Five weeks after she’s brutally attacked and beaten in her home, Arykah Miles-Howell returns to church determined to reclaim her title as the First Lady of Freedom Temple Church of God in Christ. Not fully recovered from the loss of her unborn child, Arykah deals with broken women who bombard her with problems of their own.
With the help of her supporters, affectionately known as Team Arykah, and her loving husband, Bishop Lance Howell, Arykah manages to overcome her personal struggles. She proves to the congregation that she is a force to be reckoned with when Bishop Lance’s ex-girlfriend tries to take Arykah’s place on the front pew.
Will Arykah keep her eye on the prize and stay covered and protected in the armor of God, or will she strip down to nothing but her flesh, boxing gloves, and stilettos and jump in the ring to battle?
This book holds nothing back! And in my opinion just as good as the first book!!! The most messiest people in the world will be the church folk sadly and honestly this book proves that ! I enjoyed listening to the audiobook! The narrator was really good and easy to follow.
I love books by Nikita Lynette Nichols. She did not disappoint with this one. After experiencing a very disturbing attack Lady Arykah, along with her loving husband and her supportive, ride-or-die friends better known as Team Arykah gracefully puts the pieces of her fabulous life back together. In addition, there's plenty of church house drama to keep you interested in the story. I also loved her heart. She's no pushover but she also never hesitates to help someone in need even if they feel the don't deserve it. She never bites her tongue and she can definitely hold her own I really enjoyed it. The audible performance was great, too!
While I enjoyed Mother Myrtle and all the characters in this book, I wanted a little more from the plot. The major issues - the rape and Angela Moore - resolved so quickly (with 100 pages left in the book) that the rest was tying loose ends. Overall, I was entertained and it was a cute, quick read. It would have been 5 stars for a more in-depth plot. It seems like there will be a book 3, so hopefully, Nichols brings the drama.
Wow Nikita Lynette Nichols has done it again. I could not put the book down, kept saying one more chapter and off to bed……Stayed up to finish book. Bishop Lance and his beautiful, outspoken wife Arykah is an amazing couple. Arykah is trying to learn to bite her tongue when dealing with church folks, she is getting better. This is an amazing story; pick up your copy today. Waiting for the next one!!!!!
After the trauma of being raped Lady Arykah must fight her way out of depression and back to her former self. You are in for a treat as Arykah works her way back. You will not be disappointed. If you have read the series you know that God has to work on Arykah and when he does you will be please. I love this author and I have yet to be disappointed with her work.
it was pretty good. had some laugh out loud moments. I'm not crazy about the friendship part. Team Lady Elect was a bit much. I enjoy the book though. It looks like it's going to be another one. I'm sure I'll read that one too. Must say that I really enjoyed the relationship between the main character and her bff and their husbands.
Lady Elect 2: Lady Arykah Reigns by Nikita Lynnette Nichols is good read. Nikita Lynnette Nichols did a good job. It's well written and concept. I have take my time to reading this book. I wish I could have a wonderful career like bishop and Arykah. I'm not going to spoilers this book. I can't wait to read another book from this author. This is five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Lady Elect 2 is just as good as the first book. First lady Arykah once again will have you laughing at times and mad at times. She isn’t alone and have a team to back her up. The drama that goes on in this church will have you turning the pages. This is a good series. I want more
3.5 stars...Lady Arykah is a lot to handle, but you can't help but love her spitfire attitude. By the way the book ended I'm sure there is another installment so I'll be sure to read it and get my laughs, head shaking moments and jaw drops with some spirituality mixed in then.
I loved the first book and was really thinking this would be the same drama. But it was not. Disappointed in the storyline and the ending was rushed. Don't get me wrong though...I LOVE the fact that Lady Arykah is plus sized, independent woman.
3.5 stars...This series of books is like Christian RHOA lol. It's entertaining to read with portions of Godly wisdom and regular hood drama. The characters and storyline are well described and the author does a good with giving a recap of the previous book without making it sound boring.
