Alright, so...WTF?

I went from this chick, Bianca, to being someone who sticks up for herself, to being scared (which in some parts, completely understandable) to cowering down from 0 to 100. Her famous words were always "fuck you" then she does what she's told. 😒

Alright, fine.

Then I'm introduced to this little prick, Hail, our villain. Dude is disgusting, I'm give the author props on literally wanting to rip this guy's crap off. Kudos there.

Then we get to our harem, Dominic, Vincent, and Levin. I swear some of the banter between the two of them reminded me of their age. 😬 Like...✋️ no thanks.

Dominic grew on me first. For a second. Then Vincent. Levin was perceived as this crazy killer dude, cool story, but I have yet to see him do anything but be broody and nontalkitive.
So we're reading and reading...I get to hear about how beautiful Bianca is and everyone wants to screw her because she's a virgin. *sigh*

Okay...

More talking about how she's beautiful, the enemy, more screwing. 🤔

Now all of a sudden things get heated and now everyone is in love with her.

Wait, what?

You've known each other for 5 minutes?

You had this chick eating on the floor like a dog?

I'm confused...

You love her?

I get the whole alpha/mafia crap. However, let me go back to the 5 minute thing.

FIVE MINUTES.

I would've let this slide if we weren't confessing our love four minutes later. I can't.

Smh...

Anyways...so our girls a virgin. She's not anymore. Now she wants to screw all the time. Oh! And everyone says how good she sucks them off after her first time. 👍 sounds totally legit.

I'm just...I get this is fiction. I get that I'm supposed to be sucked into a story to get me out of my real life. But the love stuff just threw me for a loop. Not any of the dark or messed-up scenes, it was the emotional connection.

Where is it?

It was lacking in that department, and I paged flipped.

I will admit, though, I'm curious to see how this is going to end. The author can write great inner monologue, how some of the dialogue was just, ugh.

Good god.. this book was so one dimensional. The same shit over and over again.

She’s SO hot.. but she’s a D’Angelou.
She’s SO stunning.. but she’s a D’Angelou.
Beautiful.. but a D’Angelou.
Gorgeous.. but a D’Angelou.

The ONLY thing I learnt about the main character in the 23% of the book that I read was that she pretty, and apparently everyone wanted her so much that all the guys that had ONLY JUST MET HER were willing to goto war to have her. And also her dad is missing. That’s it. No substance whatsoever.

Spicy & Captivating

Her mother newly married to the D'Angelou family (unbeknownst mafia ties), daughter Bianca finds herself betrothed to Mikhail "Hail" of the Ivanov family and attending Bolten Academy, unaware of the strife this pledged alliance and Hail and his crew will bring to her. Enter the Kings -- Dominic, Vincent, and Levin -- members of the de Santis rival family to the Ivanov-D'Angelou partnership. What are the secrets among them? Who's the devil and what happens when Bianca wants to make a deal with him?

Excellent character development made this story vibrant, a live enactment transpiring in my mind. The mystery and twists keep me uncertain but excited about what I would read next. Dominic, controlled but fiery leads their trio, including a more carefree Vincent and broody and cold Levin, who work their deals and business while at the academy. Likewise, a power-hungry and volatile Hail of the opposing family leads the Ivanov crew. Bianca, sweet and assertive, is catalyst between them.

The pace was fluid, progressive even while rich in detail. The writing depicted tangible sexual chemistry and tension, even strong feelings, between Bianca and the guys. It was indeed a very spicy read. Besides the unpredictable plot that had my eyes eating up the book's words, I was surprised at unexpected outcomes. While not a dark romance by my standards, there were dark themes and a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers.

A captivating read. I can't wait to know what happens next

EEEEEEEK! This is a dark little beast! Too dark for me that's for sure. I have to give up on dark books when I absolutely have ZERO interest in the mmc's and/or they reach a point of irredeemable--and that's what happened with this one. The guys really just disgust the hell out of me, and I found myself at a point where there wasn't a character in the book that I liked.

