Coming home to Cedarbrook wasn’t on my holiday to-do list. It hasn’t been for the last decade. But here I am—knee-deep in family drama, tangled in twinkle lights, and running into Asher Bennett more times than I care to count.
Asher. My former high school rival. The guy who ruined my senior year and somehow became the town’s golden-boy hero. I hate that he’s charming. I hate that he’s funny. But most of all, I hate that I’m starting to like him.
Just when I think I might give him a second chance, I discover Asher has been keeping a secret. And not just that he hates peppermint—it’s the kind of secret that changes everything.
Now I have to decide if the life I’ve worked so hard for is really the one I want… or if it’s time to risk it all for something unexpected.
Lifelong storyteller from the Detroit suburbs who's finally sharing my stories with the world. I love all genres, and my writing style has been described (by me, mostly) as a tornado with the best of intentions.
When I'm not writing, you can usually find me baking, getting lost in a book, dancing at concerts, or diving headfirst into whatever ADHD hyperfixation has my attention that week. I live with my husband, two daughters, and a mischievous puppy, who keep life full of love, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos.
I hope my stories leave you feeling seen, loved, understood, and maybe even a little inspired.
Give me a small town romance with holiday aspect? SOLD. This book definitely hit my emotions. While certain points it was light hearted, fun, and spicy (ofc) there were definitely more meaningful aspects! A very quick read for me personally and loooved the holiday aspect! To me, it wasn’t in your face so it was just truly perfect. I LOVED the ending. It’s what I figured but it was just so sweet. A great ARC & can’t wait to see it published to the world 💗
I was so excited to read my very first ARC story!!! Let me say this one lived up to my expectations! I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing opportunity.
Now, I'm a sucker for good Hallmark movies and this one checks all the boxes, because who doesn't like a small town romance with some steam....
Tropes: Childhood Nemesis Enemies to lovers Holiday romance Internal growth Small town romance City girl vs Small town mechanic
Christmas is by far my favorite holiday so to get me excited is not that hard but to make me swoon over a novel character is hard! I especially loved the writing. I was hooked by her style the entire time. To me, I never felt a dull moment because there was always growth in her words, whether through the FMC's life or the FMC's and MMC's relationship. The plot was excellent because I could not guess how this story was going to end.
if you love a good small town, steamy, holiday romance than this one is for you!
I would highly recommend this new author because she for one knows how to speak to us girlies who need a holiday pick me up! I cannot wait for book two!
I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this book from the author, and I absolutely loved it! It felt just like curling up with a cozy little Hallmark movie — the kind where a successful city businesswoman returns to a charming small town in Michigan for the holidays and unexpectedly runs into her high school rival - literally! Romantic hijinks, family togetherness, and plenty of festive feels ensue!
I got so sucked into the book that I finished it in just two days. The setting, the characters, the chemistry — everything created the perfect balance of heart and holiday magic. Since I'm here in Michigan, I was wishing this town was real and somewhere nearby - I wanted to go visit for the holiday season to see the windows on display!
If you’re looking for something sweet, fun, and full of small-town charm, this one’s a must-read for the upcoming holiday season.
What a fun read! I’m not usually a romance reader, but I did love watching all those cheesy holiday hallmark movies. This book is perfect for that. It checks the boxes for those teenagers who grew up on those movies. Small town. Holiday. Spice & everything nice. A nice little ARC to get me into the holiday spirit!
Messy and bright is a hallmark movie in a book, with some added spice. This novel was super cute with all the holiday feels!
Enemies to lovers Small town Secrets Bullying Grief Healing.
This book was emotional, it made me cry multiple times. So if you’re looking for a book with christmas, love, coming home, healing and some spice this is the perfect book for you.
Thank you so much for this ARC! I cannot wait to see what else comes from this author, they’re going to bring us amazing festive stories I can guarantee that.
ARC Review: Messy and bright and all things not light. When two adults have to face the demons of their past, while also trying to reconcile and build a better future, things become more then messy. Melissa has everything she could ever want after gaining a new position at work, with close friends to celebrate with, and a place all her own. Or is that enough?! The family drama she pushed pause on over a decade ago is about to play out. Will this be what she needs? Add this amazing book to your list of reads for the holidays and find out! I fell in love immediately because it hits all the real and raw of everyday life. Hitting you with the what ifs and questioning your choices, while also pushing you to make amends and rebuild past relationships. I adore this sweet book and can't wait to see what the author has in-store for her next story she chooses to bring to life.
