Olivia Evans loves drawing jewelry—and hates attention. As the lead designer of Wallace & Kirk—Valetti’s rival—she learns her first important always read the fine print of a contract. Except the lesson comes one signature too late.
When everyone’s favorite fashion house announces an anniversary collection, their unexpected contract could mean Damian’s solution to bring Valetti’s back into the spotlight—or Olivia’s freedom. But it can only be awarded to one of them.
One week in the desert is all they have to give their best in this competition. Or their worst.
This one was cute, sweet and cosy, with a touch of spice. I think it's the first one I read set around the world of designing jewellery, so it's also a nice change of pace. And the female lead isn't a damsel in distress, she's actually anything but. I love when a girl can take care of herself. The 3rd person dual POV was also a nice touch.
Diamonds, sorry, emeralds, are a girl's best friend. A sweet, cozy romance. A high-stakes contest and two hearts that will keep you hooked and make it impossible to put the book down until you finish it. I loved it!
I don’t usually reach for rom-coms, but I keep them for when I need something light and relaxing, and I’m so glad I picked this one up. The author jumps right into the story, setting up the romance early on, and then quickly moves into the main plot: a rivalry between two jewelry design houses and the drama that unfolds. The chemistry between the main characters was obvious from the start, sometimes a little cheesy, but that’s part of the charm of romance, right? Still, I found myself really enjoying their story, laughing at so many moments. What I really appreciated was that the FMC wasn’t portrayed as someone who needed to be saved. Sure, the story took her down that path a bit, but she could hold her own in certain situations, and I really respected that. He’s got mommy issues, she’s got abandonment issues, but they eventually realize they can work through it together. Oh, and there are a couple of steamy scenes, not exactly my thing, but hey, it’s a romance, after all!
