From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel. My father orders me to seduce a man most people are too afraid to even look at. Georgi Torrisi. Head of the Torrisi family and a Cosa Nostra Capo. A brutal and powerful man who rules his world with violence and absolute control.
And I’m supposed to make him want me.
Turns out my father thinks he can use Georgi to get to Atanas Petkov, our family’s sworn enemy. If Atanas continues to grow in power with Georgi’s help, it will mean the end of my father’s reign of terror, and I’m the bait meant to make one of the most dangerous men in New York lower his guard.
Do I have a choice? No.
Hours later, Georgi Torrisi is chained in my father’s basement while the man I helped betray is beaten and tortured. My already messed-up life takes a turn for the worse because I didn’t expect the guilt. I didn’t expect the way his eyes still burn when he looks at me.
And I definitely didn’t expect myself to unlock the chains and set him free.
The moment Georgi walks out of that basement, he turns into a violent monster that’s out for revenge. Once the hallways of my family home are painted red, he takes my daughter and me with him.
There’s no running. No hiding.
And now all I can do is pray I survive being at the mercy of the man I betrayed. STANDALONE: A Mafia Romance full-length novel.

First time giving 1 star to Michelle. I get that he’s a playboy, but it didn’t add anything to the story. Was it really necessary to be reminded of it almost every chapter?
Every time he told someone he had settled down with the heroine, people were surprised and made comments like, “You won’t be able to fuck around like you used to.” And the H “Aren’t you happy. I’ll leave your strippers alone,” I joke” 🙄🙄
And every time they did something sexual, he thought about his past. At 92%: “I’ve had women deep-throat me before, but this… fuck, this is what truly does it for me.” We get it.
The story is very triggering. The heroine is raped on page, and the hero is forced to watch. She has never had consensual sex—only assault.

Manwhore H, usually I’m like whatever about this but holy shit the author did not want us to forget that he has been with a lot of women. I do appreciate that there was no on page scenes w OW or any OW showing up.(shared highlights of his past mentioned) first kiss was with h
h had 9 years of being raped by the same person, and never was with anyone with her consent before or during the 9 years. Single mother
Mmc sexual experience: walking std "the king of one night stands" countless reminders of how he had sex with countless women, constantly brags and joke about being a manwhore
Fmc sexual experience: never had consensual sex, r*ped by om on page
?????????????????
Who even is the target audience for this? It's getting hard to find romance books where the authors don't seem to hate women.
Like most of Michelle Heard’s MMCs, I didn’t like Georgi.
The guy describes himself as a control freak, but clearly not when it comes to his 🍆. He controls his sister’s love life while sleeping his way through the entire female population… wonderful!
Equality between men and women is not his forte.
He also calls himself “the king of one-night stands.” Be still my heart in the face of such intensity 😒 I’m sorry, but this is the kind of cliché I just can’t deal with anymore. I’ve read it everywhere, in almost every mafia book. At one point, I was actually glad he got kidnapped and tortured because he couldn’t keep his 🍆 in check. But hey he never kissed his “conquests”!!
Nina, like many recent FMCs, has been through hell and back. I didn’t mind that, but definitely check the TWs beforehand. The whole kidnapping and torture arc happens within the first 30% of the book, and the remaining 70% is just Nina and Georgi trying to tame each other. Or more Georgi trying to get into Nina’s pants.
Things I didn’t like: As a rule, I don’t enjoy kids in books. They always speak in overly cute, oddly wise ways. The book is short, yet we still lose a fair amount of time on Simi doing very little. Him calling Nina “little mouse”, is that supposed to be cute?? Nina being attracted to him when all she’s known from men is violence. It just didn’t make sense. Nina being strong at first, then turning into a woman scared of her own shadow, hiding behind Georgi whenever someone raises their voice and having panic attacks over panic attacks.
Tropes: ✅ Single mum / mafia capo ✅ Manwhore / “only been 🍇” ✅ Age gap ✅ Size difference 🌶️
TW: SA (on page) Kidnapping & torture Child abuse Mention of miscarriage
I could have given it an extra point because the book did keep me entertained, but I have now standards, even for my fictional men.
I have never felt more sorry for a heroine in my life than here. I think the author went too far. Even though Georgi is wonderful to her, it would be better if he didn't keep bringing up his whorish past.
This book landed on my kindle yesterday morning and I couldn’t put it down till I finished. This is the the third book in the second generation of the Kings of the Mafia series and this follows Georgi (son of Skyler and Renzo - Hunted by a shadow) and Nina.
