! Bravo!!!! No spoilers about the actual story here but I will just say this, prepare yourself!
The task force picks up where they left off from the last book with Brantley having assigned Atticus and Archer to lead the investigation.
As always the love between Brantley and Reese makes my heart pound and feels like a living breathing entity. They are one sexy couple. Same goes for some other characters who I am very happy we are getting a little of again in this one with some steamy goodness and the emotional connection they have.
So much is happening in this book so do not blink! The way everyone works together to investigate and figure things out is awesome.
Keep your eyes on some of the other couples, or not quite couples, dynamics.
My heart did a happy dance when JJ and Baz finally bring their babies home from the hospital and we see their relationship bloom like a rose. Love that for them so much! I adore them together.
While Atticus and Archer are awesome leading this investigation, they are fighting an attraction to each other. So there’s that. I’m hoping they let it happen because I am so there for that pairing too. But that is a tricky situation.
Loved every moment of this story! This series just keeps getting better and I am so invested in everyone! I hope Nicole Edwards knows she has to keep writing this series forever!

So this installment of the Off the Books Task Force series picks up right after the HUGE jaw dropping revelation of the last book and it is non-stop chaos and action from there. I don’t want to spoil the main story other than to say it brought tears to my eyes and made my heart happy. We got a lot of answers in this book but also more questions to be answered and I am looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
We got to see more interactions with Atticus and Archer, and I am intrigued to see how that relationship grows. JJ and Baz got to bring the twins home and are in a good place in their relationship. It is good to see JJ getting some happiness after all she has been through. It was great to see Travis & Gage in this book and how they are trying to lean on each more after all they have gone through.
I really love the relationship between Brantley & Reese and how we have continued to see it grow and change. They have this calming effect on each other simply by being there that shows just how deep their connection is. I love seeing Brantley’s softer side when it comes to Reese and how well Reese takes care of Brantley to try and avoid his headaches.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see where the rest of this investigation will take the team both personally and professionally.

I about dropped my kindle at the end of the last book in this series (#12). I was like what did she just do to me? I was waiting for this book on tenterhooks and so happy that I really didn't have to wait too long for it. It was such a jaw dropping ending I didn't even have to go back and re-read it which is very unusual for me.

I pretty much locked myself in a room with my kindle, my drink and a bathroom. I didn't put the book down until I finished. I can't tell you enough how much I loved seeing everybody again and seeing more of the characters that you haven't seen a lot of lately.

The author did a fabulous job of answering some questions, giving us twists and turns, giving us more questions to be answered, of course the heat as always in her books was HOT, the kind that makes you fan your face! I loved seeing some characters stand up for themselves, one that I wanted to tell to please get help, you'll be so much better off personally and those around you will appreciate it also.

Everyone is working so hard on this case, no one slacks off and it's all forces ahead for the team. Travis and Gage are also here for all of this and I'm happy to see them. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Smoke and Mirrors is the thirteenth book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series by Nicole Edwards. I love this series and all of these characters. I'm still reeling from Missing Pieces and while hopeful had no idea how it was all going to play out. Nicole never disappoints with the intrigue, sexiness, suspense and laughter. This time, it's all hands on deck for the team, who's being led by Atticus and Archer, a fun pairing. Everyone on the team has the same objective. Do whatever they can to find the missing woman. And it's time sensitive. Even JJ and Baz are helping while waiting for the babies to come home. The case brings them all over Texas following every lead they find. While they are searching, the team members keep growing, learning and finding out things about themselves and each other. I love the Atticus and Archer storyline and of course more Evan and Becs. Reese and Brantley just keep getting better and better and I couldn’t love them more. I also loved seeing more Walkers (some of my faves) and getting lost in this story that was so emotional and exciting. As always, I can't wait to see what happens next! Hopefully we don't have to wait too long!