For all my little lovers of all things dark, this one is for you! You will LOVE it!

If you are sensitive to triggers or if you get kinda squirmy with things like non-con, degradation/humiliation, and or physical violence...you need to steer clear of this one.

I can read dark books, and I thought that I would be okay with this one, but at the 80% mark I just had to stop. When I get to the point that I'm so mad and just want every single person in the book to die already, then I have to step away.

Congrats to Reuss for writing a book that definitely engaged my emotions....even if it was mostly seething anger, lol.

This author knows how to do dark!!! HOLY ISH‼️ This baby right here is dark and makes my little black heart beat wildly! I loved it! This is one of those books that keeps you on your toes guessing what might happen and let me tell you that you still won’t know. Just when you think you have it figured out you absolutely don’t…. I can’t even begin to tell you the emotional roller coaster ride that I was taken on and I am sure we are barely scratching the surface. This series is going to be so da*n good I can’t wait for more! This is one of those stories that you don’t want to say too much so that you don’t give anything away just know that you should read the TW and if your cool then dive in head first because everything you think you know about this book I promise you it’s so much more… ONE CLICK NOW!!!

I found this book to be extremely frustrating. I don't know how many times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room because it made me so mad, but at the same time I found the overall story line to be interesting. I understand that it is an enemies to lovers, bully romance, and I'm all for that, but it seemed like she literally hated all of them one minute(with good reason) and then was all of a sudden professing her love for all of them the next second. There was no gradual transition or groveling or any change in their crappy behavior. None of her relationships with any of the guys seemed believable to me because they never did anything to try and redeem themselves. Like I said, extremely frustrating/confusing, but I am invested enough to want to know what is going to happen next and continue the series.

Yikes

Yikes. Where do I start. This book went from zero to one hundred in like five pages. No build up, no real back ground; don’t even get me started on all the characters. Poor things are so confused about their personalities. This book couldn’t decide if it wanted to be dark and mature or angsty and adolescent. This was the second series I tried from this author after I could finish the “In Silence” series. That series got way too much towards the end it just became too unbelievable for even fiction. I feel like this author never knows what direction she’s going to rubles all of her thoughts into her books whether they should be there or not. Needless to say, I won’t be continuing this series or any other books by this author.

There’s nothing I love more than a full cast audiobook and this was DELICIOUSSSSS!

Picture this:
You’re in college and there’s two rival groups “the lords” and “the kings” except the lords are f**king awful and you’re stuck engaged to one of them until the leader of “the kings” decides you’re his now, you accept his trade of your virginity for his protection but now there’s all kinds of war going on! Not only do you have one member of “the kings” after you, the other two want a slice as well 🥵

This was SO GOOD! I fkn love a why choose with a hint of mystery/angst/suspense.

Also that cliffhanger?! Immediately need book two. 🫣

This has been forever on my TBR and I’m so glad I finally read it. My girls told me the guys in this were YUM and they did not disappoint.

This book is dark and not always easy to read, but KG didn’t disappoint with her writing and the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters in this. I was expecting a bit more from Hail, but the ways I fell for Levin are unreal.

I really enjoyed the building of the plot and the cliffhanger has me so curious that I’m immediately jumping into Book 2!

I received the audiobook for this and basically went into it blind because I like the author. Wow this book was great! It had so much plot with a good amount of spice, there was a lot of drama. I love college/university romances, especially when they’re why choose with rival groups. Listening to the audiobook actually made this story so much better and I really enjoyed the fact that it was multi cast and easy to differentiate between the characters which can sometimes be hard in a why choose with one narrator playing all of them

Once again KG Reuss aka QUEEN of CLIFFY, SUSPENSE, HEARTBREAK and TORTURE has come through with an explosive start to the crazy, chaotic, dark and twisted Reverse Harem story that is Dirty Little Secrets from The Kings of Bolton series.