Our FMC Nina has not lived an easy life under the thumb of her father and bless my heart all I wanted to do was jump between the pages and hug her myself😭. The things she experienced I would wish upon no one, Nina was only left have 2 hours a day with her daughter, and honestly I have no words to describe that household because this was a method of control. So her father must remain happy so that she gets to spend time with her little girl Simi and that she will be safe.
When Nina is tasked to lure in Georgi she follows orders with out question because she has to. While Georgi is in the Pavlov household Nina is tasked with taking care of him after each questioning session. It is these moments that Georgi and Nina start to connect, he understands that Nina has absolutely no choice and when he witnesses something very traumatic happening to Nina by another man (chapter 8 for reference) this is where he reaches his breaking point and vows when (not if) he gets free he will protect Nina and her daughter and take her away from this place.
Nina who has had enough decides to release Georgi and allows him to escape and when he takes down the household he takes Nina and Simi with him to give them a better life. Of course Nina is hesitant she is going from one mafia family to another and she doesn’t believe that she won’t be tricked and separated from her daughter again.
Even while he is injured Georgi does everything and I mean everything in his power to reassure Nina. He was patient, respectful and the moments with Nina’s daughter they were absolutely adorable. Nina’s daughter believed that a prince would come to save them and Georgi took on this role immediately and vowed to protect them in his castle. He wanted to spoil them and give his girls (yes his girls😭) a better life. His sister Raya also immediately embodied the role of being an aunt.
Was there chemistry there? Absolutely but before anything even romantic came into play trust and friendship was built. He stepped into the role as a doting father immediately which was adorable 😭Georgi knew that Nina had to heal and he wanted to be alongside her for that journey, he would wait as long as she was ready whether that be days, months or years there was no time limit.
Georgi also vows that he will get Nina her revenge on those who have wronged her in the past and I was so happy she got that because she was absolutely ruthless👏🏼
Overall I loved this book. This couples journey is not easy but they get their HEA in the end🧡
I cannot wait to dive back into this universe for the next couple very soon. Thank you to Candi PR who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭
I have read a lot of Michelle Heard’s books but I can honestly say, this was both heart wrenching and tragic.
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞/𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: 🔥Single Mother 🔥He kidnaps them both 🔥Enemies To Lovers 🔥He takes revenge for her 🔥He's held captive - She has to keep him alive 🔥He doesn't have to ask, '𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮,' because he was forced to witness it
Nina is a single mother who endures unimaginable suffering. My God! Everything she had to go through…all the suffering she had to endure. Reading her part of the story made me cry a time or two and I was wishing for her and daughter’s happiness. I found myself so protective of her and I am honestly so proud of her! Michelle Heard wrote this character so well that I know her story will linger in my memory for a long time. Georgi… so patient and understanding. He strikes a perfect balance between kindness and a fierce protectiveness for those he loves.. I love him more for how utterly devoted, protective and obsessed he was with Nina and her daughter! Nina and Georgi were the perfect match! I loved their chemistry! It just clicked. Everything about 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲 was addictive and a page turner. I loved every moment of it!
I really enjoyed this book it was such a quick and enjoyable read!
I felt so empathetic towards her especially considering everything she went through because of her dad he’s truly the worst. And what Anton did to her! She definitely went through a lot. It was kinda hard to read.
I wish the book was a bit longer because when I finished I found myself craving more.
The revenge scenes were incredibly satisfying to read they totally deserved everything that came their way and even more.
Thanks to Candi kane, The author for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Aghhh wtf Michelle Heard was that really necessary?
I can handle a lot but not this grape shit and the heroine being tortured this way. This scene ruined the story for me so I DNF it .
I am so pissed right now and if this is the way of future books by MH her other books I loved btw I am not reading her books without spoilers before anymore.
Why why doing this and ruining a good book with this only to shock us or what ?
I trusted MH and got totally blind into it! I can handle all that’s happened to the h off page but this scene was totally unnecessary and stupid!!!!! Sorry
Then there is this kid as a result of cruelty and grape by an awful rotting man and h loves and adores this kid so much ?
Why because it reminds her how beautiful she was conceived by the love of her life?! 🤬😡
I am really pissed right now
So maybe I’ll come back sometime when I cool off because I still paid for the book …uhhhhh

God, this book! The way I cried for the first half was just so 🥲.
