oh my god, where do i even start with this review? i’m starting with how this was a new to me author and i’ll absolutely be reading her backlist. i already added them to my tbr before i even got halfway through this one.
mason and callie were simply meant to be. workplace romance is one of my favourite tropes, and toss in a boss x assistant trope? i was done for. mason is a reformed playboy whose sole focus is callie. period. that man was down horrendously from the first moment he met her until the very last page of the book. callie is a single mom whose focus is her precious daughter, navie, and the fact that she’s just been offered a new job. the boss x assistant trope was executed so stunningly, and the office trysts live rent free in my head.
not only is their romance the main event, there’s a tiny mystery plot involving some letters found inside mason’s new fixer upper house that had me tearing up. if you’re reading this review, please note the letters. remember them. cherish them. you’re in for a treat, i promise.
this book was hot, emotional, and pulled on my heartstrings more than a few times, but all in all, it felt real and raw. i can’t wait to read the previous books in this series soon!

I knew the boss/assistant trope would get me, but Mason and Callie took it to another level.
Mason is a reformed playboy who falls ridiculously hard for Callie, and watching this man go from carefree bachelor to completely devoted was SO satisfying. Callie was equally easy to root for, and I loved seeing her find something real for herself and Navie.
Mason’s relationship with Navie absolutely melted me, and the three of them together felt so natural. His acts of service, protective streak, and golden-retriever energy had me swooning, while the chemistry with Callie brought all the tension and spice. I also loved the Heart family chaos and getting those little glimpses into what’s coming next.
And those letters! I did not expect that little mystery to get me as emotional as it did, but I was completely invested. This was sweet, funny, steamy, and surprisingly emotional, with a romance that just made me happy to read.
I adored this couple, loved their little family, and cannot wait for more.

Oh Mason freaken Heart 😭😭😭 this was probably one of my favourite reformed playboys I have ever read 🥹 There is just something so charming and beautiful about a man who is finally able to be himself around the woman he loves 🥹🩵 Callie and Navie were the sweetest mother+daughter duo, and Navie is so lucky to have the strong mother that Callie is.
Mason and Callie’s story evolved so well, it was the perfect amount of slow burn that led to a steamy, passionate and powerful love story! I don’t know how Emme does it to write in this parallel stories and incorporate such beautiful meaningful moments 🥹
My heart is just so happy and this book will make you cry, blush, and smile all at once 🩵

I think Untroubled Heart officially confirmed that I have a thing for single-mom romances where the MMC falls just as hard for her child. Mason automatically stepping into that caregiver role and seeing Navie as his own, without ever really realizing he’s doing it? I loved him. ♥️
The fact that he’s pierced is an entirely separate reason I loved him. 😂
There’s also a little piece of this story that I’m not going to talk about because I think it deserves to be discovered while reading. Just know that my old, cold, sentimental heart loved it.
Mason is officially my second favorite of the Heart family, and Untroubled Heart is my second favorite book in the series. I really enjoyed Mason, Callie and Navie’s story.
One of my favorite things about the Heart City Billionaires series is how interconnected it is with Emme’s Matters of the Heart series. The characters and storylines cross between the two series in ways that make them feel like one big family, and I love seeing how everything fits together.
Definitely a book you should read.

Mason Heart had just that….HEART and lots of it! I mean this was a seriously cute workplace romance and everything I could’ve hoped for the third Heart brother.
The way he fell and fell hard for Callie and her daughter had me swooning for this billionaire. He went from playboy to a protective golden retriever in a flash. I seriously couldn’t get enough of him. There were so many tiny moments that made my heart flutter. I couldn’t put it down!
We also discoverer who Beth’s love interest will be and I seriously cannot wait for her story!!

Mason and Callie were everything I hoped they would be and more. From the jump I was giggling, swooning and kicking my feet rooting for their happily ever after.
The way Mason was so down bad from the second he laid eyes on Callie and he was so accepting of every aspect of Callie’s motherhood rollercoaster - boys take notes from this man!
The spice was incredible! The “good boy” had me SAT!