Dirty Little Secrets is an Enemies to Lovers Bully Romance story told through multiple POVs consisting of Bianca D’Angelou née Walker alongside the Kings Dominic ‘Dom’ De Santis, Vincent Valentino and Levin ‘Levi’ Seeley plus a surprising other.

Dirty Little Secrets is just that, a story that is filled to the brim with dirty secrets,.
With a narrative that gave you so much to take in and consume, considering everything that was going on and around the lives of the main characters Bianca, Dom, Vincent and Levi. Whilst simultaneously looking at the story into the secondary characters, with their relevance and how they connect into the main plot. However despite all that is going on, it never took away from the main narrative that was focused around Bianca and her relationship with the Kings. Seeing as it’s their story.
It lead to the overall journey that is Dirty Little Secrets taking you on is a tumultuous whirlwind adventure that consisted of drama from the rivalry between the Kings and Lords, as well as from the rocky relationship between Bianca and her Kings. Suspense surrounding the mysteries that are hinted to with the secrets that are being kept hidden away, causing a lot of angst from the building of tension and anticipation of what would and/or could occur when said secrets were revealed. On top of that there was SUPER HEATED, SMOKING HOT and SPICY steam that definitely had you needing to crack a window. All mainly set within the grounds of Bolten Academy.
All in all, reading this story was like riding a rollercoaster ride, unpredictable and full of surprises considering the ups and downs that occur throughout. Never wanting it to end of get off, especially considering the lead up led to an SHOCKINGLY UNFORGETTABLE and UNEXPECTED drop that resulted in more HAVOC and CHAOS!

The cliffhanger ending though, talk about EXPLOSIVE! It will leave you slack jawed with being speechless, while simultaneously wanting to scream for more!
Safe to say Dirty Little Secrets blew me away, which is why I can’t wait for the next book to see how the story will play out!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading Dirty Little Secrets, I promise you won’t regret it!

Underage rape/sexual assault. Not kinky.

I’ve never read a book that made me feel like was being raped right along with a FMC.

This is a truly awful story. There’s nothing kinky or intriguingly taboo about what Hail (her forced fiancé) does to her. He physically, sexually and psychologically rapes seventeen-year-old Bianca multiple times. He doesn’t force her vaginally. He does, however, mouth rape her in front of his friend, and then burns a spot on her chest. He hits her, calls her horrible names, and threatens to pass her off to his friends so that they can, essentially, fuck her to death. And soon after that traumatizing evening sport, he and his friends actually gang rape her mouth (Fallon is a sort of exception. Sort of).

If it was me, someone would be dead and my vocal cords would be shredded from screaming. Bianca is supposed to be a smart, tough FMC. She’s not—not in a believable way. And her way of giving in doesn’t make her brave, strong or resilient. She fights back a little, sorta, and after landing one strike, promptly gives up. She’d have been more relatable and realistic if she’d fought during her first sexual assault.

None of this makes a good story. I can’t reiterate that enough. This is sick. It’s too much, even for me, and I’ve read some fucked-up shit and been okay. I’m not okay while reading this. I get that the author stated her work is OTT and ridiculous and to not focus on how outrageous it is. She’s asking for the moon to stop the tides so she can instill world peace. Every page contains something horrific that can’t be overlooked.

There’s more to dislike. The dialogue within the two opposing groups of guys is beyond offensive and demeaning. Think an OTT gang rape scene in a B-rated porno. It’s pure filth. There’s so much hate toward women in this book (and I’m only fifteen or so chapters in), the author should be ashamed of her imagination. In no universe in the world would these pieces of shit boys get away with their behavior, whatever their wealth. So far, there is absolutely ZERO adult authority mentioned—no teachers, no school staff. I think it’s partly done out of convenience for the writer and partly out of laziness. Readers (the ones who carry on, at least) are stuck with a bunch of sociopathic malignant narcissists raping and pillaging and [allegedly] murdering the female population at a boarding school.

