I read the first book in this series and found it just so-so but thought that maybe the author's writing and plotting would have improved as the series had continued. I thought that the setup would be interesting and the heroine was described in reviews as feisty and strong. Instead I find her immediately checking all the guys out and dissolving into teenage swooning instead of worrying about the fact that she's on another planet and in big trouble for possibly shooting a native. The scene where she learns she's on another planet and can't go back is ridiculous. All the women in the former romances are trotted out and a synopsis of the first woman's (Amber) experience is given. I would be skeptical, panicked, and trying to make a break for it if I heard all that, but she takes it all in stride with no hysteria or doubt. She's too busy noticing Knaleg's lips to ask many questions. When she starts getting all turned on by the guy telling her she's going to be confined and under guard, I gave up and didn't finish. The writing is extremely choppy and amateurish and the characters have very little personality just as in the first book. I don't plan to read any others in the series.