Untroubled Heart gave me a reformed playboy who was completely DOWN BAD, a strong single mom rebuilding her life, an adorable baby, serious chemistry, Heart family chaos, and a romance that somehow managed to be sweet, spicy, funny, and emotional all at once.
Mason has spent years being known as the unserious Heart brother and Heart City’s resident playboy, but underneath all of that charm is such a genuine golden retriever. After watching his older brothers fall in love, he starts realizing maybe he wants something real too.
Then he meets Callie.
And apparently that was it for him. 😂
Callie is a single mom to four-month-old Navie, and she is doing everything she can to create a stable life for the two of them after being let down by people who should have been safe. Her ex has left her financially struggling, and she has every reason to be cautious when it comes to men, especially one with Mason’s reputation.
Then, of course, the man she already turned down happens to become her new boss.
Because romance novels love workplace chaos. 😂
The chemistry between these two was SO good. I loved the push and pull of the boss x assistant dynamic, but what really made Mason work for me was how quickly it becomes obvious that this is not another casual fling for him.
This man is completely focused on Callie.
Period.
He notices everything. He remembers what she says. He finds ways to make her life easier without turning it into some giant performance. And the acts of service?!

But my favorite thing about Mason is that he takes care of Callie without ever making her feel like she is incapable of taking care of herself.
Callie has worked hard to become independent because life has taught her she can’t always trust someone else to stay. Mason has billionaire resources and could easily try to fix everything for her, but instead he encourages her.
He builds her confidence.
He supports her creativity.
He teaches instead of taking over.
He lets her fight her own battles while making sure she knows she doesn’t have to face them alone.
THAT is the kind of caretaking MMC I love. ❤️
And then there is Navie.
Oh my heart. 🥹
Mason never treats Callie being a mother like baggage he has to accept in order to have her. He falls for Navie too, and watching the three of them slowly begin to feel like a little family was easily one of my favorite parts of the entire story.
He makes space for both of them.
Literally.
Because the fixer-upper storyline absolutely got me.
Mason starts renovating his new house, and somewhere along the way, Callie’s ideas about what she loves begin quietly making their way into his plans. Every little detail she mentions, every piece of her dream home, every way the house could work for her and Navie, Mason remembers.
Sir, you are not subtle. 😂😭
He may think he’s renovating a house, but he is basically building a future around these two before Callie is even ready to believe that future could be hers.
And THIS quote???

And yes, underneath all that sweet golden-retriever energy, Mason has another side entirely. 😂🔥 The boss/assistant tension absolutely delivered on the 3 chili peppers, but even the hotter moments still reinforce how completely Mason adores Callie exactly as she is.
I especially appreciated his love and appreciation for her postpartum body. Callie is only four months out from having Navie, and there is never any sense that Mason is waiting for some future version of her.
He wants THIS woman.
Right now.
All of her.

Then they find each other.
Mason chooses Callie.

He chooses the whole messy, beautiful life that comes with loving them.
And Callie finally gets to experience a love that doesn’t ask her to shrink, surrender her independence, or question whether it will still be there tomorrow.
Sometimes the best love story isn’t about someone sweeping you off your feet.

I've been looking for books with a Ps. You're Intolerable vibe, and while Mase isn't grumpy at all, this book checked all the other boxes. The book follows the story of Mason, the third sibling of the Heart siblings, a heterochromatic reformed playboy who's down bad for his new single-mother assistant.
Their story was beautiful, swoony, sweet, spicy, refreshing, filled with tension, emotional, and funny.
Mason was unapologetically funny; his energy was so golden retriever-like. I loved how down bad he was for Callie from the very first sight. One thing you need to know about the Emmeverse is that the men will be down bad for their women. They would go to heaven and earth for them, showering them with so much love that you will have no choice but to wish you were in the FMC's place.
Callie is such a lovely FMC; a great mother to Naive. Naive was the cutest bundle of joy; I loved that kid so much. She was such a daddy's girl - her bond with Mason was precious.
I loved that this was low on angst but still had enough that I just wanted to push them together.
The chemistry between Mason and Callie was electric. I knew Mason was gonna be whipped, and damn, Emme portrayed it so well - it was 100 times better than my imagination. Callie was his sole focus; he had eyes on her and nothing else. Their love was dreamy and wonderful.