Lastly, the obsession with Bianca’s beauty is obnoxious. Readers are reminded how desirable and fuckable she is on every other page. Even if the rest of the content had been better, the focus on her looks alone was enough to ruin the story.

For once, I’m not quitting a book because it’s poorly written. I’m quitting because the author has gone too far.

Badly done, author. Just…badly done.

Another extremely innocent virgin heroine, while everyone else (male & female) are sluts.

On top of that, she’s the best at everything sexual (even if she’s has no experience whatsoever)

And let’s not forget the fact that she is so weak! Absolutely pathetic.

🎧: Dirty Little Secrets (Kings of Bolten Book 1)
🎙️: Performed in full cast duet by Blair Thatcher, Joe Arden, Jameson Adams, Devon Ryder, Anthony Palmini, Liam Dicosimo

Thrust into an elite academy and torn between rival mafia families, Bianca must quickly learn how to survive without losing more pieces of herself. But is she trading one cage for another?

Tropes:
🎙️Duet style narration
🏫Academy setting
🖤Dark bully why choose romance
💰Rival mafia families
🫂Forced proximity
🌶️: open door
⚠️Check TW/CW

Bianca is tenacious and demands respect. She didn’t choose her life nor being caught between the Kings and Lords at Bolten.

The full cast of narrators brought all the angst, heat, and obsession between Bianca and the MMCs. And holy hell these MMCs radiate all possessive, indecent, touch her & 💀vibes and I need the next book immediately!

As secrets unravel, Bianca’s situation becomes more precarious. They may all see her as a pawn, but she’s destined to be a queen. I was hooked by this emotionally raw and fast-paced why choose dark romance.

Huge thanks to the author and @bluenoseaudio for the listening copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Kings, Lords, and Why-Choose Dark Romance — Oh My!

Wow. That’s the first word that comes to mind for Dirty Little Secret! It’s my newest obsession, I seriously can’t wait to dive into the next book.

I knew it would be packed with drama, but I didn’t expect half of what went down. It’s safe to say this one pulled the carpet right out from under my feet — the surprises just kept coming.

This story will have you saying “What?!” a lot, so be prepared For shock & twists! you meet Lana — who you instantly want to hug and protect. The story picks up fast, within the first few chapters you’ll be hooked, completely wrapped up in what’s happening and curious about what the FMC will do next. Lana’s in a tough spot, doing the best she can with the cards she’s been dealt — and boy, is it a lot!

The story alone is amazing, add the narration it’s fckin’ top tier! Every narrator brought their characters to life perfectly. The tone, emotion, and energy they gave each scene made it great.

K.G. Reuss has such a talent for words — she makes every moment feel shocking, It’s a great start to the series.

Each chapter pulls you in deeper and deeper. Once you meet the guys, you’ll feel like you just walked into one wild party — there’s spice, drama, suspense, secrets, and plenty of twists & turns.

If you love dark, why-choose, or bully romance with mafia vibes — this one’s for you!

Me encantó.

This was a stupid book but I knew that going in so I can't only be mad at myself.

Bianca's mother has married a mafia boss and this cruel man is now her step father. He has arranged for Bianca to marry into another powerful family but her future husband is cruel and malicious. Bianca rebels by seeking protection from the Kings - a rival mafia family. But that move has made Bianca completely at their will.

This was a reverse harem, why choose? romance.

This is hands down the most epic start to a series I have EVER read. Omg, what a ride it was! There were so many twists and turns, heartbreaking revelations, heart stopping moments, but also so much love too. In a word, this is perfect!!

My heart just broke for Bianca: everyone and their dog us plotting to harm this girl, and my boo just could not catch a break. Whether it's her gross step-dad, the awful psyco she's supposed to marry with his equally awful friends, and the men she ends up giving her heart too, there's just no safe place to land. But Dom, Levin and Vincent may not be her safe place, but nobody touches her but THEM. They claim her, they possess her, they hurt her, they build her back up, and in turn she has them as well. They all love her so much, and as it usually is with kg, watching the individual relationships form was my favorite part!