Don’t let the cute, cozy cover fool you—this book wrecked me in the best possible way. It’s hands down one of the best reads I’ve picked up in a long time. The emotions in this story had me in a full-on chokehold from page one.
Melissa, our FMC, gets put through everything. We follow her through some of the hardest, rawest moments of her life, and watching her take every hit, keep going, and still choose to move forward? She’s the definition of a strong FMC. Her resilience is the beating heart of this book.
And then there’s Asher, our MMC. I’ll be honest—I did not like him at first. His past, his choices, the way he handled things… it took me a minute. I’m still not sure how I feel about him, because he definitely has some growing to do. But that tension, that uncertainty, that messy dynamic between them? It made the story feel so real.
This book is emotional, heartfelt, and beautifully messy. Kassie Jones delivered a debut that hits hard and stays with you long after you close the book.
A big-city career woman travels back to her small-town home for the first time in years for Thanksgiving, where she runs into her former high-school nemesis (who is, of course, super hot). Sparks fly, hilarity ensues, conflict arises, Christmas rolls around - and voila! A Christmas movie in book form - with much more descriptive sex scenes than they’re allowed to show on the Hallmark channel.
This was a very cute and very promising debut from a new author, and I look forward to more in this series!
Received as an ARC. I truly loved this book, it had everything I wanted in a book! Also considering this is this author’s first novel is really impressive. Excited to read more books from her :)
This was such a cute book!!! It's a little different to the books that I usually read (I LOVE my dark romance books), but OMG it was such a much needed festive read! It provided me a break from the dark stuff and balance myself back out through a tale of a woman that has worked hard to get to where she is today. Kassie sucked me in right from the beginning and kept me glued to the pages all the way to the very end! When we're first introduced to Melissa, we learn that she is a very determined and goal-oriented person. She has put in countless hours in order to rise up the ladder within the company. All that hard work has begun to pay off with a well-deserved promotion. Although we leave the past behind, it doesn't always stay there. Melissa finds herself back in her hometown for Thanksgiving. Both to catch up with family and give herself a fresh reminder of why she fought so hard to get into the big city. It was going as expected -- until she runs into the very person that had made high school horrible for her. Golden boy, Asher Bennett. Some people never change. Some people do. The only question is: did Asher? He was SUCH an interesting character to meet. When I first met him, I didn't like him. My opinion was heavily biased by the one Melissa gives us -- not that I can blame her for how she felt about the past. But people can surprise you and Asher put in some serious overtime in order to win Melissa over. He won me over by the end.
Kassie did a fantastic job giving the characters their own voices. Every single one of them felt like their own person. With their own quirks, hopes, and pain that might still haunt them. She whisks away on a wild ride filled to the brim with second chances and hope. We've even got some tension thrown in there. (ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT, TOO!! :) ). This amazing author has lit my interest in a brand new area with romance -- an area that I hadn't really explored it before. One that I eagerly search to explore further -- so that I can find more favorites, like Messy & Bright, that I'll want to revisit every winter season! Messy & Bright easily ranks among my favorites of 2025. You can count on me rereading this book in the future and I can't WAIT for the next book in this series!
To quote the author- “For anyone who's ever wished Hallmark movies were a little messier and a whole lot more relatable-this one's for you!” And she wasn’t kidding. This book is a messy hallmark movie. It’s written from the perspective of Mel, the FMC. I really wish it was dual POV, it would have been amazing to get Asher’s side of the story. All in all it was a solid story line, quite detailed and funny. There are only a few spicy scenes, but they aren’t over the top like some books.
FMC: Melissa Cole is from a small town. She had a horrible senior year of high school with bullying and death. She took her first opportunity to get out of town and make something of herself in the big city. She thinks she knows exactly what happened in the past and what she wants for her future. She is a sweet, brilliant and funny character.
MMC: Asher is the bad boy from Mel’s high school trauma time. He has issues of his own and is trying to come to terms with the guilt his has about high school. He is a decent man that is funny and oh so sweet. He even remembers the way she likes her coffee.
