This was a cute, very quick read. It was very straightforward; they meet, they (quickly) fall in love, and live happily ever after. There's not much conflict (or really any conflict) but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially in a novella this size. The author explained it really well in the afterthoughts that, usually in novels, if something can go wrong, it should, for the plot. Lola Glass wants to write some stories where somethings go right instead, to prove that the worst doesn't always have to happen. And that makes me happy.

Honestly idk why I keep reading this series, I guess because they’re so short? They would be so much better if more thought was put in and they were longer. Characters backgrounds and reasoning for not wanting a mate are so great but the rest just falls apart.

This was the perfect escape from reality read. A little bit different twist on a shifter story but in a good way.

I enjoyed the characters and even though the story moved very quickly, I wasn't confused by what was going on and I liked the progression of Jade and Wyatt's relationship.

The book is short but a lot is going on. Several characters were introduced and hopefully will be more fleshed out in future (or maybe already were? ) books. That's one of the things I love about a series, is being introduced to new characters, while still learning more about previously introduced ones.

I know since this is a werewolf story, it could be somewhat serious or dark but Lola tells the story with a sense of humor I can appreciate and really enjoyed. A new to me author and I look forward to Finn's story.

Wyatt and Jade get their turn at HEA in ‘The Independent Girl’s Guide to Dating a Werewolf’. Despite Jade triggering Wyatt’s wolf to panic-bite her in the beginning, they are able to get to know each other. This book left me feeling cozy good. The spice is slow coming, but at a nice comfortable heat. I have enjoyed all the books in the Mate Hunted series.

Emmy & Finn are up next—can’t wait to see how the story of the queen of sunshine and unicorns plays out with the king of muted grays.

Mi humilde opinión:

Romance paranormal, parejas destinadas, cambia formas lobos, proximidad forzada, segunda oportunidad.

Wyatt no me cayó bien en su primera aparición pero eso fue hasta conocí su historia pasada con sus dos mejores amigos Corinne (o Corrine? Estaba de los dos modos) y Aidan. El destino lo emparejó con Corinne y por un momento se sintió bien y los dos intentaron hacerlo funcionar pero eso los hizo miserable. Lo sentí por él y por cómo acabó todo. Me enojó mucho que ella terminara eligiendo a Aidan su otro mejor amigo y encima Wyatt los encontrara teniendo sexo en el sillón de su casa?! WTF. Era lógico que fuera desconfiado y no quisiera pasar de nuevo por lo mismo. Sin embargo, la personalidad de Jade lo sorprende, ella es apasionada, atrevida y no oculta que él le gusta, lo que la hace irresistible para él.

A Jade no le importa ensuciarse de grasa y el lobo que la mordió resulta ser un sexy mecánico. Ella no se andaba con rodeos, quiere a Wyatt con sus gruñidos y todos por lo que no piensa aceptar ser solo su amiga como él propone. Me encanta lo confiada que era, que lo rete y no lo deje alejarse. Que a pesar de ser nueva en el mundo de los lobos quiera entender y quedarse con él.

Esta pareja fue divertida. Me encantaba que ella lo sacara de quicio y el juego de verdad o reto que los ayudaba a conocerse mejor. Si bien hay atracción instantánea, se siente que hay un desarrollo en la parte no solo romántica sino en la amistad, el compañerismo. Me gusta cómo trabajan eso a lo largo del libro hasta llegar a las partes mas picantes.

Quería que se diera un encuentro con la ex de Wyatt porque no era justo que no pudiera volver a casa porque no soportaba verla. Creí que habría algo de drama pero él simplemente superó lo sucedido, estaba felizmente emparejado con Jade y no le importaba nada mas. Me gustó que tuviera su cierre.

Me da mucha risa las ridículas excusas o mentirillas piadosas que les dan a las amigas cada vez que una termina con un Feral, que no se las creen ni un poco. Finn es el siguiente? Pobre Emmy! Ya quiero saber como les ira a estos dos.

Banter, love, truth or dare

A lovely short but fantastically fun romantasy by Lola Glass with another male from the "Feral Pack". Lola’s stories are always so well written with humour, romance and human nature (worries, insecurities, etc causing problems) and this one is no different. It's full of drama, wonderful characters with brilliant chemistry, second chances at love, friendships, sexy wolf shifters, overly possessive wolves, heaps of humor, cheeky banter and spice💖. Again, I couldn't put down and would strongly recommend.

Jade had gone to Moon Ridge trying to find her friend Stella when no one would tell her where she was. But while annoying the hospital receptionist, Abby sends two of the pack to pick her up so she can explain things. When Jade has a gigantic body sit next to her with the smell of motor oil, tires and sweat she doesn't know why she thinks of it as home, but she doesn't mind when he starts stripping in the reception until he growls mate and changes into a wolf.