Mason Heart has me in a chokehold, and I don’t know that I’m okay.
This man practically falls in love at first sight and then proceeds to spend the rest of the book proving that when Mason Heart loves someone, he loves with EVERYTHING he has. He’s never been in love. Never wanted to settle down. But one look into Callie’s gorgeous blue eyes and suddenly this unserious playboy is looking at forever.
And he is so unbelievably down bad for her.
The yearning. The attention he pays to every little thing she says. Renovating his house based on how she describes her dream home and quietly creating space for both Callie and four-month-old Navie. Rearranging his life to make hers easier without making a production out of it. Falling just as hard for her daughter as he does for her. Mason doesn’t simply want Callie—he wants the entire life that comes with loving her.
But my favorite thing about him is the way he takes care of Callie without taking away her ability to take care of herself.
Callie is used to men disappointing her. Her dad. Her ex. The people who were supposed to teach her that love stays instead taught her to expect it to leave. She’s determined to create a stable, independent life for herself and Navie, and Mason never tries to swoop in and take over. He builds her confidence, encourages her creativity, lets her fight her own battles, and simply stands beside her while she does it.

There is not one part of this woman Mason doesn’t adore, and he makes damn sure she knows it.
I also loved watching Mason and Navie together. There was never a moment where Callie being a single mom felt like something he had to accept or work around. He simply fell in love with both of them, and watching these three naturally become a family was everything.
Add in the Heart sibling shenanigans, friendships, found family, the mystery subplot, those LETTERS, and some very intriguing glimpses of what might be coming next, and I was completely invested.
Mason needed someone who finally made him want forever.
Callie needed someone who would choose her—and keep choosing her.

Masons pursuit of Callie was relentless and the things that man did for her and her daughter Navie... 😮💨 Mason is truly a simp to the highest degree! Callie is relatable - the kinda gal I would love in my corner. She is sweet, funny, and loyal to a T. With the world on her shoulders and a little girl depending on her, she's also had to adapt. Callie may be vulnerable and hold reservations towards trusting men (besides her brothers, every other man has let her down) but Mason surely showed her she could trust him with her and Navies heart. She deserved nothing less than being spoiled and treated like Queen and I honestly could not be more happier for her, Navies and Masons HEA 💗😮💨

I enjoyed Callie and Mason’s story and was happy to be back in Heart City.
Mason is our billionaire playboy who has been on the shelf after adding some *decor* down under 😉
Callie is new to Heart City as a single mom trying to make a better life for herself and her 4 month old daughter, Navie.
These two meet at the bar and Mason is definitely into her even more when she dismisses his flirting ways.
When Callie ends up with an interview for a personal assistant position, it’s a shock to all that Mason will be her new boss.
These two trying to deny feelings had me giggling because it was so obvious to everyone but them. Mason enlists Callie to come house shopping when he can’t handle his family opinions anymore.
I loved these two renovating the house together and Mason secretly tucking away her ideas…just in case. It was fun to have Callie wanting to learn the process and Mason teaching her how to do projects. When they found the secret love letters, I was invested! It was such a fun twist to have a mystery of who owned the house before and how they fell in love.
It’s not long before these two can’t resist their chemistry and christen the house in the hottest way! These two didn’t play with the spice - they heated things up every chance they got!
Mason and Navie’s relationship tugged on my heartstrings! That little girl knew he was special and the connection they had was great. I love how he stepped into the father role without hesitation.
When Callie’s ex starts causing trouble and her fathers secret comes to light, things get worse with Mason’s playboy past coming between them.
Overall I loved so many parts of this book, but some parts felt unresolved. I knew her ex would pop back up but the way he did was weird. Her father seemed more of an afterthought and thrown in at parts that didn’t flow for the story.
I felt the explanation of her friends, Maevyn and Liv’s, back story was too detailed and confusing me at times.
I am excited for Beth & Tristan - their banter is the vibe.