Unforgettable Supporting characters: All the supporting characters are lovable in their own way and really make the story strong. They are authentic and I love how they help develop the FMC. Mel has two friends in Chicago that she leans on for advice- Sadie and Drew. Mel has her best friend in her hometown, Jess and her sister, Chelsea. She asks their advice and they are always showing up at the right times. Her dad also has a role to play in the memories of past and present.
Kassie developed each character so well that I felt like I knew them. She transports you with her words of a beautifully painted picture and plot. This story is also so funny. There is easy banter laced with fear and memories of past hurts.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Thank you for a great read Kassie Jones.
Who doesn’t love a small town romance for the holidays? Messy and Bright by Kassie Jones Kassie Jones delivers the ultimate cure for the winter blues with Messy and Bright, a sparkling holiday romance that is truly unputdownable. This is the must-read winter comfort book you need on your TBR pile.
Our protagonist, Melissa, built a successful life in the big city (Chicago!), leaving behind years of family drama and her past in Cedarbrook. Her reluctant return home after a decade sets the stage for delicious chaos. Far from the relaxing holiday she expected, she's quickly tangled up in family tensions and, more importantly, a relentless series of run-ins with her former high school nemesis: the infuriatingly charming Asher Bennett.
Rivals-to-Lovers Perfection
The chemistry between Melissa and Asher crackles from the start. Jones absolutely excels at the rivals-to-lovers trope, making it impossible not to root for these two as their competitive spirit slowly melts into something warmer. Asher, the town's supposed "golden-boy hero," is genuinely funny and magnetic, forcing Melissa—and the reader—to question everything she thought she knew about him.
Cozy Vibes and Raw Emotional Core
Messy and Bright hits all the real and raw notes of everyday life. Beneath the surface of twinkle lights and witty dialogue lies a deeper emotional core. The small-town Christmas vibes and relatable, messy family dynamics put the reader right into the holiday spirit. Jones expertly handles the weight of returning home, the pressure of a carefully constructed life, and the central theme that "life is messy no matter who you are."
This is not just a fluffy holiday fling. A compelling choice awaits Melissa when a dramatic secret Asher is hiding raises the stakes significantly: cling to the comfortable life she has, or risk it all for the unexpected feeling Asher ignites.
Balancing genuine heart, laugh-out-loud banter, and serious emotional stakes, Messy and Bright is a delightful escape. If you are looking for cozy, drama-filled Christmas vibes, grab a blanket and a hot drink; you will devour this story in a day!
Messy & Bright, the debut book for author Kassie Jones, was just what I needed. The Hallmark vibes were full blast with this small-town holiday romance. For a debut book, Kassie nailed it. I really enjoyed her writing style, characters, and the heartwarming plot. Not to mention, it had several of my favorite tropes, like enemies-to-lovers and small-town settings.
Melissa has her life in order and seems to have everything she could possibly want, right? Living in the big city, she left her family behind and hardly ever visits. When she decides to go home for the holidays, she runs into her high school rival and bully, Asher. The thing is, she had no idea that he had been holding on to the guilt of what he did for all these years.
I absolutely love all the characters in this book. I could totally see some of them getting their own book! Kassie did a great job with character development. I couldn’t help but fall in love with them. They felt relatable and real. I loved the challenge of choosing between the career you always wanted and the family you didn’t know you needed.
Thanks to Kassie Jones for gifting me an eARC of Messy & Bright. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this ARC. I thought the author did a great job with world-building - from the setting in a small Michigan town (mitten represent!) to the challenging family dynamics. Sometimes, especially in 1st person pov, I feel like the supporting characters can be like caricatures of real people, but I found the ones in this novel to be multidimensional overall. I did think the character development and pacing could use a little tweaking. I find it can be hard to balance internal and external dialogue in 1st person pov, and i did feel like this was a bit heavy on the internal. My biggest gripe was that the nephew thing came out of left field at 85%, and I felt like the final 15% was rushed. I didn’t really buy in to the MMC’s rationale for keeping him a secret…or maybe I just really don’t like third act breakups. All that said - the reading experience was great. I liked the author’s writing style and thought the dialogue was well-done. Based on vibes alone I’d give the book 5 stars! But since this was an ARC for a debut author I got a little nitpicky on my re-read. Overall I would definitely recommend this book and will pick up more if the author’s work in the future.