Perhaps her friend Abby might not be lying about the werewolves in town.

I loved watching them get to know each other as they work out their relationship together, with Wyatt having been rejected by his first mate. The game of truth or dare was great fun to read.

Can be read as a standalone (all of these books are great fun on their own) but the characters and references will make more sense if you read them in order.

Jade hasn’t believed that Stella is in the hospital. She has been getting the run around for quite some time now. She is butting heads once again with the receptionist at the hospital, Cynthia, that patient info is private and can’t be given out at all. So, Jade begins a campaign to get her way. How she handles it had me laughing so hard I almost fell out of bed. lol. She is also angry at her friends Abby & Maya, because they seem to know something and won’t fess up. After using her secret weapon, Jade gets a call from Abby and that her Nico is sending a friend over for her. Their other friends Zoe & Emmy had been worried at first and then it faded.

Wyatt Jones, the mechanic of the Feral pack, ends up going to get Jade with Finn. Wyatt talks with Jade and then all of a sudden when their eyes meet, he says “Mate.” And transforms into his wolf. The mate hunt has begun. Cynthia explains a few things and gets her to the truck. lol Things go crazy after that. The book is fun, funny, crazy, romantic, sweet, steamy, HAWT. Wyatt is a bit different from the others in the pack. When Jade finally sees that Stella is okay with Graham, things get stunning. lol. Omg. I still can’t stop laughing over that part. Jade teaches biology 101. Her boss is a mega jerk and I found it funny that when Wyatt attends the class, he finds it interesting, as Jade hates it. I like what happens in the rest of the book. I especially love all the truth or dare sessions. lol. Awesome.

Then something even more shocking happens. Emmy comes for a visit and ends up going the wrong way. I pretty much cursed up a storm when I saw who she ended up with. I can’t wait to read that book.

Favourite quote: “You’re a breath of fresh air, Jade. You tell it like it is and don’t try to dull yourself for other people. I’m sure we’ll butt heads every now and then, but I’d have to be fucking insane to get tired of it.”

Wyatt was easily the best part of this novella. Maybe it’s because I’m weak for a mechanic MMC thanks to my own partner, but something about a grumpy, hands-on, grease-under-the-fingernails man who also turns into a massive wolf? Yes please. He and Jade had great chemistry personality-wise, and I genuinely enjoyed watching them poke at each other.

The story itself just didn’t give their dynamic enough room to breathe. The whole “let’s be friends” thing lasted about two seconds before Wyatt’s wolf was ready to mate for life and the man himself folded like a cheap lawn chair. It felt anticlimactic, especially because their personalities were strong enough to carry a slower or more meaningful progression. The spicy scenes were skimmed over too, which didn’t help the pacing issues.

Still, the characters kept it afloat. Jade was fun, Wyatt was swoony in a quiet way, and I liked the overall vibe more than the other books in the series. It just needed a little more plot, a little more tension, and a little more time to land on its feet. Easy enough to finish, but not something I’ll be replaying in my mind later.

Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. You don’t have to read the previous books, but it is recommended since they are all friends and connect via their friendship. Jade comes looking for her friend Stella every day to Moon Ridge hospital to annoy the secretary until she gets answers about her friend Stella of course she is told client -patient privilege, and so she does what any girl would do when faced with an issue call every mayor, senator anyone on the list of numbers until she gets someone who will help her low and behold it works two werewolves from the Feral pack come to get her to take her to her friend. But the moment one of them decides to show her his wolf well it triggers the mate hunt something neither of them wanted or expected but fate yep stepped in making it happen. Wyatt sexy as all get out mechanic who was rejected at around the age of 18 by his first mate so no he wasn’t looking or expecting a mate yet fate decided to give him one anyway he bites her turning her as well and the moment he takes time to get to know her he is so happy that he did gave her a chance but will her wolf bite him back, will she choose him, their personalities are a perfect match they can’t stay away from one anther but where are they headed straight their own happiness like their friends?

The first two books in the Mate Hunted series were incredible additions to this world, so I had no doubt the third would be great. I did not expect the emotional journey it would take me on. I found myself in tears out of pure joy for Jade and Wyatt. The way Jade was so insistent, but vulnerable in her fear of being difficult was so relatable. Wyatt’s assurance to her of, “Not difficult. Passionate.” was such a soothing balm to any girl who’s ever felt that way.

Wyatt shoulders his own load of fear, but he softens to Jade as she breaks down his walls. He tackles his fears, and gives 110% to her. I think this can be summed up in this quote from Jade: “The way he took care of me, spent time with me, and tried to make me happy, was incredible. I felt like a million bucks when I was with him, and tried to make him feel the same way.”

We all should strive to have a love like Jade and Wyatt. The chemistry and spice at the end was also no exception and I love the way Lola always manages to blend an awkward moment of humor in these scenes.