I was excited to read Mason and Callie’s story since the release of Trusting The Fall. This man stole my heart as soon as he was first mentioned. Honestly, he only got better and better the more I read about him.
And now we finally got to know him even better in his own book, and damn he didn’t disappoint. His personality is fun. He knows how to have a good time, but when the time is asking for it, he knows how to be serious as well. His caring side warmth my heart. You can really tell that when he cares about someone, he will do anything in his power to make them comfortable and happy.
Then we have Callie. A strong single mom who wants the best future for her little girl, Navie. She gets a job as Mason’s assistant, and the story really starts from there. They start working together, and the tension and chemistry between them really start flying of the pages. You will not get enough of them. It’s adorable, fun, and very high heated.
The thing I loved the most in this book was how Mason not only fell hard and fast for Callie but also for her daughter Navie. He immediately held her in his heart and took care of her as if she was his own, and this was just the most adorable thing. I coudn’t get enough of this beautiful little family.

Ahhh Mason’s story is finally here and the last Heart brother did not disappoint! A green flag, reformed playboy through and through, he fell HARD for Callie and her baby daughter Navie 🥹 I loved the family these three created together in this book!
Callie and Mason’s story starts off with some great banter and a lot of forbidden tension as boss/assistant. Callie isn’t afraid to hold her own against Mason and I really loved how quickly he fell for her. The way he designed his future home with her in mind, the accommodations he made for her & Navie at work, the caretaking for them both and the small gestures he continuous made absolutely melted my heart. I’m such a sucker for a man that’s soft for a baby just as much as her mama.
And that’s nothing on the spice Emme wrote into this one!! She never misses, but this one WAS SO GOOOOD!!! Eyes on me, lactation kink, spicy mirror scene, lots of “Good Boy”, he finishes in his pants and so many other incredible scenes 🔥🫠 A perfect balance of heartfelt plot and killer spice.
It’s also been great to get so much crossover between series as we get further into this world of characters Emme has created! The Heart family chats are hilarious and the fiery banter between Beth and Tristan has me so curious about their book next!!

Emme somehow manages to make every book feel like coming home, and this one was no exception. I’ve been loving this series, but Mason’s story was so different than how he’s been perceived in the other books.
Mason and Callie were SO good together. Workplace romance? Check. Boss and assistant? Check. A reformed playboy who meets one woman and suddenly forgets how to function? ABSOLUTELY.
Mason was completely gone for Callie, and I ate up every second of it. I especially loved watching his playboy to head over heels transformation. He paid attention to her, supported her, respected her independence, and slowly proved that he wasn’t going anywhere. What a gentlemen.
And Callie deserved that. She’s a single mom doing her best to build a good life for herself and Navie, and I loved seeing her find someone who wanted to be part of that life rather than trying to change it. Mason and Navie together had me melting. 🥹 Their little family was honestly one of my favorite parts of the entire book.

There’s an immediate spark between them but Callie is determined to find a job and support her daughter so she can’t give in to the connection or do anything to jeopardize it. Mason sees his family settling down and realizes he wants that too. He’s been looking for a house for a long time so when Callie goes with him to tour one and paints a vision of what she imagines he immediately wants to buy it and bring him dream into reality. He can’t stop thinking about her and eventually decides it’s worth it to give in to the spark he’s always felt. Callie has to decide is it worth it to give her heart to him and risk it all??