Nina (and Simi) has my whole heart. This fmc is one of the strongest Michelle has written. And Georgi! That man is the perfect other half of Nina. She needed his strong yet calm personality to overcome everything in her life.
I loved this book so much, but as usual, please read trigger warnings before diving in. 🚨
Author Michelle Heard is back again with the newest release from herKings of Mafiaseries. Although book 8 in the overall series,Possessive Enemyis book 3 within the second generation spinoff. This book has us following the story of Georgi Torrisi; son of former Cosa Nostra CapoRenzo Torrisi fromHunted By a Shadowand FMCNina Pavlova through their dual POV in this Single Mother, Enemies to Lovers, Dark Mafia Romance.
If you want a story that delves into the deep depths of a super emotional charged journey, then look no further becausePossessive Enemyby Michelle Heard did that and much more.
Possessive Enemytruly has to be one of the most super emotionally charged story that author Michelle has written. She did a terrific job in the way she showcased the journey that it led to for Georgi and Nina, considering the importance of the part it played in accompanying the story development throughout. Especially since it’s what brought the characters to life, making them feel genuine and more real from able to see, learn and feel alongside them as their story progressed.
The depths that the narrative took you to on an emotional level was well beyond deep. It was truly raw and nitty gritty being showcased in many scenes, with some hitting hard like a sucker punch, resulting in an outpour of heavy emotions from what played out. Then again from seeing and feeling exactly what Georgi and Nina were enduring and suffering through. Particularly in Nina’s case from the trauma she carried. It was to be expected.
You could tell author Michelle poured her heart and soul into not only telling the story, but most of all the characters of Georgi and Nina. Having given her all in bringing them to life through their character development that delved deep down into bringing every single emotion the pair experienced to the surface. Whether that be individually or together. Seeing as shared trauma connected them to one another, despite it being mentally for Georgi and both physically and mentally for Nina.
One thing I absolutely loved was Georgi’s relationship with his little sister Raya and seeing it play out. Despite this being Georgi and Nina’s story, Michelle still managed to allow it to shine in its own spotlight, all without ever deterring from the main storyline. Giving us details into their past history, through the present, while continuing to build on their bond from the pieces that was showcased throughout. It truly was heartfelt and warming with their cute and sweet moments, given his overprotectiveness.
With that said, unfortunately the story didn’t go without a couple of issues for me. One came from the showdown seeming somewhat rushed. Considering the build up that led to it playing out felt longer and more spread out, the amount of time spent on showcasing the final result in comparison felt too short for my liking. On top of that, IMO it felt a little anticlimactic.
There was also the case of the ending feeling a little abrupt with how it just cut off, IMO it didn’t feel like a proper or true HEA for Georgi and Nina, especially when compared to the other couples and their stories. And even with knowing they will still make appearances as secondary characters throughout the rest of the series.
Possessive Enemytruly was a deeply emotional felt story that hit hard from the emotionally charged ride author Michelle Heard led you upon throughout Georgi and Nina's journey. Ultimately making for another great read fromKings of Mafiaseries, that was truly engaging in the way it had ahold of you all throughout. And now has me looking forward to the next book of Adriano Rizzo in his storyVicious Devil.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Possessive Enemy, the latest instalment in the Kings of Mafia series by Michelle Heard, delivers a dark, intense story that doesn’t hold back when it comes to putting its heroine through relentless hardship. Nina’s father is convinced Georgi Torrisi holds information he needs, and he has no qualms about using his own daughter as bait to draw him in. Ruthless, His control over Nina is absolute, controlling her by limiting her access to her child, forcing her into obedience, even though she knows it will end badly. Before long, Georgi is captured and chained her father’s basement where he’s subjected to brutal torture in. Her father’s critical mistake, however, is forcing Nina to tend to Georgi between sessions and during these moments a fragile connection begins to form. Georgi quickly sees the grim reality of Nina’s life, and the extent of her suffering but when the story takes a darker turn after one of her father’s men violently assaults her in front of Georgi, his need to shed blood is absolute. With little left to lose, Nina’s decision to help him escape is both desperate and inevitable. But freedom may come with its own dangers, as Nina wonders if she and her daughter are really safe or has she simply traded one nightmare for another.
