TWO OPERATIVES. ONE ESCAPED KILLER. AND A MISSION THAT'S ANYTHING BUT ROUTINE. Multiple time USA TODAY & Amazon 6-million copy bestselling authors DAVID ARCHER and BLAKE BANNER have combined forces to create one hell of a thriller series!
Alex Mason is the top operative at the Office of the Director of Intelligence Networks (ODIN) in DC. Aila Gallin is a captain in the IDF and a katsa with the Mossad. They often collaborate and are close friends. So he is not surprised when he receives a call from her at four in the morning.
He is surprised when he discovers why she called.
She reveals that five years earlier her mother was killed by a psychopath who escaped prison because he was declared insane. He has been five years in a mental institution, but has just been released. And she believes he is coming to kill her.
Alex’s immediate, visceral reaction is to go to her immediately, but he has instructions to go to Brunei and collect James Lee, a CIA officer seconded to ODIN, who had been arrested in China and is now being returned to the US in an exchange of prisoners; an exchange that should be simple and straightforward, but which turns suddenly and terrifyingly violent and dark.
Will Alex get to Gallin in time to save her life? And, after seven years in a Chinese prison, how much can he rely on Lee for help?
Alex stands alone with the fate of his dearest friends in his hand, as well as the fate of his nation.

A Vengeful God follows Alex Mason as he’s pulled into two crises that collide with brutal force. Mossad agent Aila Gallin reaches out in panic when the man who murdered her mother is released from a psychiatric facility, convinced he’s coming after her next. Before Mason can fully respond, he’s ordered to Brunei to oversee a supposedly simple prisoner exchange involving James Lee, a CIA officer shattered by seven years in a Chinese prison. The handoff erupts into violence, revealing deeper political manipulation and forcing Mason to question whether Lee is a victim, a threat, or something in between. As Aila’s stalker closes in and the Brunei mission spirals, Mason is pushed to balance loyalty, justice, and survival. The novel blends personal vengeance with international intrigue, driving toward a tense, action‑heavy confrontation where no choice comes without consequences.
These two supposed that elite operators get worse and worse with every book. They make more and more mistakes act more and more stupid and for some reason when people are trying to kill them, they like to have a conversation first before shooting them to give the opposition a chance to attack them, and it always ends in a fight. And then Mason never wants to shoot anybody because the bulldog could ricochet and accidentally hit somebody 1000 feet away. I’d rather chase the sun down and beat them up while in the process of chasing said person will turn around and fire three rounds into a person who just came out of their State room. But he won’t fire three rounds into the back of the person he’s chasing for some ungodly reason only he knows the books are just stupid.
Alex Mason is involved in a mission that at first glance looks really easy but ends up with him and his partner facing off against deadly assassins who's mission is to not only kill them but at the same time kill Nero and by succeeding throw the western worlds intelligence services into chaos, they discover that Russia and China have combined forces to try and achieve their goal led by an old enemy who has been plotting and training her agents for years to infiltrate ODIN.
These authors typically create and imagine international scenarios... short and intense stories. Incorporating AI creatures via Russia and China seems weird. Their vicious and homicidal attacks must be stopped. What next for Mason and Gallin or are they finished?
A Vengeful God is extremely capturing and cannot be put down! Thrilling!
I read this book in one morning because I could not break away from this page turner! I have loved all of the Alex Mason books but this was by far the Best! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
These two characters are fun to follow. They play off each others strengths and compensate for their weaknesses. I look forward to their next adventure.
Convoluted! Intense! Unpredictable. A fast paced exercise in deception and intrigue. If you have been following the progression of the adventures of Alex and Gallin, you will love the conclusion!
As always another outstanding chapter in theAlex Mason saga . Not only does Nero put them at great disadvantage he offers no hel. But with the smarts of Yahila and Aex they get job done. Yahila also got 10 million for her troubles. 10 🌟 plus!!! Thanks Carl Clause
I hate to say it but this was not a good read. Half the time I didn’t know what was going on. It would jump from one thing to another. I was at a loss. Sorry.