I was almost down bad just as quickly as Mason was. Callie & Mason (& Navie)'s story was everything. From the moment Mason lays his eyes on Callie, it's over. He might call older brother Caleb an obsessed loser, but it's very much a pot-kettle situation. Callie is the only thing on his brain.
It was a real treat to see him fall so hard for not only Callie, but also her four month old daughter Navie. That man is that baby's father in every single way it matters.
It is equally heartwarming to witness Callie fall for Mason along the way and he continues to show up her for and her daughter time and time again. To be completely honest, the girl never stood a chance. The love letters reduced me to puddles.
With every new story Emme gives us, Heart City is becoming one of my all-time comfort places. I knew I was going to enjoy this book, but I underestimated how much. Emme's writing feels like home and her characters feel like family. I look forward to Beth's story and anything else Emme decides to gift us with.

I fell HARD AND FAST for Callie and Mason, individually and together. I love how their relationship developed over renovating Mason’s new house, and throw in a little side quest when they find old love letters under the floorboards? I ate this story UP!

I am loving this whole single mom trope that I’ve been on a roll with! These strong, resilient, and amazing single mom’s who find these amazingly generous and kind men that they deserve after being with these men that are not even worth mentioning. Callie has been let down and neglected by her dad and her ex and is just focusing on her daughter Navie when she unexpectedly ends up i. the orbit of Mason. Heart City’s heartthrob and the Youngest of the Heart siblings. From an incident in his HS years he’s showed everyone what they wanted and not the real Mason. But when Callie comes along and doesn’t seem to fall for all his charms even though he is, he is hooked. But after being in sorta forced close proximity (due to circumstances) they get to know one another and let’s just say it was inevitable that they started to fall for one another. And not just Mason with Callie, but with her daughter as well. God it was so sweet! Mason is literally the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s so kind, patient, understanding, generous, and so freaking gorgeous! Of course there was a small 3rd act breakup but again of course they make up *wink wink* and have their HEA!!! Eeeeee, Loved Loved Loved this so much!!!!!

I loved the moments they shared in the office where they worked & then working together on the house he just bought! Emme writes such amazing relationships not only between her main characters, but also between the friends & family members. The Heart family group chat has me laughing every time! 4.5 rounding up. 4 chili peppers. Emme knows how to write the spice. And it’s spicy!!
I absolutely love this series. They have all been great. There is a LOT of spice but it’s mixed in with such great stories and characters. A loving family of billionaires who we get to see fall these people and see a different side. It’s really swoon worthy.
My only gripe, and it’s not even that, is that it’s written in the way Australians spell. Which is totally fine cause it’s all fairly similar but I get a tad taken out of the story for one sec. Like cause = cos. Tyre = tire. Honestly they spell words the way We SHOULD have. lol. But since I’m used it I get thrown. That being said….these stories are so worth it.
So much fun, love, laughs, maybe a few tears and lots of fun loving spice. And it’s all made relatable in a way. Not the billionaire way but single moms, people who are insecure, money issues, just typical regular things we can all relate too. Even the billionaires. Their story arcs are even more amazing because they start showing sides they didn’t even know they had.
Final book comes out in Dec and it’s Beth’s. Can’t wait for that one.
Read this series. It’s worth it.

I 100% have it bad for Mason. I enjoy reading about how gone he is for Callie. This man is so smitten with her, he wants to know everything about her , he wants to just look at her and he wants to show her how she should be treated and he always wants to make life easier for her in any way he can. The playboy Mason had found his match and it's so much fun to see him fall. She is also so lost in him even though she keeps telling herself to stop.
I ate up how they met but what I loved the most was the journey of them falling hard for each other and in return I fell hard for them too. I cannot get enough of Emma's books. Every time it gives me nostalgia vibes and the comfort of coming home.
A cozy but spicy read. 😏🤭