this small-town, holiday romance gave me cozy charm, banter that cut just the right way, and enough emotional layers to keep me hooked. melissa returns home for the holidays after a decade away, tangled in career stress, family mess, and an old high school rival who she definitely didn’t plan to run into. the enemies-to-lovers chemistry between her and asher? chef’s kiss.
the setting is warm and the festive vibes are real, with cedarbrook really feeling like a place you’d want to visit—minus the awkward teenage trauma and hometown rivalries. the supporting cast of family and friends adds texture, and the growth in melissa’s arc—from hiding to healing—felt genuine.
why not a full five stars? a few moments dragged and the pacing wobbled slightly during the middle. some conflicts resolved a bit too neatly for my liking, and i wanted just a few more scenes to soak into the emotional highs.
overall, messy & bright is a delightful holiday read that hits all the right notes: romance, redemption, and small-town sparkle. highly recommend when you want something warm, funny, and heartfelt this season.
Melissa has stayed away from her home town for far too long. As she’s risen to the top of her game at work, thoughts of her past back in Cederbrook start trickling in. Finally ready to face her grief, she heads back for Thanksgiving. Tension runs high as she runs into her high school nemesis, Asher. Then she sees him again at Christmas time. Forced to work on a holiday project with him, she starts to see a different side of him. But has he changed? Is he still the person who made her life hell in high school? Is it good tidings, or good chemistry?
Messy & Bright is giving Hallmark, with a dash of spice. We have a big city girl, a small town, and a high school nemesis. It’s a classic holiday recipe, and Kassie Jones nails it. It’s a fun, fast, & festive read, yet hits on some deeper levels. The story tackles grief, avoidance, & redemption. It celebrates balance between the things that matter to Melissa most, her career, her family, & a whirlwind romance she never expected. It’s warm, funny, messy and merry. Grab some mulled wine, a cozy blanket and curl up with Messy and Bright while you wait for Santa!
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for honest review.
Thank you to Kassie Jones for providing me with an ARC of Messy & Bright in exchange for an honest review.
One of the standout aspects of Messy & Bright is its main character. She is very much her own person, grounded in her values and experiences, and her emotional journey feels authentic and earned. I especially loved watching her slowly realize that the way she perceived the past wasn’t always the full truth. The story explores, in a thoughtful way, how memory, timing, and perspective can shape our understanding of people and situations.
The book also leans into the idea that people can change, sometimes quietly, sometimes significantly, and that recognizing this can be both unsettling and freeing. That growth adds real depth to the romance and made the emotional moments hit harder for me.
This is a great choice for readers who enjoy romance with some spice, or who are open to smut but prefer it on the lighter side. The intimate scenes complement the story rather than overpower it, keeping the emotional connection at the heart of the book.
Overall, Messy & Bright is a warm, engaging read with strong character development, gentle spice, and meaningful reflection.
This is a classic and mildly spicy holiday romance, like a Hallmark film, but not one you'd watch with Grandma.
Our smart and ambitious FMC is killing it in the corporate world, but a trip home for the holidays has her questioning if that's all she wants. The MMC is someone she knew in high school who stood by while she was bullied. As they reconnect over the Christmas break, they find closure from their past and explore the possibilities for themselves in the future.
Overall I enjoyed this book for a quick fun read. It would be well enjoyed snuggled up in jammies with hot chocolate and some snow falling lazily.
Plot points I would have liked to see fleshed out more: Her father's cardiology appointments that were shared in the beginning of the book (he's around 5 years later so maybe not that serious?), her relationship with her stepmom and sister, and more details about the epilogue content (them navigating long distance, moving in together, raising his nephew).

I loved this book, it was a great holiday read! Two people have to face their past when they meet again. Melissa spent the past years working hard and is rewarded when she gets promoted. Going back to her hometown for the holidays, she runs into Asher with whom she always had a rivalry. He’s the reason she spent her last year of high school miserable, being bullied by his friends. When her mom died, the harassment got even worse. Melissa was volunteered to do a project for a town shop with Asher, so they have to work together. There was some drama with her dad and his new wife, but they never really discussed anything. The situation with Asher was resolved a little too easily for my liking. The book doesn’t ignore the more heavy topics like effects of bullying, grieving the death of your parent as a teenager, dealing with your parent remarrying.