OMG what an awesome book this was. From the start of the book we already knew we was in for one of the most emotionally charge, action packed story that we was about to experience. This book gave us so many answers to so many questions that we the readers had. First let's start with JJ, we got to see JJ get a whole lot of happiness, as she and Baz was able to bring the twins home, her relationship with Baz is great. Then let's check in with Brantley and Reese, as usual these 2 are steady under pressure as always. Then we got Archer and Atticus, their parternship is simply awesome, waiting to see where this new partnership will lead them. But by far the most impacted couple in this book is Travis and Gage. The revelation in this book is what all of us readers have wanted and dreamt about eand was so overjoyed to see if happen. I would definitely recommend this book, this series, to anyone looking for a great happily ever after love story. I would only say please read Missing Pieces before reading Smoke and Mirrors.
Once again great, awesome and amazing job as always Nicole and I can't wait for the next installment.

OMG Smoke and Mirrors blew me away! This book was absolutely amazing. I am still in shock from all of the reveals that occurred in this book and yet still wondering “whodunnit and why?” WOW! Oh Wow! Did Nicole Edwards pack a real punch with this installment in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series! This one is one of her best yet. The twists and turns on this rollercoaster ride that Nicole Edwards takes you on in Smoke and Mirrors will have you gripping the bar while hanging onto the edge of your seat!

Smoke and Mirrors puts Archer Halligan, the newest member of the team, and Atticus James, the newly formed partners, at the forefront, since they are the team leaders working to solve this mystery. And what a mystery it is. Not only will they be reporting to their bosses, Brantley and Reese, but there also is Travis and Gage to deal with. Whew!

If you are ready for nonstop shocks after shocks while reconnecting with so many beloved characters from Nicole’s previous books, Smoke and Mirrors is the book for you! Bravo Nicole Edwards! Bravo! I’m on pins and needles waiting for the next installment even though I just finished this one.

Get ready for the ride or READ of your lives! This book was outstanding as Nicole Edwards is the master of writing amazing characters and stories that will have you not being able to put it down till you know the ending.
Brantley has handed over probably the most important case the Task Force has ever had to Archer and Atticus. Finding out if Kylie Walker is still alive.
It is all hands on deck for the entire team as many new leads come up to find a dirty FBI agent Martin Calloway who might have faked Kylie's death.
JJ and Baz finally get their babies home from the hospital. Atticus is having major issues with his threesome, as it seems he is giving up with Slade's jealousy issues. Evan and Becs have been given a second chance and hopefully will now go forward with their relationship. Kylie's mother is also back and she is also a huge piece of this puzzle.
OMG!! I can not say enough wonderful things about this book. Hope, suspense, love, mystery, family, and yes those sexy pages Nicole writes so well. Wish I could give it more than five stars.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

I don't know that I know how to review this book and not give something away. There is a lot going on and it will keep you on your toes. I loved the fact that we got to see Evan and Becs partnered up again. These two make pining for each other an art form. One you don't want to stop looking at either. JJ and Baz are here with the babies. I love when we get to see them even for a second in a book. Atticus, Slade and Carson. My oh my Slade, Slade, Slade, hello what the heck are you doing??? This part is going to break you heart a little because I want to see some things happen for them and so far nope not happening. Atticus has such growth and I am loving the changes in him since he has joined the task force. Now we must tackle a rogue FBI group concerning Kylies death almost two years ago and that pairs up Brantley Archer and Atticus. Buckle up because this is a book that you won't be able to put down. I loved every single second of it!! Go and get this book right now and enjoy the ride.

Freaking FINALLY!!!

I will say that the last review I did I was not happy with Nicole due to her killing off Kylie and I’m sure I’m not the only one who was mad. And I don’t think I’m the only one that is thinking the only reason she brought her back was because how badly people reacted to that. And it took 9 freaking books till finally she got around to it. Then we got so little of what happened cause of course she wants to write another book just about her and her story. Cause she doesn’t want to take away from B and R story but then don’t pull a main character from another story line into these books. Plus it was more than 9 books if you count Simon and Holt and it’s too much. I was just buying all the books just to go to the end to see if she brought her back yet what a messy road. Thought of it as a chess board moving all the pieces around. But it took too long I couldn’t enjoy the books between because I was looking for any parts about Kylie. I didn’t care about others just her. And now we have to wait for another book to get her story. (Shaking head)

Holy smokes! What a ride! I’m so glad we didn’t have to wait long for this book, because Nicole has absolutely rocked my world all over again. There is so much happening from start to finish. You won’t want to put it down for a second. And that big moment all of Nicole Nation has been buzzing about is finally fully revealed. I don't want to give any spoilers so I will just say I couldn’t be happier with how it played out.