Overall, this is a gritty, emotionally charged story that leans heavily into darker themes while still delivering growth, connection, and ultimately, a sense of hard-won empowerment for Nina. Georgi and Nina’s story is gripping in its intensity and undeniably heavy in parts as Georgi extracts his vengeance, but Nina’s personal journey is an especially compelling element. Treated as disposable by the very man who should protect her, she endures lifelong physical and emotional abuse, compounded by his manipulation of her through her daughter then carrying the burden of guilt over Georgi’s torture while being fearful of his retaliation, her character arc is one of the novel’s strongest highlights as, forged by the years of pain, she ultimately evolves into a formidable figure, reclaiming control when she takes her own revenge in a way that feels both satisfying and earned leaving behind a woman strong enough to stand side by side with Georgi. The pacing of the story keeps you hooked, you want to rush through your reading, eager to see justice served. Still, it’s not without softer moments such as Georgi’s relationship with Simi, Nina’s young daughter, which adds a welcome layer of warmth. Simi’s innocence and belief in fairy tales contrasts sharply with the darkness that has surrounded her, and Georgi’s gentleness with her shows a different side of his character while underlining the fact that he would do anything to keep her safe. All of which make Possessive Enemy a strong addition to the series.
"Men like me don't give back what we've taken." "I'm not yours to take." "That's where you're wrong, baby. You became mine the moment you set me free."
The first half of this story was very painful!!! Georgi was amazing and for a reason, I have loved him fiercely, even though I was kind of indifferent toward him in the previous books!!! Nina... This poor girl had gone through so many ugly things in the past nine years of her life!!! These two were forged under chains so heavy that they were chocking them!!! They were bound by pain and they became just perfect for each other!!!
Nina was just a pawn in her father's power play!!! She was a single mother, but they were holding her child away from her in order for her to do whatever her father needed her to... Her latest mission was to seduce Georgi Torrisi and to lead him to her father... Chained into his enemy's basement, Georgi is angry and ready to tear the world apart... but an angel is always there to give him solace... He has to hate the girl who led him there, but he is starting to see her differently!!! He only has to persuade her to free him and then, he will take her with him, away from that hell!!!
I liked Nina and Georgi very much!!! My heart was breaking for everything that Nina was going through!!! Georgi was truly a prince and he was about to change her life forever!!! I liked how this man was with her!!! He was so tender, so thoughtful.... I also loved the way he embraced little Simi!!! Now, I can not wait for the next book in the series!!!
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
WOW!!! Michelle Heard has rendered me awestruck with another mafia masterpiece! I’m still basking in an emotional coma from Possessive Enemy. A shatteringly stunning saga of soulmates, survival, and sacrifice. I lived and breathed this book.
Possessive Enemy is a forced proximity meets mafia romance starring a hardened hero and a heroine re-growing her wings to fly. It bravely touches on tough topics like trauma and abuse while showing the healing power of love and trust. Slow-burning perfection.
Nina, the stunning and strong heroine, is haunted by demons, as she struggles to put the past behind her. Georgi is her anchor in the storm. A mafia prince whose heart only beats for her. He slays her demons. She saves his life. These soulmates are tethered together with undeniable chemistry and I felt their deep connection through the pages. Georgi and Nina owned me!
Possessive Enemy seized every part of me: body, heart, and soul. My emotions bled for this book that’s heartbreakingly beautiful and bravely told. I smiled all the smiles. I swooned all the sweet sighs. I raged all the rage. I cried all the tears. I felt all the feels. Possessive Enemy possessed me indeed.
I remember starting this at 1:00 am, knowing it’s a very bad idea and loosing half night of sleep. I was hooked!
Fast paced and action packed, Georgi and Nina’s book consumed me. From the initial meeting to bonding over pain and then healing I enjoyed their journey.
I loved Simi. She was amazing. The mafia fam is so awesome. I loved seeing so many of my beloved characters again. Curious about Raya and Atanas’ book. I also can’t Wait for Rosie’s story- she’s a badass.
This book is safe but hero is a former playboy. Also TW!!!!
-Capo x single mom. -Forced proximity. -Hurt/Comfort. -Enemies to lovers. -He falls first and hard. -Trauma bonding. -KU, TW and recommended.
I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
I can’t believe I just completed this book in one night, in one go.. and Omgg..I think it’s gonna be on my mind for a while..I just have one question for you Authoe..why no Franco?? Like I thought being the godfather we would see him more in this book..That’s my only complaint.
3.5 Creo que ha sido el libro más fuerte que he leído de Michelle. ESA ESCENA me traumatizó. Sin embargo me gustó mucho. Aunque siento que se enamoraron muy rápido.
Oh hell nahhh not another raped and abused fmc x manwhore mmc. I was here for a good time and this was not it. Hope the next one's better, it's releasing this same month