This review is my opinion and I know I will be in the minority. The author has a gift. I looked forward to experiencing the next installment. The first installment set up an interesting storyline and this series was poised to deliver drama and maybe a few lessons. Unfortunately, this installment could not keep up with said momentum. This book picked up 5 weeks or so, after the rape of the First Lady. I was surprised that the rape was glossed over (no feelings were dealt with and “sexy time” was back as if nothing happened) and rushed to completion. The Angela issue (threat to the marriage) was handled in the same fashion. The First Lady was my least favorite character in this series. She came across shallow, cocky, combative and exhausting. These things distracted from the positive acts she did for others. She was a strong character that stood up for those who needed it. It was good to see a strong black female character. It was just easy to forget the “good stuff”. She didn’t come off likeable to me. It seemed the husband was constantly having to give in to demands after a tantrum and see her side of things without the same respect be given to him. The relationship just came across one-sided. As I said, I like the author and look forward to enjoying more of her work. This particular installment just didn’t work for me. With how harshly and unexpectedly the book ended, I am guessing there will be another installment to look forward to soon.
I had a good time reading this book. I laughed, I got angry, I was sad and I experienced happiness and joy.
Yes, Nikita Lynnette Nichols has done it again, she created a story that had me hooked front the first page to the last page. Ok, Ms. Nichols, who is having a baby? Please tell me there will be a book 3. We also need a movie, Arykah deserves to be on the big screen.
Those of you who maybe reading the reviews trying to decide if you want to purchase a copy this book, please get a copy you will be in for a wild ride, but you will enjoy it.
Thank you Ms. Nichols for a wonderful reading. Arykah is my fictional best friend.
Lady Arykah certainly does reign! She is just as big, bold and beautiful as she ever was! Her and her Team Arykah are not playing in this sequel. She does what she has to do so that the people of the church will know that she is the First Lady of the church and they will respect her as such! She throws a nice shower/get together for Miranda and it goes off without a hitch. But when pastor Lance's ex-girlfriend Angela Moore decides that she's going to get Lance back and sit in the front pew, which happens to be Arykah's seat, all hell breaks loose. When it's all over, Lady Arykah and team Arykah have things well under control. Read: Jan. 2015
I love a big woman confident in her skin who knows how to put herself together. The follow-up to Lady Elect made me laugh and definitely had moments where my eyes bulged. Lady Arykah has a mouth on her but she's fierce and loyal. The ending has me asking WHO said that? For me the Breakout Character was Myrtle. She is a treat.
Enjoyed reading this installment of the trials and tribulations of the First Lady & Team Arykah. Ms. Nichols has done it again and wrote an entertaining story about the lives of the Bishop and his new bride trying to adjust to married life, a bad incident and staying true to church "traditions". Can't wait for the next book to see what happens next.
Read both books Lady Elect and Lady Elect 2 and totally enjoyed them. Whatever God has for you it's for you. Love me some Lady Arykah and Lance. Storyline was on point and I laughed and was mad at most times. Drama in the church was this page-tuner and I enjoyed every page.Another great read from Nikita Lynnette Nichols and can't wait for Pt. 3 and you won't disappointed.
Another AWESOME 5 star read! Lady Arykah, Bishop Lance, Monique, Adonis, Momma Courtland and Team Arykah are back. Inspite of everything the former church mother's put her through, Arykah showed Freedom Temple that she was there to stay, only to come back to more drama & a new enemy! With the help of her loving husband & support of her team, she reigns!!
This was a great read. Myrtle was very funny. This book made me laugh, cry, angry, and do a eye roll at Lance's ex girlfriend. Church folks always trying to manipulate folks into what they want you to be but Lady A wasn't having that. I just wonder who made that statement at the end? I hope there is a 3rd book to tell us.

This book was so good. I love Arykah and Bishop Lance. More characters were introduced in this second novel. I laughed and got so mad at what Arykah endured. Surprised ending makes me wonder if there will be a third book.
Lady Arykah is a tough First Lady with some edge! I truly enjoyed her and the Team! Bishop Lance is no pushover either! Good reading, serious issues and humor mixed in!!! Loved it!!!!
The conflict and tension resolved rather quickly I thought more was going to happen to this character but I like this character. I will read the next book about this character. I want to know what happens next.
love Lady Elect 1 & 2..... this book is full love...acceptance....loyalty and faith.....I love Bishop and Ayrah's love.....This book is freshen it give a great insight of real Christians, not perfection by christians. Waiting for 3.