Just like every other Nicole masterpiece, this book is packed with steam, emotion, bits of drama, and those perfect little "aww" moments. Brantley and Reese are still going strong. Plus, I love getting so many different character perspectives.

Of course, the fact that this series mostly takes place in the beloved world of Coyote Ridge makes it even better. We get to peek back into the lives of so many fan-favorite characters. It feels like coming home. But the story isn’t over yet! I seriously cannot wait to see what Nicole delivers next!!

Buckle your seatbelts folks because you are in for a bumpy ride. Brantley and his team are reeling from the news they got at the end of the previous book (not saying what that is because you don't want to spoil that book if you haven't read it yet), and have now immersed themselves in a singular mindset. Find out if the victim is indeed still alive and if she is, find her leaving no stone uncovered. Nothing is as it seems and all our hot security men are chomping at the bit to uncover all and any leads. Answers bring more questions which bring more answers and then more questions, leading them to evidence that seems so hard for them to handle. Through this, we have some couples having difficulties in their relationships, other new relationships may be on the horizon and in the end.....more questions than answers are waiting for them. I absolutely am drawn in to this story and anticipating the next story in the Off the Books series.

Smoke and Mirrors, the thirteenth book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series, is an absolute triumph. Nicole Edwards continues to deliver her signature blend of intrigue, sexiness, and laughter in this emotionally charged, action-packed story.

It is all hands-on deck as a new dynamic duo, Atticus and Archer, lead the team across Texas to find a missing woman. While the suspense is high, the personal moments steal the show: JJ and Baz finally find happiness as they are bringing the twins home, and Reese and Brantley are as steady as ever. But the true highlight is the long-awaited revelation for Travis and Gage, it really was everything I dreamt of and so much more!

This book also answers so many questions, but I highly recommend reading Missing Pieces first to fully appreciate the emotional weight. Once again, an amazing job by Nicole and I can't wait for the next installment in this series or even a new series with wonderful characters.

I am voluntarily writing this honest review after reading a #gifted ARC via the author. SMOKE AND MIRRORS is the thirteenth book in the BRANTLEY WALKER: OFF THE BOOKS TASK FORCE series by Nicole Edwards. This is a connected series which requires reading every book. In this book, the task force continues with their investigation into the revelations from the last book that took the team on an unpredictable, twisty route. It also continues to follow the relationships of members of the Task Force. The series reminds me of the serial publications that used to be released for authors like Charles Dickens, and I have loved every one of these books. This one did not disappoint, and resolved some issues that have been stewing since the fifth book, ALIBI, and I was so happy with the way it was resolved. I love this group of characters as well as the Walker family, and many characters from other series by this author made appearances in this novel as well. This book is an open door, spicy, third person, multi-POV, contemporary romantic suspense with tropes such as: LGBTQIA+, Navy SEAL, Missing people, Mystery, forced proximity, workplace romance, small town, Corrupt Politician, Multiple Relationships, Conspiracy Theory, and Road Trips. I recommend this book for readers who enjoy LGBTQIA+ positive romantic suspense. (4.5 stars rounded to 5 where necessary.)

Happy to see the wait is finally over for what happens next. I was happy to see that so many things were tied up from the last book. Yet I know there is still more to come, because, some things are still not finished.
Any story with a happy family and babies is a good one for me. To see that Baz and JJ are finally, hopefully, going to find happiness as a family is a joy.
Of course what Coyote Ridge Universe, read would be complete with out a check in on Coyote Ridge's favorite family, this time, Gage and Travis.
I loved the book, loved the stories that I know are still to come out of this book. Hoping for Atticus' story line to be in the next book that is releases. Only time will tell. This is another five star read for Nicole Edwards and her Brantley Walker Off the Books Series.

