For the readers of The Love series, The Wrapped series, The Burning Souls series and Love You Anyways.
A continuation of Lucas and Tessa's story, in Lucas Link's POV.
In Love Notes, Lucas and Tessa's rekindled love has never been stronger. Although she has never wanted to revisit the past it weighs on Lucas's heart.
Lucas wants Tessa to know everything, yet burdening her further is not an option.
Love notes is a short story, or Novella, that answers readers questions and gives us a more in-depth look at the man Lucas, was and the man he has become.
MJ Fields is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance novels. She lives in New York with her daughter Miss A, smoochie faced Newfie, Theo and the newest member to the 'fields crew, rescue diva / holy terror Eleanor. When she’s not locked away in the cave, she enjoys doing home improvement projects, spending time with her family, attending live music and sporting events, the theatre, singing off key, dancing to her own beat, listening to audio books, and reading of course.
This whole series was ridiculously hard for me to read. There is something that is just so honest about the whole series. Then MJ had to come out and write Lucas' side of the story. I did and I didn't want more, not because I didn't like the series, but because I knew it would probably make me cry and feel. I wasn't wrong. I agreed with Lucas on some things and disagreed with him on others, but overall I loved where his heart was.
I thought that they way he was trying to express himself was honest and beautiful. It was raw, honest and feely. (Yeah I'm going to go ahead and make that a word). If you've read the series, you're going to want to pick this book up asap. If you want a book up that doesn't pull any punches, then pick up this series today, just have the tissues ready.
This was a book just from Lucas' POV. It was his book of excuses, I mean reasons for why he treated her like crap and cheated on her repeatedly throughout the series. I love that he has the presence of mind to finally realize what he did and what was behind it. He sometimes made it seem like it was Tessa's fault because she wanted to work or be at someone's birth rather than with him in the road. This is what he blames for his cheating. Incredible. Anyway, he knows it was a weak excuse but puts it out there anyway, saying that's how he felt at the time. I understand some things because of his parents, but honestly you have to own your own choices. I guess I'm just not that forgiving. It is 20 years later though. The point is that if he wasn't a total douchebag and broke her heart and crushed her soul without a second thought, that they wouldn't be the people they are today. He can now be faithful and love her and she has had time to know real true love with Collin. They both have kids they love and have grown as people. So this book shows how he wants to explain his thought process and why things had to happen a certain way to get them to how great things are today. If he really can be faithful and love her the way she deserves then I'm happy. She deserves it.
This book is not worth your time. I would zero rate this if I could.
Problem 1. No author should ever write a book to explain a character when FIVE other books preceded it. Your previous books should have explained your characters, so there is no need to write filler.
Problem 2. The author just rehashes stuff from previous books, but does not take the time to clean the grammar. Unfortunately this book and author’s first book are the most poorly written. Why....For the Love God....would she do that again when she had clearly improved. It’s an asinine money grab that disregards her previous and better efforts.
Problem 3. This book is not needed. A blinded, deaf and crazy, rabid dog could sense with his nose what was wrong with Lucas. You do NOT need a recap.
Unless you are fans of the poor writing in this first book, then it’s not worth the effort.
We see a more relaxed Lucas in this book, "I got your cardio right here." I take her hand and pull it, without a struggle I might add, to my erection." Also his d*** is still his BFF (but I doubt that's ever going to change where Lucas is concerned), "offensive," I scowled at her. I looked down at my d***, "she's really extremely fond of you, sorry big guy." I look up to Tessa. "Say sorry baby." I really liked seeing Lucas without any drama and a one woman man it was a great change from what we're used to with him.
Love Letters is a view into Lucas's Love of his forever girl Tessa. Lucas has always loved Tessa but never loved himself. It took him 25 yrs to finally prove to her he could be the man she always knew he could be. Mj once again made me fall in love with Lucas Links. It was wonderful to see how the old and new clans were doing. I cried reading this going down memory Lane with Lucas.
I can not express how much I love these characters and this series! If you have not read The Love, Wrapped, and Burning Souls series, do yourself a favor and read them!!! They are a beautiful story about love. They characters are not perfect and don't always make the right decision but they love hard.