I am an absolute fan of the mate hunt series and so grateful for these novellas about the Feral Pack. I was totally in love with Jade and the meet cute with Wyatt absolutely adorable. I was thinking this one would be my favorite. Jade personality made the book for me and kept me reading. I struggled with Wyatt. I loved his personality with how he met Jade but then his attitude after he bites her I was getting a little annoyed. Hands in his pocket and doesn’t help her through transformation (eye roll). I understand his rejection but he was not my favorite. As the story continued, he had more of a development with a sweet personality than the smart mouth he showed in the beginning of the book. Not a bad book and I did enjoy it. I’m curious how the next book is going to go with Finn. Each book and his attitude with women was starting to aggravate me so I’m excited to see how Ms Glass plans to write it. Either way read the mate hunt series. It will not disappoint!.

Jade Hoover is bold, passionate, and independent; she doesn't wait around for life to happen. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, which is exactly why she's willing to shake up the life of the grumpy and wary Wyatt Jones.

Wyatt is wounded, reserved, and incredibly reluctant when he recognizes Jade as a mate. His internal conflict between his fierce possessive instincts as a werewolf and his human need to keep everyone at arm's length creates fun romantic tension. The game of Truth or Dare throughout the story helps to drive the high-stakes banter, escalating intimacy, and hilarious moments as they push each other's boundaries.

She challenges his caution and reminds him that life is worth living fully, while his immense protectiveness provides the stability and fierce devotion that Jade, despite her independence, secretly craves. Can't wait to see what happens with the next couple!.

First off I want to say how impressive it is that Lola Glass is/was writing this series while pregnant or postpartum. Definitely deserves all the accolades for that!

"The Independent Girl's Guide to Mating with a Werewolf" is the third book in the third series of the Mate Hunt world. It follows Jade as she investigates her 'missing and sick' friend's absence only to realise her friend is a werewolf... and now that she's also been bitten she's one too.

This book is a light easy read. There isn't really a plot beyond Jade finding out werewolves exist but that isn't inherently a bad thing. It's nice sometimes to read a book where nothing serious happens and everyone just adjusts to their new dynamic. would have liked a bit more on what makes Jade & Wyatt's relationship unique. The other relationships in this world have an identifiable *thing* that's unique to them and I feel like that wasn't really in this one.

Didn't really like Jade at all. I think she was supposed to come across as just blunt and determined but mostly seemed self-centered and b****y. It seemed like she was more pissed off that her friends didn't tell her everything she wanted to know more than anything else and then committed Stella to something she knew would cause her physical pain out of spite. The way she treated everyone else related to their matings she deserved to suffer a bit with hers, but of course her mating experience was totally charmed and worked out with basically no problems. And her casual mention that she may or may not have been r**ed by her boyfriend's twin that was just blown past? I really don't know if that was supposed to humanize her or what but it felt totally out of place.
I really liked the previous two books but this one was ruined for me by the FMC.
I usually really enjoy the independent, intellectual, blunt FMC but this one totally missed the mark for me.

This is book 3 in the series and is a fabulously fun entertaining addition. This book is jade & Wyatt’s story. Jade is a straight talking, level headed practical scientist who triggers Wyatt’s wolf as his second chance fated mate, only jade had no idea werewolves existed and Wyatt doesn’t want a mate, after being rejected by his childhood friend who then cheated on him with his best friend a decade ago. Can they work out their feelings and issues and accept the mate bond.

A fun, entertaining, steamy, quick read. I absolutely adore this series, great characters, well written and paced storylines. Can be read as a standalone but the characters are linked with the others in the other books and the wider world and story arcs around them will be better appreciated if you read them in order!.

Jade's been searching for her friend, Stella (FMC of the 2nd book), and when she finally gonna have an explanation, she was mated to a werewolf, Wyatt.

I thought this book was gonna be published next month, December, but it's already here? So obvs, I had to read this.

This whole series is just a perfect no brainer read for me. It's fun, it's short, it's quirky and endearing.

I did love Jade because she's me in a person form. I will move heavens and earth to search for my missing friend. Though, I also wish I am gonna be mated to a werewolf who's down bad for me.

Wyatt and Jade seemed not to work in the outside, but they do click on the inside. They formed a tentative friendship due to matehood and evolved into more.

Looking forward to the next one!

This was a good addition to the series!

I enjoyed this cozy little werewolf romp. The pace was fast, and we also got to see more of the characters in the previous novellas.

Of the three I've read so far, this one was my least favorite. There was a lot less emotional depth this time around. I didn't really feel like I got to know the characters as well, and they were a bit cold. I was expecting more emotional turmoil out of Wyatt with how bad his previous mate bond went. He fell a little flat for me.

Even with it's flaws, it was still a great read! I am looking forward to the next book in the series, and seeing how all the couples grow and thrive over time.