There's SO MUCH that happens in this book, but it's one you really need to experience first hand. I was so enthralled in this world from the very first page and I cannot wait for more!!

DNF at 54%.

I wanted something a little bit different but this is just dark for the sake of being dark with a very thin plot. 80% of the characters, including the main heroine, are just giant contradictions of themselves, being both virtuous and monstrous from one breath to another. It’s highly repetitive and it doesn’t seem like anyone can think more than 1-2 days in advance.

Sure, it’s pretty spicy, but it’s more like awkward spicy than dark spicy. For a reverse harem, Bianca sure doesn’t have much power over any of the men. It’s kind of sad really.

DNF series

**Review Shared for series**

"I will keep each and every single whisper you say to me close to my heart." book four pg. 323

I am not a huge fan of bully romances, but this was highly and frequently recommended in the facebook groups I am in. I was not prepared for the extent of bullying and darkness in the series. That being said, it's a great bully romance with unredeemable mmcs.. And I would never take stars away for a book being exactly what it claimed to be. That wasn't why I didn't finish the series.

Honestly, my problem with the series was that the main characters never seemed to get a win. I don't have a problem with dark romances, but I feel like there needs to be SOME good times to get us through. By the end of book four only part of the harem was together yet again there were some left out due to lies and betrayal. Also the amount of characters and who was actually working with who was getting far too confusing. The enemies just kept coming and nothing seemed to get resolved.

Also, I couldn't help but hate Bianca. I get that she keeps getting tossed around and doesn't have the connections or strength to fight back but.. I feel like she is strong when it's convenient for the plot and weak when she needs to be put in line to let the mmcs take advantage. Dom continued to go too far throughout the series and yet he is the one that gets to spend the most time with the fmc and keep the other people she loves at arms length.

I don't really like when the harem feels unbalanced, this one is exactly that. Dom is in charge of the harem and the other guys need his permission to touch Bianca.. *insert eyeroll* Girl is literally just his property throughout.

I ended up reading all of book one and two, I skipped like 70% of book three to see if I wanted to continue, got hooked towards the end with what was happening to Bianca, read book four, and then started book five and was just frustrated that the harem was split up once again. With a million enemies can the harem at least be together?

Cliffhangers!!!

Wow. I'm glad this series is complete because otherwise I'd go insane waiting from that cliffhanger.

This book requires a lot of buy in from the reader. Everyone's emotions go fast with little interaction between them to spur it. However, the interactions are worth it. It gets more intense as it continues and if you let yourself fall into it you will enjoy. This is a dark romance. There are trigger warnings and you should pay attention to them.

I liked the differences between the Kings. Part of me wishes we got to see more of the various Lords dynamics as well, but they were still great as villains. As you get into the story you realize pretty much everyone is a villain (Except her best friend! At least so far.) Bianca's situation is that cliche, out of the frying pan and into the fire. There were times you wanted to curse her out for being so dumb. Also she goes from Haye to last with very little workup. Luckily that can be fun in this type of fiction. I think we'd all hate reading about the good girl if she stayed good in this genre.

I will definitely be continuing in the series.

Things to know: this is a reverse harem with some slight MMF interaction but mostly MFM+
TW: bullying, Dubcon, noncon, abuse, sex trafficking, gun use, control, and probably more- check the warnings before ou but, they'll be listed.

Sucked bad

I couldn't tell the guys between each other there are three main guys and I couldn't tell the difference between their points of view it was nothing that stood out between them other than that was the leader Bianca was a very weak girl she turned 18 went to this High School she had a credit card if anything she should have ran for her life. The book just wasn't very engaging. This author's other series with church ashes sin and stitches is so much better it's like it was done by a whole different author. I suggest reading Church. That book is about a thousand times better than this.