Lucas is amazing, and is the wonderful husband and Dad we knew he could be. He makes up for the past with Tessa everyday, doing everything to keep her happy. In this book you get a little of the past and present which wraps it up all nice and sweet for us. Love this series!!!
No matter what that man did he always did it with the most love. MJ I absolutely love all your books but Lucas was my first book boyfriend, so an "extra large" thank you for him. :)
I Loved this emotional trip down memory lane with Tessa and Lucas and it's from Lucas' point of view. Prepare yourself for another book with a perfect title. Love Notes is the perfect title for this beautiful and emotional book. MJ is a master writer! Her books can make for a great movie! Lucas writes about everything he went through while dating Tessa and so on. It's raw and may come off as selfish. But I read the series and cried and was so emotionally invested in this couple, I fell in love with them! My only complaint/wish is that since they married young why couldn't they have a baby of their own? I recommend reading this great love story in order.
This is a rehash of Lucas playing poor pitiful me. No one is there for me, no one loves me, so I will just screw you over before you can screw me over. I liked Tessa but there are moments when she seems really pathetic. I hate how she always instantly forgave him and at times seemed to beg him to come back to her. Even after she caught him in so many compromising situations.
This supplement unnecessary. It's nice to know about Jessie, but there are different types of infidelity. This supplement tries too hard to show Tessa and Lucas were each other's true love. It contradicts the original series and diminished the marriage between Tessa and Collin.
I literally just cried like a big ol baby! Seeing the things that they went through from Lucas' point of view, knowing the things that I do now. I just want to wrap him in a big hug and never let him go.
I thought this was a perfect way to look at this couple I enjoyed Lucus's pov but still believe he was wrong. But my love for him and Tessa overcame all the hurt he put her through. I know he had his reasons but it still wasn't right. Ash really was not the one who saved him I hate her arggggg. Tessa saved him so much she always put her feelings aside for him. But finally my girl walked away which was impressive because no one loved Lucas the way she did. But she found a new man who I absolutely fell in love with who warmed my heart by how much he proved his love for her. But sadly things sometimes don't always end HEA and we are on borrowed time. By this time of her life I know she and Lucas still loved each other but had to hold back. BUT ONCE THEY CONNECTED AGAIN I KNEW IT WAS MEANT TO BE. you really have to start at the beginning to understand this love they share it's a beautiful journey. Great job
I love reading about Tessa and Lucas, truly can't get enough of these two. I love how we were able to see into Lucas head and get an explanation of sorts on how he felt and why he did what he did through out the years. Not only to Tessa but to others in his life. I love hearing about them being together. I will always want more of these beautiful characters.
This was the perfect ending for the Tessa/Lucas story. I always wondered how certain scenes in the Love series actually happened, like exactly how Ashley and Lucas came to be, for example. Loved the prologue too :) Now I will be patiently waiting for Ava and London's stories! Can't wait to see what happens with these two spitfires :)
Omg... and you wrote this for those of us who wanted more? Well guess what MJ I am still wanting more! Lol omg I don't think I ever really hated Lucas but I definitely love him now! I really hope there is a story for London and Ava! The boob scene in the book was hilarious!
It was a great read but short 56 pages but gives you a look into Lucus's POV. I really hope the next generation gets books because this is a great series and I loved all the books in the series. I have all this authors books and haven't read a bad one yet. Rated very good
This so explained what was going on in Lucas's head and were it was at during there time together. He was afraid of what he had and didn't feel he deserving of the love he had and destroyed it due to that. I loved that we got a look in what he was going on.
Hearing Lucas's side of the Love series will put some things in perspective for those who have read the Love series. A must read, MJ will make you feel all different editions as your read this book and this series.
I will always love Lucas and Tessa no matter all the bad things he did, I believe he never had great role models in his life until her and he didn't know how to handle his feelings. I wish they had beautiful babies together but their family is amazing together
WOW!This book was very strange but very enlightening. Reading things from Lucas's POV bring a lot of questions to a close. Tessa and Lucas? You just have to love them anyways.
I loved this series by MJ Fields!! Had a hard time putting it down! I love being able to see Lucas thoughts and feelings!! Would have liked to have seen a little more!!'n