Tropes: Enemies to lovers Small town Grieving Bullying
I received an advance copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Messy & Bright is the kind of holiday read that wraps you up like a warm blanket—cozy, comforting, and charmingly heartfelt. Kassie Jones delivers a story filled with soft winter vibes, twinkle-light atmospheres, and the kind of emotional warmth that makes you want to sip hot cocoa while you read.
The standout here is the character growth. The protagonist’s journey feels both messy (in the best, most relatable way) and genuinely transformative. Watching her navigate personal hurdles, confront old insecurities, and open herself up to love gives the book its emotional grounding. The supporting characters add even more warmth, creating a circle of relationships that feel lived-in and real.
While the storyline is sweet and predictable in places, the cozy feel more than makes up for it. It’s a breezy, feel-good holiday escape that balances heart, humor, and healing.
A lovely seasonal read with plenty of charm—perfect for anyone who wants a little light, love, and growth sprinkled into their winter.
I received this ARC read and went in without any expectations. It was so good! Yes, it’s enemies to lovers. But it’s done so well! All the emotions are felt while reading this. I wish it were just a little longer because I wanted more! I would have loved to read more about Asher’s past and more about the small town happenings, because the snippets we got made you feel like you were right there. And the steamy parts were done with perfection too.
Melissa left her small town after losing her mom to cancer and on top of that, being tormented in high school. She returns for the holidays and faces a stepmom who I would have smacked And a dad who eventually explains why it was easier for him to push his daughter away. (Cue the tears). Her sister’s life is hilarious. And then there’s Asher. The one who helped make her life hell in high school. But Asher’s all grown up and the chemistry is off the charts. However, with all chemistry and feelings in a relationship come a few twists.
Let me begin by quoting the dedication: "For anyone who's ever wished Hallmark movies were a little bit messier and a whole lot more relatable--this one's for you!" It's me. I'm anyone. Nice to meet you.
Messy & Bright is just that. Messy. It certainly did have everything a realistic Hallmark movie would and should have. It made me smile, it made me cringe, it made me scowl and it made me cry. Everything about it was so REAL and relatable. I'm pretty sure I felt everything Mel felt, past and present, having gone through some very similar heartbreaks of my own, and in a strange sort of way, the realistic representation helped. A LOT. I know, I'm saying 'real' a lot here. But that's just what this story is. Very messy and very real. Just like life is supposed to be. I am more than happy to give this four stars.
Ravenheart Rating: 8.75/10 Spice Factor: Open door, a few explicit words but not trashy spice!
"Messy & Bright" by Kassie Jones is a classic, cosy, sweet enemies-to-lovers Christmas romance and the first book in the "Christmas in Cedarbrook" series. It features all the elements of family drama, holiday chaos, and the awkwardness of running into a former high school bully. This light-hearted, warm, and generally low-angst Christmas love story brings the holiday spirit alive with its charming setting and events in Cedarbrook.
Melissa, a successful marketing executive in the big city, returns to her hometown of Cedarbrook for the holidays—a place she hasn’t visited in a decade. Throughout her stay, she repeatedly crosses paths with Asher Bennett, her former high school bully. The central question arises: does he deserve a second chance? The romantic tension is palpable between Melissa and Asher, but as former enemies from high school, they are now forced to interact as adults.
Returning home is not just a walk in the park; it involves confronting the past.
Messy & Bright by Kassie Jones is holiday romance meets real-life chaos — sweet, flirty, and a little bit unhinged in the best way.
This story throws two perfectly imperfect people together when life is at its most complicated. There’s heartbreak, laughter, bad decisions, and those moments that make you believe maybe the mess is where the magic happens. The chemistry is instant, the banter is sharp, and the emotional payoff hits right where it should — warm, real, and just a touch bittersweet.
Here’s what stands out: 🎄 Holiday tension + cozy romance done right 🔥 Banter, spark, and a slow-burn that feels natural 💔 Emotional moments that hit without getting heavy 💋 The kind of messy love that actually feels real
I really enjoyed this one — it’s funny, heartfelt, and full of charm. Definitely recommend if you love a romance that’s imperfectly perfect and leaves you smiling through the chaos.
