When an abnormally high fever sends Sawyer Elias to the hospital, she’s abducted by two women who reveal earth shattering revelations that will change the entire trajectory of her life. As Sawyer struggles to deal with what she’s learned, she’s mistaken for Samantha DuClane. The misidentification sets both women on a journey of shocking realizations. One of them has to come to grips with her shifting reality, while the other instinctively agrees to the life-changing opportunity.
Chia lives almost exclusively among star‑flecked skies and dragon-guarded realms, where gravity is optional and impossibilities are simply plot twists waiting to happen. A longtime word‑smith with a razor‑sharp wit, she’s happiest when inventing new worlds, and steadfastly ignoring the mundane one we all share.
Off the page, Chia is as genuine as they come—quick to share a laugh, even quicker to share a cocktail, and always ready to champion another creative in the pursuit of their dreams.
Chia's writing is a nod to her roots, where characters come to life and imaginative, unpredictable stories unfold. Her books combine the thrilling awe of classic sci‑fi with the magic and wonder of fantasy, leaving readers convinced that reality is, quite frankly, overrated.
Need a portal out of the ordinary? Chia’s got you covered!

Happy Publication Day @chialstrickland and thank you so much for letting me read this before it came out to the world.
Sawyer is a college student, smart, friendly and also a sorority sister. One day she woke up with an insanely high fever, rushed to the hospital by her roommates and friends, instead of getting the treatment she thought she would get, her eyes were opened to another world after a surprised visit from two girls. Apparently, she had magical powers and guess what? The reason for her fever was because she has the fire power. These all sound ridiculous to her till she started getting dreams about a person that looked like her, like an alternate universe but in a weird kinda way. Only to find out that the person she’s been dreaming about is actually her long lost twin!!! Anddddd She has the ice power and she has already mastered it. The world’s stability and survival of the people might just rest on their shoulders as demons are threatening to tear through the veil separating them from the rest of the human existence. Will Sawyer learn to accept her new identity or will she keep running from it? Want to know what happened next? Grab your copy now on Amazon and KU!!

Trying to do this without spoilers
This book, has been the first no spice book in over 5 years that I am 100% in love with and would read again. Genuinely. Samantha is that bad girl no F’s given up for it all. Saywer is more afraid of life and putting herself at risk. Such drastic personalities. The way this book flowed, hours felt like minutes. I am already looking forward to book 2.
This book is actually pretty wild & I can't wait for the next installment! I need to see what happens next. Sawyer gets a fever that defies science and ends up abducted. Thrust into a situation she refuses to and makes no sense, just to turn around and find ANOTHER situation even more wild.... Chia, this is absolutely incredible and I am HERE for the Etherials!
don’t even know where to start with this one. Chia had me hooked from the beginning. There’s magic, elements, found family, twists and turn of all kinds and above all this was a DELICIOUS palate cleanser from all the dark and heavy books i normally read. Sam and Sawyer are so alike yet so different in so many ways. i cannot recommend this book enough!
I’m so invested in this now. I will definitely need book two as soon as possible. It was different in terms of magic and I’m here for it. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
This was a good book, I really enjoyed it. The character development throughout was done beautifully. The only issue I had with the book was the cursive writing.