OMG. The saga continuing is fantastic. So much goes on this book! The main plot centers around the investigation stemming from that last cliffy! I don’t want to spoil it but highly recommend reading this! I also feel like I am more comfortable with the rest of the team and their drama after this book.
Atticus, Slade and Carsen. Oof. I don’t know what I want from you.
I do want Slade’s back story to come up soon! (ie and Spencer’s)
JJ, Baz and the twins. Sigh. When will the fatigue set in :)
Archer and Atticus?? Maybe? Love them as partners.
Evan and Becs, get it figured out already lol.
And of course Brantley and Reese (and Tescha). Still my favs.
There are other players you will have to read to catch up on!
Highly recommend. Need more soon

The task force picks up where we left off from the previous book, with an explanation of the dead stop, holy cow what did Nicole do in the last book.
In this book we find that Atticus and Archer are fighting an attraction to each other that gets them thinking of their present relationships. I hope to see more of that because the Atticus/Slade/Carson, whatever it is, was starting to grate on my nerves. We see more of the love between Brantley and Reese, they are so in tune we each other, it’s great to see a great partnership. JJ and Baz finally bring the twins home, Evan is second guessing his relationship with Becs, (fingers crossed), Travis and Gage get involved as the realization that Kylie might be alive.
Loved this book!

Absolutely Gipping!

Where do I begin to review this book?
OK let's start by thanking Nicole Edwards for this gripping story, it has so much going on, so many answers, so much action, so much fear, so many surprises but most of all a HEA.
If you haven't read any of the Off The Books series then may I suggest you start right now. Brantley and his team are unstoppable when families involved and this case was important to everyone who knows a Walker.
I don't agree with spoilers but all you need to know is, this book will keep you racing through the pages. It's so brilliantly written.
Nicole's best work to date for sure.
I look forward to what happens next, with the present case and the relationships that are burning holes in the pages.

Wow! Nicole Edwards is back with an amazing addition to the Brantley Walker series. While I have loved reading Nicole’s book for years, this one is special. Almost like I could feel her joy and love of writing leap off the page again. The storylines were intricate, intense and kept me desperate for more. This book could have been 100 more pages and I’m not sure it would have been enough. I can’t wait to see where the team, especially Brantley, Reese, Travis and Gage go from here. It was also so fun to see Atticus and Archer take the lead in this huge case that continues to unfold. Here’s to hoping the next book is right around the corner because it’s a series I can’t forget about!

First what a story, this was worth waiting for. This story is an emotional roller coaster be prepared with tissues because you will cry trust me. as for the team I really hope Atticus and Archer become more than partners I will be interested to see where that goes, So Happy for JJ and Baz and the twins,As for Evan and Becs they better get their act together soon and realize they belong together . Slade has too much issues from the past and breaks up with Atticus and Carson . without spoilers when you read the book you will already know what the next case is going to be for the team . Brantley and Reece and Tesha are doing good ,happy in their marriage

I don’t know what to say! This has been a long time coming. The OFF THE BOOKS TASK FORCE are back. Brantley and Reese are letting a couple of the other guys , Archer and Atticus, take lead on this case. The team is “ all hands on deck” and they are chasing leads all over Texas. They go interview a mob boss, check out a co workers childhood home, and lose whoever is following them. Steamy. Secrets. Mystery. Several different point of views. You don’t want to miss his one. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I know not very long but don’t want to give anything away.

Smoke and Mirrors is the 13th installment in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series and it must be read in order for the dynamics between the characters to make sense. It's more of a suspense than a romance, with just a touch of relationship drama concerning two team members and both steamy and sweet cameos of others living their HEAs. For the most part, it's pure adrenaline and mystery, with lots of twists, turns and a truly surprising ending which makes me look forward to the next chapter! I was fortunate to have received an early copy and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.

This book is a real nail biter to the very end. Bar an JJ’s twins, Noah & Naomi come home early. Atticus and Slade break up, but could there be a budding romance between Atticus and Archer? Becs and Evan are still wading through the murky waters of their relationship. Brantley, Reese, and Tesha are as great as ever. I mean, how could they not be? Married life looks fantastic on them.
Don’t get too cozy though, because this story is going to take you down a winding road of one plot twist after another. Grab your favorite snack and drink and buckle up because you aren’t going to want to put this book down until you read the very last word.