Messy and Bright by Kassie Jones is a cute holiday romance perfect for readers who enjoy enemies to lovers, forced proximity, miscommunication, and all that entails. Melissa, a big city girl returning to her dreaded small hometown, finds herself working alongside Asher, the boy who never left, to create a Christmas window display. As they spend time together, old assumptions melt away, and they begin to see each other in a new light.
The story has plenty of festive charm and emotional moments, especially as Melissa reconnects with her father, who is still learning to heal after the loss of his wife and how he became a distant father in the wake of that. However, the romance leans heavily on predictable tropes, and the miscommunication plotline felt a bit overdone. It’s a cozy read with some heartwarming scenes.
A solid read if you’re looking for something seasonal and sweet.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.5 !
This holiday book is more than a cozy holiday book. It takes an in-depth look into our MC’s family and personal struggles that are highly relatable to many. I loved how the author really spent time with Melissa’s growth and spent over half the book with her facing her past and demonstrate personal growth and persistences before us meeting Asher. I loved that when Melissa sees again Asher again she’s in a stronger place than previously. The relationship appears to grow more slowly with a lot of inter-personal growth and reflection while presenting with struggles many can relate to. The reason I did not give this 5 stars is because I felt bringing in Asher’s nephew was so random and was unnecessary. I loved the epilogue and can’t wait to read the next book in the series! I’m so grateful to read this ARC and hope other will also enjoy this story has much as I did.

This was such a cozy and cute small town romance! A Christmas hallmark but with dash of spice. I really loved all the characters especially Melissa and Asher. Melissa was independent, strong willed, hard working and I loved how she was able to reconnect with her Dad and sister after being closed off and alone for so long. Being able to grow emotionally and learn to forgive Asher for the past. The banter between them was great and the spicy scenes were well done. I loved Asher’s confidence and his determination to earn Melissa’s forgiveness and open himself up to her. They had great chemistry and the slow burn of their relationship was perfect. The nostalgia, family holiday traditions, it all was so well done! It had some heavier topics such as grief, loss, and bullying but I feel like it only added to the story giving it an even bigger emotional aspect. Overall it was a heartfelt, festive, wonderful read! 4.5⭐️ Perfect for the holidays!
Messy and Bright by Kassie Jones🎄✨ I received an advance copy from the author. Hallmark but messier — in a good way. Melissa is a successful marketing executive who just got a promotion. She returns to her hometown after leaving after high school graduation and never returning. She is having to navigate past family trauma and has a run-in with her biggest rival from high school Asher(who watched her being bullied but never attempted to stop it).
She is forced to work together with Asher to win a Christmas window decor contest and inadvertently falls for him along the way. I loved the banter between these 2 characters!
It’s got all the cozy small-town charm (think cute Christmas festivals and traditions) but with real emotions and imperfect characters who actually feel human.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Tropes: Enemies to Lovers • Forced proximity • Found family
This book was presented as a Hallmark Christmas movie with teeth and it was delivered. When you want a Happy Holiday Ever After but some actual mess along the way add in the “Hallmark” formula, small town- big city loves, some family drama, pre-existing competition, and a lot of self reflection you have this book. I’m a sucker for the holiday movies and have my favorites I rewatch every year. You may wonder what this has to do about a book review. It’s simple, I would read this book again. Especially as the holidays approach for that feel good, hopeless romantic, some things are messy and sometimes we need to let go of the past to have our happiness in the present. The characters are well throughout and the story is not rushed. This needs to be on your holiday reading list for this year.
Thank you to the publisher and author for this ARC. Messy & Bright is a small-town Christmas romance with a familiar but fun twist: high school enemies forced back into each other’s orbit.
Melissa returns to the hometown she’s spent years avoiding, only to run straight into Asher-her former nemesis and the last person she wants to deal with. But the more time they spend together, the less he looks like the enemy she remembers. As Melissa digs into the past, old truths surface, loyalties shift, and she’s left wondering whether she’s been wrong about Asher all along.
Can she finally make peace with what happened back then-and maybe open herself up to something more?
This is a solid debut from Kassie Jones, with a cosy festive setting, emotional depth, and just the right sprinkle of holiday magic. Curious to see what she writes next.
