The time has come to pay Sawyer back for all of his support and hard work. For taking a chance on Sean when no one else would. For getting Sean the needed supplies for the war back when no one else was able. Sawyer has always been in Sean's court and has gone above and beyond more than once.
And let's not even mention the help he's provided to Mihalis and Troy!
So the lions are off to Nighthome to help Sawyer take the crown, which in goblin society is a lot more like a hostile corporate takeover, combined with counting coup, than any kind of violence.
Hopefully.
However, as long as they're going to be in the Goblin and Dark Elves homeland, there's a little matter of taking House Uunregarten to task for a number of actions that have impacted House Valens, Sean's wife Cali, their children, and of course the lions. House Uunregarten is about to learn that it is never wise to piss off a lion. Especially not one who is immortal, knows magic, and is going to show up with ten thousand of his best friends to have a ... few words.
This is the last of the Valens' Books. The Author is of course grateful to all of you who have supported him for all of this series. However no amount of begging, whining, crying, or screaming will change his mind. Large sums of money however... Also, if you see a brightly colored box with a nice ribbon on it, and it's not Christmas? Better to leave that one alone!
I'm new to the Harem / LitRPG thing (If I'd known more about LitRPG when I wrote Shadow, I might have incorporated more elements of that into it). I have a FT job, so I work on this when I can. Hopefully the next one will be even better. https://stryvant.blogspot.com/
Lacking I hate to write a bad review for a writer I like. Writing anything is hard, and writing something great is not guaranteed even if you've done it before. -In the afterword to this book Jan Stryvant said he was pretty much done with this series a while back, but fans asked him to bang out one last book to finish the series. I'm glad he didn't leave Valens Heritage hanging incomplete. ...but this book feels more like an afterthought than a conclusion, and it changes the tone of the whole series.
This is a superb finish to the Valens Heritage series, and I highly recommend it and ALL the books in both the original Valens Legacy and Valens Heritage series. I have bought them all and read all except this one several times over. I have not had the chance to reread this one as I have obviously only just finished my first read of it, but I will be starting it over as soon as I have finished this review. This is a very enjoyable and fulfilling end to the series tying off the loose ends nicely. As the author feels that he has written all that he can (currently) I hope that he may consider letting other authors into this universe in the same way that he has let Peter Gerard in to write the Vales Heritage Universe novels. (Not read them yet, I also highly recommend them.)
The twenty-eight and final book is the series has come to an end. And sadly, I want more. This being only the second book series over fourteen books that I have completed. I usually get bored with the storyline or character development, but never in this series. The characters just grew and got more complex as the story went, then the kids were introduced, and couldn't get enough.
Here's hoping for a Sisters of Steel series. Come on, they are all beautiful, sexy, loving girls who kick ass. And would do anything for family, including bodily harm to any that would cross their family.
I really enjoyed this series and appreciated the delve into the goblin society. While this did wrap up a lot, I still don’t want it to end, when you decided to write of the children I was ecstatic. I enjoy several of your other storylines, but I started reading your books because of the Valen’s stories, they will remain some of the most cherished books in my collection!
I enjoyed the book in the wider sense, but something felt off, not much of a fan of Sawyer’s partner, which seemed off putting to me. The book felt a bit forced and it felt like an afterthought where things are wrapped up to finish the story. I am now really preferring John’s work in the Wolfhounds Universe, and hope he keeps going with these and/or similar works.
I’ve loved this story from the first book, I will definitely miss it, but I understand that it has to be profitable for the author to spend the time on. I’m a KU reader, so probably do add to the financial problem since the reduction sent to the author, sorry but my income doesn’t meet my reading appetite, I do hope you can keep up the great work with your next project.
If you have not read all previous stories in the Valens Legacy or the Valens Heritage, stop reading this book and go to the beginning. You need to read all previous books to understand all the back stories that are tied up in this book. An excellent end to the family saga.
Each and every book in the series was amazingly strong from start to finish. Truly sad to hear that there will not be any more Valen's stories. I have enjoyed this book and the entire series immensely. Thank you to the author so many wonderful memories!
I think I speak for all the readers of this series when I say thank you for giving this series an ending!! It sad to think its over but at least now we have some closure for these characters and most of the lose threads clipped or closed!!! So thank you and may all of your writing be this enjoyed by people!!!!
Hopefully Valens turns someday. This book is interesting because it could easily have been 3 or more books yet touches on everything and almost everyone. If this is really the final book, anyone who has found enjoyment in the series will find it entertaining.
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series! Quite frankly all of the Valens universe! What a wild and crazy ride. Seeing all of the aspects of family and friendship. Thank you for this amazing ride. I look forward to reading many more of your stories!
I'll miss this Series. I hope Mr. Stryvant will revisit from time to time. I do wish there was a little more of an epilog, but it is what it is. Thanks again.
I really enjoyed all ten of the Valens Heritage books. The books with Mihalis as the MC were my favorite since he was always up to something interesting. Although I am sad to see the "Valens" books end, the conclusion was well done. Thank you!
As a reader, following some series over 15 books can be a challenge. But some are worth it. This short anthology and the preceding legacy series have been worth it. Thanks for wrapping up the story and giving us a satisfying conclusion.
Loved the whole story line. Would definitely keep reading it if you keep writing it. Great characters, great story, lots of humor(tons really). Keep writing great books for us!
Great book had to fight with myself on wether to speed through it or slowly draw out the story. The Valens saga has been something to look forward to ever since I fist picked up black Friday. I'm currently read his wolf hounds books and can't wait for more books.
From start to finish this series has been epic. Character development is superb and you feel the love in every moment it's expressed. Can't wait to hear about the kids in the future.
I liked this series of books they had some great characters and good action. I liked the blend of modern weapons and magic, and someone swinging a sword is always great. Looking forward to more books by John, Wolfhounds was great as well.
I have loved this series and have waited for the next installment. I do agree with you Jan the series book was so so I did enjoy the Mike and Troy books more.
