Julian hadn't seen the young girl who had stolen his heart as a boy, since he was fifteen years old. Now this year as the holidays approach, he can't seem to shake the memories of the fair Christina. She haunts his dreams and follows him into the waking hours. Forsaking family and friends, he deciders to head to the picturesque mountains where of Colorado where he first met her. Maybe there he can make peace with the past and move on.
This is a reread in anticipation of the holiday season. I wanted to recapture the MAGIC I felt the first time and mostly this did happen, but It also made me notice a few issues I overlooked the first time. Like the fact that the hero Julian had moved on from her. For some reason, I did not really notice or even acknowledge that while he was busy having relationships and girlfriends, she stay true and faithful. THIS REALLY BOTHERED ME. Why do this and say she was the love of your life? I don't understand that.
Now Julian is not a manwhore or anything. And he was just about the most protective and affectionate alpha I have ever read about, so I think I just overlooked this issue. He does the most incredible and wonderful things for her when he finds her again.
The story goes Julian remembers his youthful summers spent at his family cottage by the lake with the heroine Christina. "She was the girl I'd thought I would grow up to marry. Now I didn't even know where to find her. Not that I'd looked too hard." So he does acknowledge that he has failed in his girl here. But he must try to find her now that he has remembered their growing love for each other. He maintains that: "No one has ever been able to make feel even half of what I felt back then and believe me I’ve tried to find it. Now she's been haunting me for the last few weeks. I say haunting because it was as if I could feel her everywhere. Sleep or wake, she was there with me."
So he does the only thing he can to feel close to her during the holiday season and that is, he goes back to where it all began. To the place where love had first and last touched him, this summer cottage.
And what he will find there defines for me what the holiday season is really all about. Forgiveness, peace, family, and love. That feeling of belonging we all search for and the hope that things will get better. The possibility of redemption and promise of a new year! IT WAS JUST CHRISTMAS MAGIC FOR ME!
Now that I know Jordan Silver is able to write a truly moving story, as this one was, I am going to be way more demanding. If she can write this moving tale of love lost and found then she is capable of more deeply emotional stories then the ones I have been reading by her. This book was one of the most perfect book by this author! Why? Well first it's a holiday story so you know it's going to be sweet but it's not a f@&$fest. This story is about childhood sweetheart and star cross lovers. It was about hope and survival. Dreams came true for both the hero and the heroine in a way that made my day. I love happy happy ending with a sweet epilogue. Just sooo good. I will read again around the holidays just to have the full effect and to make me appreciate what I have. Amazing!

I have to admit JS books are by far and away my guilty pleasure.
They generally could do with a serious editor (the ones I have read anyway) and are usually way way way over the top and beyond.
This one was a bit different though, as it did not have the usual asshole jerk "alpha" for a hero.
It is a story of "lost" young love and a bit of Christmas Magic.
Still, a nice little read, and glad it is on KU, as a lot of Jordan Silver stuff is now, as the pricing is/used to be outrageous.
Two young kids in love are torn apart. Years later an overwhelming need to go to the place it all started sets in and they meeting again. Short, sweet and spicy.
This is a delightful finding one another again. Julian is looking for Christina, and Christina is looking for Julian. They both felt like a strong urge or desire feelings to go to the Colorado mountains, that were they found one another again. Fantastic sweet romantic relationship.
This is such a sweet, cute, Christmas miracle, second chance romance novella, with all the goodness of childhood puppy love and yearning.
At the pinnacle of his success, Julian is left feeling restless, despite having a full life of friends and family, but he is missing something. A feeling of fulfilment, peace, and happiness, that he only felt when he was 18, and fell in love with his childhood friend.
Circumstances and her family drove them apart and they lost touch completely. I loved how Julian was so driven by her dreams and her memory that he had to even abandon the Christmas holiday and go on a wild -goose chase to find her.
His yearning to find her, to feel that way again, is so poignant and vividly written, it touches a note in your heart. All his efforts have been in vain and he has no clue where to start, but it’s not Christmas unless it’s a miracle.
I ached just for the sight of her face. The only picture I had of her was taken when she was ten years old or so. I think my heart was breaking for that lost love. For that beautiful that was destroyed before it had a chance to grow, to see light.
I felt anger and pain and, desperation. I had no idea what was going on, why the sudden urge to find her. But I knew if I didn't my life would never be the same again.
Christina is literally dropped into his lap. Down on her luck, barely holding on, all alone in the world, just waiting to find and by found by Julian, to have a family in her life, someone to call hers.
I really liked how they didn’t jump into bed immediately, but got to know each other, discover themselves in the span of a few days. Sigh. It’s just a really, sweet feel-good, warm-feeling kinda story.
PS: Julian’s mother, is what family is all about. She was just the best!
This book was a nice read that took about 1.5 hours. It was about two people who met during their childhood summer vacation; each family returning year after year. As the years passed, their relationship blossomed from carefree kids to the first blooms of love. Things happened and they were forced apart. After each are grown there seems to be an urgency to find each other. This is a story about that journey. It is sweet, heartbreaking and joyous. This was a perfect book to introduce the new year. Thanks Jordan, love all your alpha males, especially the ones that are ruthless... But all this sweet hit the spot this morning.
Julian and Christina. Hmmm, not much to say. Rich boy and poor girl fall in love as adolescents while on summer vacations. Caught kissing and it all goes to p**p. Yet they never forgot. Years later (not many considering he is now a wealthy CEO) something makes the boy return to the place where they met and, (smack forehead)... there she is!!! Love abounds and the earth continues to rotate. But really, my juvenile sarcasm aside, I love usually those sorts of stories but this was just booooooring...
I really enjoyed the overall theme of this book. The story of lost first love finding it's way back home was a sweet read. I absolutely could not get past the author's use of the abbreviation for Christmas ( Xmas) every single time. It felt so lazy and I really believe it took away from the story. This was very annoying and took away some of my enjoyment of story I otherwise would probably have rated 4 if not 5 stars. I definitely recommend you read it and hopefully the abbreviation doesn't annoy you as much as it did me.
I am falling in love with this authors writing style I like how she writes from the alpha male pov Julian and Christina love story made me a little teary eyed I enjoyed this short story very much finished it in one day because I couldn't put it down.......HAPPY READING!!
Ms silver never disappoints her readers. I love reading her books it is like a breath of fresh air with so many books out there that let you down. Her alpha heroes are super scorching and the heroines are there perfect match. This story was a very sweet one but still very HOT I cannot wait for her next book and recommend her books to all romance readers.
Julian and Christina fell in love when they were so young. Her father separated them and since then her life has been horrid. He struggled to find himself after his heart was torn out. 11 years later they meet again where they met originally. Great story, fabulous plot, I loved these characters and the writing is great. Wonderful story Jordan Silver!
Delightful, heartwarming, steamy little Christmas story! I loved these two, how they ran into each other, how they needed each other. I wish it had been longer, but I always hate to see a Jordan Silver book end.
I have never read a Jordan Silver book I didn't love but Julian and Christina hold a special place in my heart. I admit freely I cried ugly tears while reading their story ...then my heart cheered for them. Thank you for another amazing story
